Welcome @CatAtTheWindow I was in your boat in June and now 4 stone lighter thanks to mj (6 stone 10 in total). I didn't think it would be possible for me but here we are!

I'm starving today, went out for lunch with DS and had an all day breakfast but left the chips as they didn't seem necessary and I was full! So I had a massive lunch but still have hunger so I'm going to make a decaf coffee and see if that fills me up with a kinder bueno for a treat. I have no need for a treat but I'm missing my daily chocolate I was having in hospital so all week I've thought to myself 'you can have it on Friday' so here we are. I will enjoy it!

Thank you @UsernameShmusername2024 , it's been bloody painful, but thankfully easing a bit now the meds have kicked in. My son did jokingly offer to pul the tooth with a pair of pliers, it was very tempting!!

@Doggymummar I'm also still using my stash from August. When that's gone, I am going to switch every month and make use of all the new user discounts codes. Also, Medicine Marketplace have just dropped all their prices, and claim to be the cheapest provider now, so that might be worth a look.

Hello @CatAtTheWindow and welcome. Looking forward to sharing your journey with you

What I like about 5 day dosing is moving away ftom having a "Jab Day" (ie "Thursdays are my jab days"). It has similar psychology to "Weigh Day" for me - in that it discourages consistent eating because I have predictable times of being very restrictive. It has vibes of refusing to eat and making sure you have a poo before Slimming World weigh-in.

I don't split does at the minute, but did at the start and over Christmas. And I plan to when titrating down (2st to go).

What I have found helpful in terms of weighing without a "Weigh Day" is that I stand on the scales every morning. This records my weight every day on the app and so I don't have a specific day when I look out how much I lost that week - instead just note a general downward trend.

I like this approach @AmberLime and I think I need to consider it more.

I’m currently on 10mg and have a 10 in the fridge and one on order. I think I’m going to do 5 day dosing and see where I go. I’m hungry more quickly - I jabbed on Wednesday and was hungry yesterday so full-on suppression is v much on the wane, but the fullness is still in place when I do eat.

But otoh, a bit of willpower is a good thing!

I’ll give it a go and if it’s too hard I could go up with extra clicks…

Anyone using Shotsy, you can set the dosing interval to whatever you want, so put it to 5 days and it will tell you when your day falls.

@MrTiddlesTheCat can I ask who your supplier is? I want to avoid the newer pen!

@MrTiddlesTheCat isn't in this country and she gets hers via doctor's prescriptions at her pharmacy.

Welcome @CatAtTheWindow , you are in the best place, this is such a supportive thread. I started last May at 22 stone and have just hit the 6 stone down mark, I didn’t think I’d ever see number like this on the scales again to be honest and there are so many non scale victories along the way too. My first goal is a BMI under 30 and will see from there (currently 36 from a start over 50).

Good luck with your journey!

PositiveAttitude · 20/02/2026 19:06

Missingducks · 20/02/2026 13:46

As you know I finally dipped under 20stones and was entering in my app-tracker but adjusted the stones first and then the lbs and didn't realise adjusting the lbs automatically wound it back another stone. Didn't notice for a couple of days. So now my tracker looks as though I have dipped and then climbed by a whole stone.

So infuriated that even my secret tracking was trying to trick me.

And of course it doesn't matter. But I like a graph! This is why I should have stuck to kg.

I messed up with my app too. My brain just did not compute that I had gone down a stone and into a lower number, so I logged that I had gone up nearly a stone instead. I was able to go into the setting and delete the entries that were wrong and put in the correct ones. I always love a chart and am a spreadsheet queen, so I understand your frustration.

Welcome @CatAtTheWindow. You have joined the best thread here.

I am in Edinburgh for the weekend and we have just had a meal. I chose a starter with a side salad. I had a snarky remark from the owner about being a cheapskate, but I couldn't even eat all of that!! (Cheeky bugger!!! )

OK thank you, so jab day is day 0.
I feel like I have been counting wrong this whole time🙃

I rely on shotsy to remind me - you can just change the number of days between jabs. I did the same and over thought it 😂

Oooft lost you all for a bit! Back tomorrow for weigh in x

PearlsTeapot · 20/02/2026 21:41

I’ve changed every month too! It takes a bit of time but is no problem. I’m not changing now. I’m sticking with medicine marketplace but that’s because they issue me it while I’m on lithium, and loads of other places I tried said no.

CatAtTheWindow · 20/02/2026 22:20

Thank you all for your very warm welcome.

It's interesting to read others saying they can't believe they've lost the weight they have. That's just how I feel now, I can't imagine that it could be possible.

