I posted a photo of myself on Facebook today. One friend answered: "Canaritini?! You're looking good!" What the heck am I supposed to reply to that comment? "Yes, it's me. I'm glad you don't find me ugly anymore."?😬

Just say 'feeling good'

PearlsTeapot · 26/02/2026 20:41

I now weigh what I weighed when I gave birth to DS, nearly 16 years ago. That's a funny feeling!

I'm happy to report that my heated throw survived being washed and is now back in service.

Thank the lord, was worried 😫

Doggymummar · 26/02/2026 21:11

TragicMuse · 27/02/2026 08:10

A landmark NSV for me.

I bought a pair of jeans in about 1994, from Affleck’s in Manchester. They are vintage Levi 501s, but dyed purple. The shop had them dyed in all colours.

They were a little snug when I bought them but they fit.

I bought them when I was 29. I’m now 61. I’ve been lugging them around for years. Through 5 house moves, always in th hope I could wear them because they’re vintage Levi 501s and they’re purple. Obviously.

Today they fit and comfortably!

No stretch, no Lycra.

I cannot begin to tell you how happy they make me!

MCR24 · 27/02/2026 08:41

Oh Afflecks used to be great, not been for years. Wish I'd kept all my 2000s clothes!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 27/02/2026 08:55

That is amazing @TragicMuse!

Theringcycle · 27/02/2026 09:15

Amazing @TragicMuse ! I so wish I’d kept my Levi’s from when I was younger - I had 3 pairs (blue, black, white) that I wore throughout the six form (the biggest size they did at that point but hey). By the time I went to uni, and certainly within a term of being there, I’d put on weight. I have been thinking about my weight as I’ve always been fat and I remember weighing 14 stone when I was 14, and then rapidly 16 stone, then for all of my adult life I’ve been 19-plus (sometimes a long way plus). The numbers that many of you have reached after being a similar weight to me totally feel like an impossible fantasy to me.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 27/02/2026 09:20

Who remembers when a size 14 was FAT and a size 16 (horror) would have sent you to Weight Watchers in despair?

Yes, I'm going back many, many years, and sizes have changed a lot since my youth in the 1960s and 1970s.

I was looking at my jumper last night when I was getting ready for bed. It's a size 8 - 10 but I know jolly well that when I was a teenager (1970s) it would have been about a 12 - 14.

Fffreeeeezing · 27/02/2026 10:52

I've always wanted a pair of Diesel jeans and last time I lot a significant amount of weight (the Lighter Life era) I promised myself a pair when I got to goal. I never got there so never got the jeans. Maybe this time!

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 27/02/2026 11:00

I'd love a pair of really good quality jeans but they're so expensive I struggle to justify the money. Maybe if I manage to maintain at goal for 12 months that can be my reward as I know they'll fit for a long time!

I don't know how quality they are these days but Levi's outlets usually have jeans on clearance obviously gotta get lucky them having your size in a style you want but if you have one near and you're not in a rush it might be worth calling in. It's one of the things I want to buy but I'll need to do some measurements of my legs as they are not in proportion!

This resonates heavily. I remember going to Chelsea Girl in about 1981 or so and bought a white New Romantic shirt, with a frilly front, and a pair of red trousers. They were a 14. I felt huge all the time. A 16 would have been beyond the pale. School uniform was hard to get in my size, in fact clothes in general weren’t particularly easy…

TragicMuse · 27/02/2026 12:39

@Theringcycle I’ve been over 19 stone for a good few years, creeping up from anything from 15s to 17s for years before that. I’m in the 12s now after a year…

You can do this!

Thank you @TragicMuse - this is so encouraging to hear! It’ll take me a long time to get my head round this I think - and then another long time to manage family reactions / relationships when I’ve always been the fat one.

Week 47, and I've stayed the bloody same this week, argh!! So for the last 4 weeks, I've been losing and gaining the same lb, and now weigh the same as I did at the end of January. Not a single lb lost for a whole bloody month!! I'm really trying to look at the bigger picture, and of course, it still means I am 6 1/2st down, but it's so flaming frustrating. I'm tracking, and doing everything right, so I know it will start moving again soon, but if anyone can given it a nudge for me, it would be much appreciated 😊. I am still hoping to get to 7st for my jabiversary in 5 weeks, fingers crossed.

SW 22st 8lb
CW 16st 8lb still 🤬
GW interim 11st 4lb

How's everyone else's week going? More productive than mine, I hope x

Well I haven't lost any weight, but I've had a couple of days of eating crap, so it's my own fault.

You've had a stressful week Broon, I think you can allow yourself a few days of eating crap 💐. How are you doing?

RenegadeKeeblerElf · 27/02/2026 14:29

I've had a bit of an odd few days - my brain wants to binge, but my stomach isn't letting it - I get an urge to eat a brownie/biscuit/whatever but when I actually imagine myself doing it, it just doesn't appeal as I am full/not craving it. I guess it's the difference between psychological reasons for overeating like boredom/emotions (which clearly haven't gone away) and physical ones like blood sugar/hunger signals which have been resolved. It makes me realise how much I need the MJ to stay on track - without it I would find it so much harder to control those urges and would probably be eating everything in sight like normal.

I remember my grandma in the70stelling me when she married my grandad could join his hands up round her waist. Anything over a size 10 was plus sized in her mind. I was never as small as her but she was probably a 0 or 2 in today's world.
