It’s pouring here, so at least I’m getting my steps up. 7k so far in 2 hours!

Gingercar · 11/06/2026 11:28

Probably just another sftone. Technically 1.5-2 stones to get to normal bmi.

I know, overall it’s all good. Just frustrating, I thought I’d have finished by now. And I’ve probably spent £500 on pens over the last three months for at most a half a stone loss!

Exactly the same here but did have 10 / 11lb loss in total these past 4 months

I thought I would be at least another further stone lighter by now.
It's really slow now and has been since February. I'm not gaining but not doing much.

I tried 12.5 for 3 weeks and my body didn't respond well so had to come down to 7.5 for 2 weeks to settle back down and then hit back up to 10mg.
Am going away in July for 3 weeks so am not willing to try to push up to 12.5mg during the holiday but will try again when back in August.

Realistically I do recognise my portion sizes are too big overall and I'm eating sweet things after a meal. I can actually see why I'm not really succeeding as much at the moment but it was definitely much easier at the beginning of all of this.

Gingercar · 11/06/2026 13:53

My portions are very big too. Healthy stuff, but I eat TONS! I think 🤔 m going to have to knuckle down a bit and eat small and low cal for the summer. At least I know I can do maintenance!! I’m sooooo jealous of people with appetite suppression.

ElsieJay · 12/06/2026 12:05

Oh dear - just demolished half a 200gm bar of Lidl’s Fin Carré milk chocolate with whole almonds .
I think I can safely say all MJ is out of my system, as is any shred of common sense .
Feeling sick.
Please, lovely people, talk some sense into me …….

SutekhsEars · 12/06/2026 12:28

@Gingercar I've made the pancake recipe from that Women's Health mag a couple of times. It's really nice. I adjusted it slightly to make it less stodgy. Here's my lunch:

Thanks for posting it. 🙏

Come on, @ElsieJay , you've got this! More water, more protein and plan your meals so you don't get hungry.
And don't decide that one bar of chocolate means it's not worth trying again. It's just a minor setback.

Gingercar · 12/06/2026 13:20

You’ll be fine @ElsieJay . I’ve frequently nicked the odd bit of chocolate (ahem, or bar!) Remember my Easter stash? As long as you pick yourselves up and keep to old habits it’s fine. I do think you get sweet cravings a bit when you come off it.

@SutekhsEars wow! Those do look nice. How did you adjust them?

I managed to do 18 000 steps yesterday in the rain! We’re going back tomorrow (if the rain stops!) so hopefully another good step count.,

ElsieJay · 12/06/2026 14:51

Thanks , @SutekhsEars and @Gingercar - you may be right about the sweet cravings.
I’ve been trying to recall the last time I had chocolate , and think it was Christmas - remember it tasting overly sweet and sickly, not remotely enjoyable.
Memo to self not to do a food shop when I’m hungry and thirsty !
DS in law is cooking barbecue tonight, so can fill up on chicken and salad - him and DD both diabetic, so no gooey desserts to tempt me .

HKG · 12/06/2026 16:53

Hi guys!!! I’ve been away with work for a short bit, what have I missed???

@ElsieJay are you feeling better yet? Like the others have said, lots of water and move on. You got this! One blip is just a blip.

@Gingercar i know it’s disheartening the slow loss, it’s so hard when weighing it up with the £££ too. You too have got this! You have come so far and done supremely well. You are inspiring!

DBatteryBand · 13/06/2026 06:54

Weekly weigh in this morning - still no weightloss. Really put out, as I've been very careful this week with what I've been eating. I will take inspiration from @Gingercar and get stuck in to walking more. I just want to be in the healthy BMI range for the first time ever, and, stupidly, I feel locked out from smaller clothes - why can't I wear a size 10 or a 12? Why am I excluded from the Smaller Sizes Club?! Why?!<stamps foot>

@ElsieJay Don't worry about the chocolate. It happened and now you can move on. I bet it was delicious.

Nice to have you back with us, @HKG .

@SutekhsEars That looks fabulous.

I am going back to bed with a cup of coffee and will think skinny thoughts to see if that helps with the plateau.

Kipperandarthur · 13/06/2026 10:07

I'm also going to have to think skinny thoughts with you this week. I seem to be stuck in an endless plateau as well.

Although if I'm being perfectly honest my portion sizes are still too big!

