BMI under 27 - Off Label/less to lose

ritala · 29/03/2026 12:17

I am mid 40’s and just can’t lose the weight like I used to. I’m fed up of losing and gaming the same two pounds. I’m about a stone and a half more than my happy weight (where I would be approx bmi 23).

I have tried to find a thread for people who have been approved ‘off label’ Wegovy or Mounjaro with less to lose but couldn’t find one, so thought I’d start here. I have a BMI higher than 25 but less than 27 with a couple extra health conditions. Hoping to start after Easter. I’d like to stay with a very low dose if possible. Half a pound a week loss would be good for me. I really want to avoided side effects.

Anyone who is in a similar boat and wants to share experiences or ask questions, please join! X

BMI under 27 - Off Label/less to lose

So I’ve switched to Nulife and pending consultation tomorrow it is booked for next day delivery on Wednesday so only a day later than usual. I have a video call so fingers crossed as it’s significantly cheaper than Voy at £91 for 0.5mg of Weygovy. No discount code but I’m looking for something that is cheaper on going and I can pause/flex if I’m ok stretching a dose or click counting. Will let you know how I get in.

JT1987 · 07/06/2026 12:29

Hi all I’ve cancelled my voy subscription as I just cannot afford their pricing after the first month. Am I going to struggle to find another supplier now even though I’ve got a prescription? My BMI is 25 on the dot, by time I’ve finished this pen likely 24, any recommendations or am I going to have to go back to voy?

kljdhs877 · 07/06/2026 13:14

@JT1987 make sure you’ve kept the box with your label on, that’s your passport to a new provider. You just need one like SwiftDr that do maintenance for lower BMIs, there are a few.

JT1987 · 07/06/2026 14:06

Thank you 🙏🏽 still got the box do you need to go through approval etc again? Just with me already being 25 bmi then only taking for 1 month will anyone else accept me

lechatnoir · 07/06/2026 14:33

@JT1987I’m same as you, with voy wanting to move BMI 25 now - will let you know how I get on with the Nulife consultation tomorrow

kljdhs877 · 07/06/2026 14:35

@JT1987 SwiftDr didn’t ask me anything about starting figures or how long I had been on it. My BMI was under 25 when I changed to them.

That’s great thank you, do you just select phone consultation on the website?

kljdhs877 · 07/06/2026 17:31

@JT1987 I didn’t do a consultation, I just ordered direct. I had to send them a video of me standing on scales.

OnTheTop · 07/06/2026 18:15

What’s everyone thinking for a finish point?

I was wondering about stopping jabbing once I finish this pen (my third one) and see how I feel. I’ll probably keep ordering them to build up a little stash for the fridge in case I need them.

kljdhs877 · 07/06/2026 18:29

@OnTheTop im hoping to microdose, between the reduced food noise, inflammatory benefits and increasing evidence of other health benefits I just want to stick with it tbh, especially as I head into peri.

Yeah, I can see the benefits of that. I’ve definitely noticed the inflammatory effects as well as weight loss.

What are you planning on doing dose-wise. I’m still in the lowest dose of Wegovy and it’s suppressing etc so I would struggle to eat enough to maintain.

Fourkgtogo · 08/06/2026 12:18

Hi everyone, I had my fourth jab this morning. Weighed in at 64.75 (SW-67.4 & GW 58-60kg) I felt that this last week has been slow going although still no side effects 🤞and no appetite for snacks or alcohol. I find it hard to believe that I haven’t had a packet of crisps or a chocolate bar for 3 weeks with no conscious effort required.
my biggest surprise was measuring my waist this morning to discover a TWO inch loss so am over the moon with that.

Despite initially thinking I would only order one pen to kickstart healthy habits…I have my second pen in the fridge and my third already on order. I’m hoping that will be my last but I guess we’ll see! Hope everyone is well today.

NinthBestOption · 08/06/2026 13:31

I've had a poor week, constant food noise and cravings but there's very little I want to eat other than what I'm craving so I've stuck to calorie deficit whilst eating crap!

Did 0.5 jab this morning, my 8th jab. I'm hoping it's just period/hormonal and I'll settle down again soon.