I absolutely didn't believe that I'd lose nine and a half stone.
It's taken 25 months but it's happened.

You'll be the same, but possibly faster than it's taken me because I'm now 69.

Younger women lose weight much more quickly.

Thanks @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne
I'm a bit younger than you, but not much and I definitely agree it gets harder the older we get.

Theringcycle · 21/02/2026 05:10

hiya can I join you here? Started 2 weeks ago on Mounjaro, starting weight 130kg, lost 4kg very quickly but expecting it to slow. Don’t even know a goal weight as it seems such a long way away but I want my health metrics to improve. I’m T2D, high blood pressure and cholesterol, proteinuria, so have been NHS-prescribed as other medication isn’t controlling my diabetes. The dr and the kidney specialist say I have a great chance now to stave off future complications (I’m 50). I’m also on a helpful group for Feb starters but have more in common with you lovely lot.

Welcome ..it's a great thread here with fab people..you will get all the help you need xx

GnomeDePlume · 21/02/2026 06:13

Welcome @Theringcycle I'm another on mounjaro prescribed for T2D.

I started about 14 months ago. Now 7 stone down with 5 to go.

Do make sure that you are getting regular reviews of any medication you are on. Mounjaro does impact how medications are absorbed. Sometimes counter . intuitively. My levothyroxine has gone down but my warfarin has gone up.

Castlebark · 21/02/2026 08:36

I'm also hopping over from the new Feb starter's thread. I've got such a long journey ahead, it's great to hear from those at all stages.

I've had a flying start, as expected
SW: 122.7 kg (19st 4lb)
CW: 118.8 kg (18st 10lb)

So 3.9 kg loss in my first week (8.6lb). I'm fully expecting that to slow right down now. I did my second jab yesterday, but haven't noticed any new effects, positive or negative.

I survived my first meal out yesterday, ordering well and still not fully finishing the plate. Unheard of a week ago! I'm also completely avoiding any sweet treats or crisps. I'm not sure if that's purely through MJ, or more psychological, not wanting to ruin it all by falling off the wagon so early.

Did you switch to wegovy? I'm sure someone in the group did? I'll look at medicine market place but I think I'll have to switch, noone seems to want to employ me currently!

Thank you re the medication reminder - I have to go see the diabetes specialist at my GP after the first month so will make sure everything keeps under review. My main other medication is the blood pressure medication, which will need a close eye kept on it.

Mum2Fergus · 21/02/2026 09:52

Wk52 weigh in this morning (wk20 on 7.5mgs) … a full year on MJ!! Keeping the fanfare low with having stayed the same since last week. That said I’m delighted at that given the copious (for me) amounts eaten while on holiday!

SW (15 Feb 25): 19st 9lbs / BMI 44.4 (obese class 3)
CW: 13st 13lbs / BMI 31.5 (obese class 1)
GW: healthy BMI (between 18.5 and 24.9 (8.3st-11st) for my height) - 2st 13lbs to go to get to top of healthy range. Goal to reach that by my birthday in October.

I’ve lost 29% of my starting weight and averaging 1.6lbs loss per week over the 52 weeks.

Wks 1-4 (2.5mg): -17lbs
Wks 5-8 (2.5mg): -6lbs
Wks 9-12 (2.5mg): -11lbs
Wks 13-16 (5mg): -7lbs
Wks 17-20 (5mg): -4lbs
Wks 21-24 (5mg): -7lbs
Wks 25-28 (5mg): -7lbs
Wks 29-32 (5mg): -4lbs
Wks 33-36 (7.5mg): -5lbs
Wks 37-40 (7.5mg): -4lbs
Wks 41-44 (7.5mg): -0lbs
Wks 45-48 (7.5mg): -6lbs
Wk49 (7.5mg): -0lbs
Wk50 (7.5mg): -1lb
Wk51 (7.5mg): -1lb
Wk52 (7.5mg): -0lbs

Total loss: 80lbs (5st 10lbs)

Isntparentingbrilliant · 21/02/2026 10:02

Morning.
I have been on wli for 13 months

sw 315 lb / 135kg. BMI 51 ish
cw 217lb/ 99kg / 15st7. BMI 35

on 15mg now

honestly I can’t believe how much I have lost . Even though I have slowed down to about 5lb per month I’m still losing.

next target is the 100lb mark maybe next week.

then to get to 199lb by summer.

I haven’t been this weight for about 15 years.

trying to think of a long term plan re the jabs , as the cost is a massive concern. I haven’t resigned myself to using them for the rest of the year , in hope of a price reduction afterwards.

and try not to think of the massive dent in my mortgage that £300 per month would have made 🫣
