Who is going to switch to Wegovy from Mounjaro?

A thread for those of us who are considering or already actioning this change due to pricing or other reasons…..

I’m with Oushk - been on 15mg for 4 months and MJ for 13 months in total. Some (manageable) side effects at 7.5mg. I’ve lost 35lb in 13 months and nothing for the last 2 months.

I have toyed with switching to W due to the slow loss on MJ, to see if it’s any different. I’m not ‘chasing suppression’ and I am putting in the work (cal counting, diet overhaul, exercise, etc) but now with the price hike I might make the change at my next order.

Is anyone else thinking similar? What’s your thought process?

Has anyone already switched to W after a year on MJ ? I’d love to hear your experiences

I'm currently on 7.5mg of Monujaro but I've only got 4 weeks left! There's noway I can afford the new prices so will definitely have to swap to Wegovy. Not sure if I should order 1mg or 1.7mg - don't want any side effects, I've been lucky with Monujaro and not had many.

I was swapped to 1mg wegovy from 10mg mj but only took half- 0.5mg the first week. I took 1mg this week and it is stronger in terms of feeling full but yes getting more 'food noise' than I did on mj.

However less nausea for me, so trying to keep going with it.

Maybe give yourself a double dose next jab day and see how you get on, I did a 0.25 this morning in addition to the 0.5 yesterday. I’m going to see how the next few days go once it peaks in my system otherwise I think I’ll need to go to a 1mg pen next order. To be honest I think I got a bit complacent on MJ and this has been a wake up call. I also gained half a stone but I need to get back to eating protein rich meals and snacks to try to placate this hunger.

1mg definitely feels stronger. A bit too strong maybe. I'm thinking of going back to 0.5mg. Interesting how we are all different on it.

You may need time to adjust, whenever I increased on MJ the suppression was strong initially. This gives me hope for increasing on Wegovy though if you’re finding 1mg strong. Hopefully this is just an adjustment period for all of us switchers 🤞🏻

This was interesting, just came out this week..

I have just ordered 1mg Wegovy after being off Mounjaro 4 and half weeks. I was on 10mg but it was wiping me out I was offered 1.7 mg but went for 1mg instead. I am a bit worried about the side effects from starting at 1mg and now I’m wondering if I should take half a dose and then another half a few days later? I know microdosing isn’t advised but just worrying now that I should have started from scratch.

I felt the same and took half a dose the first week (0.5mg) in case of side effects but it was OK, took the full dose of 1mg the following week. (this week) It's been fine but I think I preferred the first week as it feels a bit strong.

Thank you I think I will try a half dose with it being so long since I’ve had any medication in my system.

I too will be switching when next 2 monjaro pens run out, cannot afford to stay on mj, am only on lower dose due to side effects, have had a good loss 2 stone in 3 months, am very interested to see how peoples journey with wegovy go! Good luck to you all!

Im going to, I've only been on my for 3 months and am still on low dose due to side effects. Im calorie counting etc. Had a good loss of 2 stone in 3 months. Cannot afford mj, so will be switching when next 2 pens run out. Im also interested in people's journey moving forward on wegovy!

I have two weeks of Monujaro left but finally ordered Wegovy. Originally, it was for 1mg but the pharmacy said i need to drop down to 0.5ml and start on that.
How have people found their Wegovy journey so far?

I’m about to order my 1mg wegovy after finishing the 0.5mg. I tried 0.5, 0.75 and 1mg after moving from a 5mg MJ pen. Hunger has definitely decreased after doubling the last dose thank god! I’ll see how I go on 1mg for the next month but I need to put more effort into not having treats etc and start monitoring my weight again. I’ve just returned from a week away and haven’t weighed for a couple weeks. I don’t want to lose weight fast as I’m starting to see loose skin. I’m down 3 stone and ideally want to lose another 6 but will see how I go/look.

I went from 95kg down to 67kg this year with dieting then going into Mounjaro. I’m easing off it now but switching to Wegovy to do that. Start Wegovy in the new year.

Switched to wegovy and good noise came straight back and I out put on 9lb.

back on MJ and have lost it all again. Sod the cost - think I’m on MJ for life now.

Wondering if anyone is having success with wegovy? Partly time of year but I’ve regained more this week and also have been finding the side effects worse

I’ve had the same experience w Wegovy. Was on it for 3 months and did nothing for me.

I am worried this will be me too. I know it’s been Christmas but in the 3 months I’ve been on it (might be 4- I’m on 1.7 now) I’ve regained 11 lbs

Wondering about the tablets , is it Ryblesus? Might be cheaper ? I cannot afford £300 a month but maybe the other option for me is going to be that or maybe lower dose Mounjaro

The new semaglutide tablet is just called Wegovy I think. Rybelsus is an earlier tablet form of semaglutide at a lower dose which was used for T2 diabetics. It was not really used for weight loss, especially in the UK as it wasn’t licensed for that. The new Wegovy tablet hasn’t been approved in the UK yet, and will likely take several months from whenever the application goes in.

Thanks, I just had a look and saw the same. I wonder if I should try the wegovy at the highest dose then decide . Interested that it’s not only me struggling with the change though

Switched from mounjaro to wegovy at the start of the year. Started on 0.25mg then 0.5mg and noticed less appetite suppression. Now on 1mg and suppression is good. Cheaper to switch.
