Welcome to thread 11 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!
Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we throw away the tent dresses, have no chub rub and wear ALL the damn shorts as we head towards Summer Holiday Season. 🙌

Join us here to celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and generally mutually admire our new svelte frames!

I’m on W29 D5 and on my third 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 10st 1.8lbs
GW 9st 13.9 (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 51.2 lbs

We recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.

Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for managing side effects, exercise tips, tips for maintenance, titrating up or down and we love a wellness/supplements/beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Ooh have fun at Kylie!

Get the kiwi fruit in to get the 💩 going 😉

I'm working through a punnet of nectarines, as I normally avoid them for the rapid effect they have on my bowels!

@Goldleafcat I’ve been wearing bikini tops with cycling shorts type bottoms for swimwear on holiday.
I bought a bunch like the link then ended up ditching the tops for normal bikini tops, not the most economical way to do it. And don’t recommend seafancy they took forever to come.
But I felt so comfortable and easy for the loo, no worries about stray hairs etc.

Hello! Hurrah hurrah I am finally in the 11 stone club 🥳 And thanks to a mini whoosh, I have also sailed past my 3 stone rosette award 🏵🏵🏵 So much excitement! I've decided to officially switch over to Stones and lbs now after weighing myself so far in kg. So that makes a 44lb loss 🥳🥳🥳

By my calculations I have 8lbs to lose to get me into a healthy BMI category. It blows my mind that I'm here. And makes me a bit sad that I spent a long time thinking this weight was fat and disgusting but after losing 3 stone I feel bloody fabulous!

Woohoo! 🎉 Congrats

I have only ever done left and right thigh. Maybe it’s time to try my large flabby tummy. There’s still plenty of skin there 😂

I’ve only ever done the tummy apron 😂

3rd jab of 2nd 10mg pen
(Not too sure how many total weeks to count as I had to have a medical 3 week pause in January, then moved down a pen for a month, before going back up again),

SW 16.5
CW 12.9
Total loss 3 stone 10

I didn't weigh in last week so It's a 3lb loss over the two weeks which I am delighted with, as I had my birthday and a family event in the first week.

Just ordered my next 10mg pen.
SE's much less now than when I first moved up to 10mg, and good level of suppression means I start to feel full while eating (which stops me having too much) and don't get hungry between meals. But if I leave it too long between meals I do feel a bit hungry which is good as I find the nausea/indigestion really kicks in if I have too long a gap between meals. The 10mg pen is also lasting for 7 days, whereas the lower doses faded off after day 5.

Fantastic to read about everyones successes.
@MsRumpole @Pumpkinforever fantastic achievements
@evilharpy you are sooooo close!
@Mounjaropen I am in awe that you are still keeping up your exercise routine on holiday. Definitely inspires me to do the same.

It's 4 weeks and 2 days until we go on holiday. I am hoping that I will get my 4 stone award by then, just 4 lb to go so very achievable (without any unforeseen hiccoughs!)

Wore new swimming costume this week (3rd size down since starting), its on the snug side but the previous one was quite baggy and in danger of showing a lot more than I would care to reveal in a public swimming pool! 🙈😂

🥳 happy holiday prep!

DH was asking if I was ‘going to stop soon’ the other night..but I’m still 1/2 stone heavier (at least) than when we first met and a stone and a half since I last felt genuinely thin. Somewhere in the middle is the sweet spot I reckon.

Urgh you big/ small show off! Totally happy and not jealous because I think I'm still going to be just shy of my 4 stone rosette tomorrow. I took loperamide on Tuesday as I didn't want to risk cocktails and noodles causing tummy issues for my O2 date with Kylie, but now I'm not optimistic that I'll have the necessary Big Poo before tomorrow's weigh in 😂

OMG Kylie was AMAZING wasn’t she! Definitely worth holding on to the 💩 for!

😂 Not sure if 'well worth being bunged up' is the best review of her career, but hell yeah! She's so good. I think my dad finds it hilarious that I have the same favourite popstar that I did when I was 8, but she keeps delivering!
Pre Mounjaro my digestive system was stupidly reactive. It interpreted any degree of excitement in the same way it did stress, so I've had years of panicking about how it'd behave at a concert. So refreshing to take the pills out of habit rather than urgent need.

