I’ve finally taken the plunge and just ordered Wegovy from Asda pharmacy. All been well it should be ready for collection on Tuesday so it would be great to hear from anyone else who has just started or is about start their WLI/Weygovy journey.
I’m very nervous and haven’t told anyone, but I’ve just failed at my 3rd diet attempt this year and feeling horribly self-conscious about my weight and dreading the summer so just thought fuck it, I’m going to give it a go.

I’ve been wondering about WLI for over a year, I too struggled with how to tell dh (of 45 yrs), Having a Dr. prescriber it for high cholesterol worked out to be very convenient. He’s not been judgmental at all, a few times he’s been competitive under eating or asking how much I’ve lost in a weird tone (ounces only ounces was my answer) much better than expected. But equally not sure what I expected.
I’ve told one close friend.

I'm feeling very sick today and yesterday. Kind of like morning sickness in that it's on and off and I can't think about food.

BreakingBroken · 08/05/2026 09:36

That’s no fun @DreamingOfGeneHunt did you increase your dose or stay on 2,5?

IDontKnowWhatYouMean · 08/05/2026 10:07

VividDeer · 07/05/2026 07:50

I'm about 1/2 stone down now, 3 jabs done (one incorrectly).
Just ordered the 0.5 pen but going to stick with 0.25 as long as I can.
Just need to work out how to hide pen in fridge. Was a bit easier hiding in wardrobe! But as I won't be using the next one as quickly, I am going to have to chill it. I'm sure noone apart from me goes into veg draw.

I imagine my dh would be upset I haven't told him. But I didnt want to tell anyone. He did say how well I was doing with portion control so I felt a bit guilty. Maybe its time to confess. He's not overweight and doesn't need injections, but is medical and likely to have an opinion and probably annoy me with them.

Do you mean you are going to make a .5 pen last twice as long by only injecting half the amount each time, and purchasing 4 more needles?

Are the pens all the same? Is it easy to find the .25 mark on the .5 pen? I’m currently with Voy if that makes a difference.

VividDeer · 08/05/2026 10:25

@IDontKnowWhatYouMean yes thats my plan. I think you can buy needles easily although will have 4 to start with.

jabsahoy · 08/05/2026 13:52

Well done fellow losers and those sticking with it through side effects.

Another 1lb off this week- not bad considering there has been beer, cheese, wine and other tasty treats combined with a busy poor choices week. That's 6lb off in 4 weeks and have just started my 2nd pen. Its not coming off as fast as I exoected it might but actually maybe not too shabby really. Dropped into another stone band too!!

BreakingBroken · 08/05/2026 16:19

3 weeks in (although I’ve bumped my jab day to Sunday)
SW 186.6
CW 177.5
GW 140

9.1 loss, I’m eager to see being 10 down.

jabsahoy · 09/05/2026 15:09

absolutely shocking heartburn / reflux today - there's been some other stuff on so not sure if its the new pen being more potent or just life! It's the same dose.

BreakingBroken · 09/05/2026 15:27

@jabsahoy that’s not comfy at all, I hope it settles down for you. Overall my reflux has improved with the smaller lighter meals/portions. For me it’s a lot of trial and error, water makes it worse if too close to bedtime, walking (being upright helps) but not ideal at 2am etc.

jabsahoy · 09/05/2026 16:35

@BreakingBroken I am actually broken today! Horrifically sick this afternoon, might have a cheeky weigh in in the morning, every cloud and all that.

Ibwah · 09/05/2026 17:47

@jabsahoy oh no! Is this side effects? Poor you, I felt bloody awful on Mounjaro and was very sick a lot of the time. Ive not had that on wegovy

@BreakingBroken 9lb is great. I agree, the round number of 10 feels better.

I have a hiatus hernia and always have heartburn. I recommend omeprazole, and in particular find the pyrocalm control particularly effective. I buy over the counter and pretty expensive but otherwise I’m glugging gaviscon.

I had another long work day which was catered yesterday (14 hours). A v healthy lunch but 3 chocolate bars were had (smallish) but still. Also, my daughter ran a kids race today and as a treat we went to a buffet restaurant and it’s all you can eat. I can confirm that I did not eat as much as a normally do but still! I am counting down the days until I can go up to 0.5

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 10/05/2026 08:38

4lbs down today. Very happy with that!

Ibwah · 10/05/2026 09:24

@DreamingOfGeneHunt wow! Have you experienced much in terms of suppression?

jabsahoy · 10/05/2026 09:31

@DreamingOfGeneHunt well done!!

Cheeky weigh in following yesterday's sickness (that went on for several hours and I am wiped out this morning) has me 3lb lighter than Friday and down to 80.2kg! I don't expect that'll stay off till next Fridays jab / weigh in but some of it would be nice.

Ibwah · 10/05/2026 09:37

@jabsahoy are you feeling better? Was it a bug?

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 10/05/2026 10:05

@Ibwah yes, very much. Only on the first dosage and just haven't been hungry at all. I've enjoyed my food when I've had it but not thought about it otherwise.

jabsahoy · 10/05/2026 10:19

@Ibwah really don't know, I think it was a combination of things and was my 5th jab so would be wierd if it was that.

Ibwah · 10/05/2026 15:50

Well glad you’re over it @jabsahoy . I went on the scales this morning and have lost another 2lb. Thats 4lb in two weeks. Will go up a strength though. Was meant to be running a half marathon today but am injured.

BreakingBroken · 10/05/2026 16:10

Happy with hitting the 10lb loss this am.
SW 186.6
CW 176.6
GW 140-145
as per my smart scale; muscle mass going up, fat down, hydration up,
BUT I’m still classed as dehydrated and my fitness level is low.
I could up my exercise minutes and calorie burn goal but want to keep the challenge and expectation low with tons of positive reinforcements. Maybe on Monday am increase by 5 minutes and 50 calories burned?

Ibwah · 10/05/2026 16:39

@BreakingBroken how much water are you drinking?

BreakingBroken · 10/05/2026 16:54

@Ibwah i've increased this week to 80 oz daily from a previous 50-60 range.
i have a 20 oz water bottle (so three times a day) and my 2 mugs of tea (10 oz mugs).

Rockdaylia44 · 10/05/2026 17:04

Has anyone had good success with wegovy ? Have used mounjaro but didn't work for me only lost 3lb in 3 months

Ibwah · 10/05/2026 17:25

@Rockdaylia44 we all just started in the month of April - I have done 2 jabs so too soon to tell.

VividDeer · 10/05/2026 17:41

Yes, 7lbs down after 3 jabs.

itsallabouttobegin · 10/05/2026 17:57

Another 2lb off this week so 11lb in 4 weeks 😊 I’m happy with that. Happy with averaging 2lb off a week over next few months. Moving my jab to Tuesday also seems to have helped a bit with the nights I work at end of week