I'm 1kg up from the lowest weight I've seen but 6kg down from the highest weight so not unhappy but disappointed at my cravings.

I get a 1mg pen next week, I'll stay on 0.5mg for at least a few more weeks.

I feel voy were a bit misleading with their pricing.. The 3 months I signed up to was priced at a 0.25mg pen, they automatically move you up the doses and whilst I could change down if I wanted to the auto increase is obviously standard so should have shown in the price. The 1mg pen is best part of £200! I will switch after that.

lechatnoir · 08/06/2026 19:34

Nulife all approved and super easy this morning BUT I went to cancel my Voy and it wouldn't let me - I didn't realise (or remember - not sure which?) I'd signed up to 6 bloody months so I'm stuck with them until September!!! Really could do without £150 every month but nothing I can do now other than hope someone wants a referral code. Nulife had already taken payment & won't refund so I've had to pause my order until september and suck up the double payment this month 😭

BeaKind · 08/06/2026 22:08

Oh no @lechatnoir I feel the pricing schedules are a bit sneaky but that sucks that Nulife won’t refund you!

If anyone wants to try Juniper, they offer a no questions money back guarantee. If you take out a monthly subscription (not 3 or 6 months) you can request a refund within 28 days of delivery. I had my first pen last week and requested a refund this morning (just gave a reason that I didn’t think it was working) and they had refunded me by lunch, so my first month has been free!

Has anyone experienced a pens not working? I’m on Wegovy and on Sunday I jabbed but the pen didn’t go to 0 so I only got a half dose. I could push the button in anymore so just wound it manually back to 0. But not sure if that’s going to cause me any issues when I go to do my next jab 🤷‍♀️ Juniper have actually been pretty good and given me troubleshooting advice to try out on Sunday when I’m due my 3rd dose.

you can cancel Voy but you have to pay a £50 “admin” fee. I was signed up for 3 months and can’t afford their prices so cancelled you just need to speak with their chat function, you can’t do It yourself on the app

JT1987 · 08/06/2026 22:12

Has anyone experienced a really heavy feeling at the top of their tummy? Right under near boobs? I currently feel 6 months preg but down 4lbs 😩🤣

I’m on 2.5mg of MJ currently, I’m hoping I’m still losing although not getting much suppression at the moment (I’m not weighing at the moment, not regularly anyway, will weigh in a couple of weeks) assuming I’m still losing on 2.5 (albeit probably not a lot) I’m hoping 1.25 a week will be enough. I know it won’t give me much suppression as 2.5 isn’t at the moment since I’ve gone back on it, but I’m hoping it’ll be enough to help me maintain.

Is anyone a jogger/runner?
I'm only about to take second dose of MJ tonight. Didn't have any obvious side effects in first week but wow my easy pace 8k run was a STRUGGLE at the weekend! I could have been physically sick from about 4k onwards.
Suppression was high but I was still having about 1200-1400cals a day and had more carbs night before 6am run (never usually eat anything that morning as it's too early).
I'm training for a half marathon in October so just wondering if anyone has any hints/tips on how to lessen the effect on performance if possible.

lechatnoir · Yesterday 09:20

Thanks @JT1987 that’s good to know and I’ll try and do that for next month as the Nulife prescription can be moved . Definitely worth doing as Voy is £149 vs £91 so cheaper even with the admin fee next month.

TheDogsMother · Yesterday 09:23

I’m on my second week of 0.25 with Voy. I’m not really feeling any different and I’m not sure if it’s working yet. Hope it kicks in soon. If anyone is considering Voy I’m sure a few of us can share intro codes.

There is a thread on here about runners on WLI’s somewhere. I read it a few months ago. A lot of people were struggling with their marathon training plans and I think a few had to come off the WLI’s in order to train.

Thanks, I'll have a look for it. I'm not a serious runner and also getting married in September so fitting into the dress > improving half marathon time 😂hopefully I can find a way to make both work.

I don't run seriously these days (since kids!) but I have trained seriously in the past. Pre WLIs I used to get out a few times a week but I've basically stopped entirely for the last month. I've had high suppression and I've struggled to eat enough to feel energised to run. I don't have much to lose and i've decided not to worry about it until I come back off. Could you try a sugary drink in the morning before you set off?
