Who is going to switch to Wegovy from Mounjaro?

A thread for those of us who are considering or already actioning this change due to pricing or other reasons…..

I’m with Oushk - been on 15mg for 4 months and MJ for 13 months in total. Some (manageable) side effects at 7.5mg. I’ve lost 35lb in 13 months and nothing for the last 2 months.

I have toyed with switching to W due to the slow loss on MJ, to see if it’s any different. I’m not ‘chasing suppression’ and I am putting in the work (cal counting, diet overhaul, exercise, etc) but now with the price hike I might make the change at my next order.

Is anyone else thinking similar? What’s your thought process?

Has anyone already switched to W after a year on MJ ? I’d love to hear your experiences

I’ve just had an email from Medicine Marketplace stating that they won’t ’initiate’ treatment with Wegovy because my BMI (26) is too low 🤯. I’ve emailed back to clarify but I need a back-up.

Please can anyone recommend a supplier who will support a transfer to Wegovy from MJ 7.5mg with a BMI of 26?

Voy would do this they also have a discount on wegovy at the moment

@Lunarpsychobitch wow you should really shop around for Weygovy prices this is so much more than I’m paying.

One of the maintenance pharmacies would probably be your best bet pharmulous, Swift doctor or cloud would be worth a try. MMP are being very rigid with this and will only let people swap if they meet the current prescribing guidelines.

Hey all, I just wanted to add a comment as my 0.5 wegovy pen is arriving tomorrow. WePrescribe price matched to £89.99, they always price match for me and have been amazing since I started on MJ in April. I take 5mg MJ, injected today and will be starting wegovy next Tuesday. I went by WePrescribe’s MJ to Wegovy chart which said to get the 0.5 pen. I’ve always paid the same amount for MJ as I paid for the wegovy despite currently using the 7.5mg pen to administer 5mg a week. Definitely a supplier I would recommend! Hi @Lunarpsychobitch I’ve not switched yet I’m just finishing my last pen before ordering, but I’m with Curely. I can’t see how to upload a picture of the prices list here but 1.0mg Weygovy is £107 (with subscription- which can be cancelled anytime) £119 without subscription. Lower doses are cheaper (just under £100). I think the highest dose is £147.

I've been on MJ 12.5 dose for 8 months. I've just ordered a 15mg pen and am going to try either counting clicks for a smaller dose every week, OR injecting closer to every 2 weeks to get a pen to last me 7-8 weeks. Paying every other month would be amazing. If this test doesn't work in either of these ways, I will be moving to wegovy.

I'd like to do this too, only thing is the pharmacy might not let you order every second month?

They won't. You would have to order on schedule and build up a stockpile.

I didn't know that. Well if this test works, then I'll order for 3 months then stop, spread them out in terms of use and paying them off and reevaluate my next move after that, hopefully that point will be 6 months down the line haha.

I've read posts on this board from posters who say that they have found doctors willing to prescribe on a more extended schedule, sanction click-counting, etc, but for online pharmacies with prescribing pharmacists the rule seems to be pretty firmly enforced.

Ok got my first Weygovy. Do I leave it two weeks from the last Mj injection or 1 week?

I’m probably going to switch. I’ve got 9 weeks worth of mounjaro to use first so a few weeks before I need to decide.

I was told one week so effectively the same dosing schedule as with MJ

I switched from 5mg MJ to 0.25 wegovy last week. Although side effects have been minimal, my appetite has definitely increased since switching. I’m counting down to next month where my wegovy dose will go up. I didn’t expect to feel so hungry in the first week of switching!

I'm not sure if I posted up thread, but I have been watching.
I decided to swap, I was issued a prescription and it was sent out. Only, it was a lower dose than I was led to believe, and I didn’t get the care package we were told about in the SheMed email.
so, as of this morning, I have ordered from another supplier, and told SheMed to cancel my forthcoming subscription.
I’m hoping the MJ comes by Thursday!

Of course! My second dose is on Tuesday, my appetite is really back. Trying to be as healthy as possible but the craving of unhealthy foods is definitely there 😭

Yes I have switched. I've a little stash of MJ and then will begin Wegovy. Very pleased with Medexpress. I got a 5mg mj from them and they gave me an 0.5 Wegovy. I'm.hoping that will be all I need.

I wish I knew this was possible, I feel like I’ve wasted money on 0.25 wegovy when I was originally on 5mg MJ.

Just jumping on , I’m on 10mg of mounjaro, I have 2 full pens but just redid my prescription with juniper and moving straight over to 1.7mg of Wegovy

They asked me about side effects and I had had very little. I was on 15mg but because of big gap in ordering due to stash they would only give me 5.
