Who is going to switch to Wegovy from Mounjaro?

A thread for those of us who are considering or already actioning this change due to pricing or other reasons…..

I’m with Oushk - been on 15mg for 4 months and MJ for 13 months in total. Some (manageable) side effects at 7.5mg. I’ve lost 35lb in 13 months and nothing for the last 2 months.

I have toyed with switching to W due to the slow loss on MJ, to see if it’s any different. I’m not ‘chasing suppression’ and I am putting in the work (cal counting, diet overhaul, exercise, etc) but now with the price hike I might make the change at my next order.

Is anyone else thinking similar? What’s your thought process?

Has anyone already switched to W after a year on MJ ? I’d love to hear your experiences

I switched from mounjaro to wegovy and back again. I have the full feeling but no suppression of food noise.

I was on 5mg of MJ and moved over to 0.5mg of Wygovy. I've done a week now. The appetite suppression is insane, I'm struggling to get my calories in which concerns me as I'm usually quite responsible...and the only side effect I've had is a bit of a headache I can't kick . Also I felt the suppression almost immediately after injecting, not a day later like with MJ.
(I'm beginning to understand why Sharon Osborne looks the way are does after using semaglutide!)

I’m really confused about pricing now and the threads on here are sooo long. I’ve been on Wegovy from Simple Online for a year and had been paying £253 for max dose (2.4). They used to let me buy up to 3.
Have just bought latest pen and now only £179! But can only buy one. Is this some side effect of the Mounjaro price change? Happy to be saving £74 a month if that’s the case.

Oh that’s very interesting! Thanks for posting.

I’ve been a slow responder on MJ, on 15mg for 4 months and lost about 10lbs only in that time. I wondered if I would respond ‘better’ to Wegovy.

Have you noticed any other differences? Did you get tired on MJ? I’m one day post jab and going to bed now at 8.30 - always the same the next day with extreme fatigue!

My Wegovy is arriving on Wed but I’ve got 2 or 3 more MJ to do from my last pen before I start.

Hi everyone I'll be following this thread with interest as I've had to stop MJ due to the increase but still have around 1 stone to lose

JaceLancs · 08/09/2025 22:21

I’ve just ordered a 5mg from medexpress and will be cancelling she med as soon as I receive it
I am losing 2lb a week on average and the side effects aren’t too bad so will stick with what I know
Was paying £159 from SheMed before price increase

Same for me, I was on 5mg MJ, I’ve just done my first 0.5mg wegovy and will see how this week goes! I’ll welcome better appetite suppression to be honest as I’ve found myself having some cake a little too often lately 😅

Orangesandlemons77 · 10/09/2025 16:35

I just took my first 0.5mg wegovy yesterday changing over from mounjaro. I was actually sent a 1mg pen but am a bit of a wimp and was worried about side effects so thought I would start at a lower dose and counted clicks for half a dose.

It's early days but so far the faint nausea and upset tummy I used to have on MJ seem a bit better but I'm unsure how much appetite suppression I am getting, however maybe that will take time.

I had no breakfast, then. 'meal deal' veggie sandwich, some melon and kombucha for lunch and now an apple, not feeling hungry, will see how I am later.

I am really hoping wegovy might help me in maintenance - I have lost 5 stone in a year on MJ and now at BMI 28 (from 40) was hoping to get to BMI 25 but not too bothered as long as I stay under BMI 30 for the future.

If it works out, I will use a pen every 8 weeks, using half a dose from whatever dose pen works. It is still a stretch for me to afford WLI and I have discounts with Voy for £100 each pen for the foreseeable future 9as long as they keep the discount in place) so e.g. 1mg is £189 so would be £89 over 8 weeks which should be OK. I have also recently invested in a gym pass with a pool.

I am hoping to get to a place where I have a bit more energy than on the higher doses of MJ with few side effects so if that means a lower dose that is OK. I'm not looking for rapid weight loss anyway more about regaining.

Will be very interesting to see how you get on as I'm looking at switching to wegovy and probably ordering at the end of the week.

If you're only looking for maintenance, do you think you'll stop wegovy if you continue to lose?

No, I won't stop, I would ideally like to be under BMI 25.

Bigoldmoneypit · 10/09/2025 20:00

I intend to be on mounjaro for life. I’ve got 4 years worth currently.

Really? I have a few pens too but they all seem to expire 2026 and 2027. I think they usually expire about 2 years after the start? Will you use them over the expiry date?

No, I bought the base ingredient and froze it all.

??

I don't think the pens freeze well, unsure about the 'base ingredient'

Sounds well dodgy to be honest

The base ingredient is a peptide. It’s shipped in powder form and then made up in a pharmectucial manufacturer in a sterile environment. The peptide can be frozen before it is reconstituted.

And where do you get this from?

A company that supplies the pharmaceutical cos. Not illegal but not quite legal. But for the grand price of £274 I have 4 years of 5mg in my freezer. Took a gamble had it independently tested for £100 and it is 99.78% Tirzepatide. It is very likely I will increase my stockpile as I am absolutely terrified of being without it. It’s not even the weight loss part - it heavily impacts the addictive dopamine chasing aspects of my ADHD. It has given me a better quality of life so yes - went out on a very narrow long limb and was lucky

It’s more than not quite legal though isn’t it, and it’s sold so cheap for good reasons isn’t it, and the good reason is all the global health authorities inc the fda have expressed concerns over risk to life for it, due to impurities that appear and often non sterile environments. You surely don’t get every one tested, and what was the other o,22 percent of stuff in there ?

Hi all, so today is jab day 2 of wegovy and I have been ravenous! I wondered if it was hormones as it was TOTM but that ended days ago. I’ve also gained weight when I weighed in today 🙈 Part of me is regretting swapping and part of me is wondering if I just need to up the wegovy dose. I’m going to sleep on it and might consider doing a half dose tomorrow to see how that goes but I’ve been eating everything in sight 😭

CallMeStella · 15/09/2025 23:23

Oh also I wanted to add, I just saw a lot of pharmacies are offering price locks for 6 months! So if I decide to switch back I will have to change pharmacy!

I’m on week 3 of Wegovy and I feel the same! The ravenous feeling isn’t subsiding. I’m counting down to my dose going up but I can totally relate to this. I didn’t have any of this on MJ! X

Oh gawd, which mg are you on? I’m taking the 0.5 but I think tomorrow I need to do half a dose more and pray! I was never ravenous on MJ and part of me is missing those initial appetite suppression days 😭🤣

I’m on 0.25 🤦🏻‍♀️ currently going through a complaint with the provider as they never matched me to my MJ dose but that’s another story! Maybe I should stop hoping to see any improvement any time soon if 0.5 is the same for you. I’m so tempted to go back to MJ but it’s just so expensive!

Loopylou7219 · 16/09/2025 08:14

@jannewx Do you mind me asking have you lost any weight on wegovy despite being hungry? I have my first pen and am waiting until I have a clear ish day before injecting in case of side effects.

I have only gained unfortunately. About half a stone 😔