ElsieJay · 13/06/2026 11:58
Think Winnie The Pooh GIF

@DBatteryBand - I’m thinking, I’m thinking….( skinny thoughts only , no chocolate 🍫! )

Got it in a bit more perspective this morning, have bought some Lidl high protein drinks to stash in the fridge for breakfasts and just had egg salad for lunch.
Drinking more water today, which has always been a struggle.
It’s hot , but a nice breeze, so hoping we can get out for a walk early evening. DH having problems with the battery on his mobility scooter, so he’s wary of going too far in case it conks out completely.

Welcome back, @HKG !
Sorry about the plateaus, @DBatteryBand and @Kipperandarthur hope you’re on the downward slope again soon .

Ifonlybs · 13/06/2026 21:38

Jumping on 5 st down and loving mj

Gingercar · 13/06/2026 22:28

I’ve been to Bramham Horse Trials again today. We walked about 8 miles today. Thankfully it was fine/sunny. I carried the little old lady dog most of the way in a dog carrier. She weighs about 7.5 kilos, so just over a stone. My shoulders and back are really feeling that extra stone. Yet I was carrying over six extra stones!!😱
And I finally started couch to 5k this week. The bigger dog is 11 now, and wasn’t impressed with the intermittent running, so I think I’m going to have to sneak out without him! I’m not particularly fused about making it to 5k or becoming a proper runner- I just hope it will be a faster way to get my steps in on days when I’m busy. I’ll just whip around the footpath around the valley bottom.

I will get off this bloody plateau one way or another!!

Looking super slim @Gingercar !!!

Looking super slim @Gingercar !!!

Indeed you do, @Gingercar ! - and I love your little dog, she looks very content and relaxed in her carrier .
Did get out for a walk yesterday, nothing like your 8 miles unfortunately. We live reasonably close to Badminton, but haven’t been for more years than I care to remember.

Apprenante · 14/06/2026 09:38

Oh @Gingercar you look great! Does your little dog enjoy being in the carrier? S/he looks so snuggly.

Gingercar · 14/06/2026 10:56

Thank you guys. I think it’s just a good angle. 😀 I was feeling a bit crap because I bought a bargain top and jodhpur set on Thurs without trying on, and opted for large to be safe - and the jods won’t pull all the way up, they’re too small! And I was like, how can I have lost almost 5 stones and not fit in a large!! Apparently large is a size 14, which should fit easily, but hey ho, I’ll get there. (Pic of the set). I need a good sports bra recommendation too, I need to hoike them up!
Nell loved the carrier. She adores people and enjoyed being at “people level” People kept coming up to her going awww, so she milked it. It was a bit small and her leg went to sleep if we left her in it too long, but as long as we pulled her out every 45 mins she was fine.
@ElsieJay we used to go to Badminton regularly but haven’t been for about 5 years since they hiked the prices up. Plus it’s 170 miles away from us.

Apprenante · 14/06/2026 22:35

So .... another photo from a 'good angle'? Accept it @Gingercar, you're looking good!

Gingercar · 14/06/2026 23:55

Thank you. 😘. But I just see the bulge at the top of the pants (where they won’t pull up!). Funny (not) how we see ourselves differently! And I hope I don’t come across as fishing for compliments! 🤪

Apprenante · 15/06/2026 10:13

@Gingercar You don't come across as fishing for compliments at all. Many of us have lost significant amounts of weight and struggle to accept that our 'new' shapes are real. I think we all seek reassurance and that's what you're doing. Feel reassured! I didn't seea a bulge.

I've just bought (on Vinted of course) a sleeveless dress. I have melted candle granny arms. But i'm going to wear the dress because my daughter says no one will care/see the flabby droopy bits. I do know how you feel but we should both be braver! I'll report back ....

Gingercar · 15/06/2026 10:21

🤣🤣Melted candle granny arms!! Bet you haven’t anyway. I hope you feel wonderful in the dress.

SignedUpAgain · 15/06/2026 15:08

Hi everyone. Still more or less not losing. But sticking with it. At least I’m not gaining.

feel great.

target for my height is around another 15kg but I’m not so sure that’s possible or would be good look at my age. We will see.

Gingercar · 15/06/2026 19:27

I’m with you! I was consoling myself today by thinking that I will be an expert at maintaining.
