I had lost a baby calf! 90lbs. Sadly illness has taken me off it. I am glad I am six stones lighter though having to go through this horrible treatment!

DBatteryBand · 24/05/2026 17:31

Sorry to hear about your illness, @Pieceofpurplesky. Hope you’re looking after yourself.

Thanks

Gingercar · 24/05/2026 19:16

Really sorry to hear that @Pieceofpurplesky

Apprenante · 24/05/2026 20:24

So sorry @Pieceofpurplesky . I hope you're getting really good treatment and support in real life. The treatment is brutal.

Pieceofpurplesky · 24/05/2026 22:07

Thanks. As much as I can.

Gingercar · 25/05/2026 21:16

Evening everyone. Hope you’re enjoying the sun. I read something on Facebook about remembering that the body holds onto water to stay hydrated in hot weather, so your scales might show different results than you expected …

Ooh I didn't know that - but makes sense. Thanks for the heads up lovely x

Kbr22 · 26/05/2026 09:47

Thanks for that @Gingercar , Just jabbed and weighed this morning and again sticking at 61kg, though at some point this week I was 60.5 but alas not this morning my official weigh day!!!! I think I will wait until next week when it is raining again to weigh😂Thinking of you @Pieceofpurplesky 🙏

Apprenante · 26/05/2026 11:15

I think you're right @Gingercar . I'm drinking loads of water and not weeing as much as usual. And it's not coming out as sweat either this year - another NSV I guess.

SutekhsEars · 26/05/2026 15:44

Today's NSV: currently wearing a pair of linen trousers I bought in 2004! Can't believe I kept them this long - I haven't been able to wear them in so many years!
On the other hand, my fingers are so swollen by the heat I wasn't sure I'd get my rings off.

HereIGoOnceMore · 28/05/2026 17:39

Finally celebrating my one year anniversary today. I think I may have been the last to join the May gang.

Congratulations on everyone’s successes, it’s been great to have your company and to share your progress - the wins and the challenges. My progress felt glacial at times and there were periods when I thought the scales were glued fast due to lack of movement. Yet here I am a year on, 20% lighter and with a normal BMI. I have 2 pairs of size 10 jeans (that fit) and have been out in shorts in public.

It is hard to overstate just how incredible it is to be normal. To be a normal size, wear normal clothes and look like a normal person in the mirror. I’m also enjoying having higher energy levels and am convinced that I walk faster than I did.

Happy anniversary and well done on our hard work and commitment to us all.

ElsieJay · 28/05/2026 17:45

@Gingercar - thanks for that , was stressing as seem to have gained 2lbs in less than a week for no reason that I can think of !

Haven't been very active on the thread recently , though reading all your updates and love hearing the news , NSVs etc.
Not coping very well with this heatwave, will be glad when it returns to normal May weather - which doesn’t bode too well for Cyprus next month ..

I submitted my usual MJ order to Asda pharmacy earlier , but they wouldn’t process it until I’d forwarded a pic of my weight on my scales , and two full length photos . To be fair, once I’d done that they very quickly messaged to say all was fine . Wonder if you have to do this after a certain time ?
Anyway, will now have two 5mg pens in fridge to recommence microdosing ( and strict calorie counting ! ) when we’re back from forrin parts.

Gingercar · 28/05/2026 23:41

Well done @HereIGoOnceMore .🎉🎉

It’s been a lovely month hearing your successes. Here’s to many more. Thanks for your company- please keep chatting!

DBatteryBand · 29/05/2026 06:51

I wish one of you would come round and confiscate my bank cards. I keep buying clothes. For years I've had to buy whatever I could fit in to but now I fit into everything and it's all too much. I never wear dresses but have bought three this week. I have no idea when or where I will wear them, but keep trying them on and swishing about the house.

Has anyone noticed a change in what you're buying to wear? I used to wear a lot of bright prints and chunky jewellery, but now I'm drawn to very plain, solid colours and hardly wear jewellery at all. It's like for years I've felt I had to dress like a 'jolly fat person' with lively accessories to detract from how I looked and now I don't have to.

HereIGoOnceMore · 29/05/2026 11:02

@DBatteryBand I share that problem. It’s a nice problem to have, and I am getting a lot of joy out of liking clothes again - but golly it’s expensive.

Finding out you don’t look hideous in 90 % of clothes is still completely brilliant though.

SignedUpAgain · 29/05/2026 12:33

Another week and the same no change - I just seem to put the same half a kilo on and off.

is this the weight I’m meant to be? It’s 89kg and yes I’ve lost a lot, but I’m still a chunky size 16 mainly and would like to get a bit smaller.

SussexLass87 · 29/05/2026 17:15

Happy Friday all! 👋

You might remember I was on the hunt for a dress for DH's big military event? Well, it was today and I felt SO different to how I did a year ago!

You have to get a photo ID card each time you go on a Base, they said to me today not to worry as they already had my photo on file...oh my word...I have lost SO much weight from my face. They had to take another photo because the old one wasn't accuracy anymore!! How's that for a NSV?! 😃

I felt fab and comfortable most importantly, and just got to enjoy the day and DH being honoured.

Pic below!

@SussexLass87 you look gorgeous. I hope you had a fabulous day with lots of lovely photos and memories.

@HereIGoOnceMore@DBatteryBandI can relate! Trying to keep my shopping restricted to Vinted whilst slowly offloading some of my larger wardrobe items. But the joy of buying a pair of size 10 Oliver Bonas cropped trousers. I know they’re generously sized but I’m taking the NSV

i agreed with my 14 yo DD a profit share for managing Vinted sales over the summer 🤣

Apprenante · 29/05/2026 18:18

@SussexLass87 what a lovely dress! You look great. You have nice legs too - worth showing off in a dress.

FlorenceNightshade · 29/05/2026 18:32

So many inspiring NSV and Scale Victories well done everyone!!! Such a good reminder to increase water when it’s hotter outside it’s definitely made a difference to me today!

I still weight daily and I’m starting to think that 66kg is a comfortable weight that my body keeps coming back to from a bit over or under, maybe that “set weight” thing has some truth to it after all! Anyone else finding the same?

@SussexLass87 - what a beautiful photograph !
Huge congratulations to your DH , who looks extremely smart in his uniform - I’m sure he is as proud of you as you are of him today.
Excellent choice of dress and accessories , very cool, understated and classy.
Hope this evening you’ll be raising a glass or two of celebratory fizz ! 🍾🥂

DBatteryBand · 29/05/2026 18:59

@SussexLass87 You look fabulous! What a great experience.

@Foreveronaplane I can’t do Vinted. Even the stuff with tags on looks, to me, like it’s been on someone’s wardrobe floor with a cat sleeping on it for the last six months. I am not very clever and lack vision, so don’t seem to be able to persuade myself that after a quick wash and a going over with the iron the stuff will be great. Love the idea of a profit share with 14 year old. I’ve got one of those lying around the house that I could put to similar use.

@HereIGoOnceMore It is fantastic that 90% of clothes now fit, but it’s taking me ages to shop. I used to skulk into the fitting room with the single garment I had found in a shop that I might be able to squeeze into. Now I’m going in with armfuls and button holing random strangers in the fitting rooms for advice.

SussexLass87 · 30/05/2026 13:58

Ohh thank you - you're such a lovely bunch! I was equal parts nervous and excited - hadn't seen some of the people there in almost a year so to rock up having lost almost 3 stone felt a bit nerve wracking.

Hope you're all enjoying the sunshine this weekend x