Novjaro · 05/06/2025 19:47

Fair point re the review @PinkArt 😆. It’s quite possibly the best pop concert I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to lots (including loads of Kylie since 1989!). Fabulous night (well 3 nights as I went 3 times!). And you can’t beat a precautionary Imodium. Glad you had fun too.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 05/06/2025 20:16

😂 Best Kylie review ever!

Dilemma: stick on 10mg or go up to 12.5mg? I’ve had two 10 mg pens and I’ve nearly finished the second one. I’ve lost very slowly this last month, but my BMI also hit a healthy level. Ah bugger it, I’ve decided to stick to 10. It’s marginally cheaper, and with luck it might be my last weight loss pen before I start to try to maintain. The plan for that is to taper back down slowly.

evilharpy · 06/06/2025 08:48

5 stone!!!

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar I am on 10mg and don't think I'll increase any further. My side effects have settled and I really don't want to go through the gastric misery again!

Goldleafcat · 06/06/2025 08:51

Happy Friday everyone!

Only 1lb off this week but I’m ok with that (especially as I think I was a bit dehydrated last Friday!). It was 1.8lbs but then the scales changed their mind 🧐😩

Quick recap:
SW 16 stone 7
CW 12 stone 9 (2lbs from 4 stone!)
GW 11 stone (or 10 stone 7, maybe!)

I am now 2lbs away from the lightest weight I’ve been in years (2020 / 40th birthday). If I get below that we are back in 2003 territory!

I’ve had a lot more people commenting on how I look ‘well’ and ‘have you lost weight?’. Have not divulged I’m on MJ.

I’ve found I can suddenly fit into a lot of things I’d packed away back in 2021 / 2022 when they were all too small which is exciting. What’s interesting though is when I was this weight previously I felt really quite slim (as it was a lot thinner than I had been, at my heaviest 20 stone+), but now I don’t really feel that way. I’m much more critical of my body and can absolutely see I could definitely stand to lose another 2 stone and I wouldn’t look too thin / hollowed out which is what I would have thought back in November. Whether I could achieve that or not is another thing!

I’ve also reflected on where I am with my fitness / stamina - previously I knew I was out of shape etc but I hadn’t realised quite HOW MUCH out of shape I was (and still am!) - I am able to do a plank now (without the reformer) (it’s not the most elegant thing in the world but it’s improving!). I need to walk more now and start on the weights. All food for thought, especially as I’m not getting any younger and want to optimise what I can to be here and strong for my DS (I do feel extra pressure due to my DH’s health condition and the fact we have hardly any family) (our family ‘village’ is a derelict hamlet!).

Seeing GP later - HRT convo round 2! Also been thinking about the hair loss - I’ve joined a couple of menopause groups on Reddit / FB and so many people talk about their hair loss challenges. Wondering if I’ve been maligning MJ a bit too strongly in this respect! Could be a combo of the too!

Have a lovely weekend all.

Pumpkinforever · 06/06/2025 09:37

@Goldleafcat go for HRT patches! I nagged my dr to get them prescribed. It was like he would personally have to pay for it.

I don’t have HRT anymore as I had a breakout bleed which was investigated but all okay . Dr then offered tablets but I think issues have been flagged between MJ and HRT tablets. I can’t be having periods/breakout bleeds at my age - too much of a faff - so now off HRT all together.

I am skipping around the kitchen again on your behalf as well as losing some calories.

The 5 stone club has a nice ring to it. I hope to join that club around late August.

I took DH years ago when she played Wembley Arena in the early 00’s. We were surrounded by men in feather boas. He did not fit in 😂

Amazing result! 🙌🥂

I think any dramatic weight loss increases hair loss. Focus on the protein and I’ve definitely seen an improvement after more than 90 days on the revive collagen.

HRT - do your research, choose what is best for you - not what the GP says they’ll prescribe. I went for bio identical - oestrogen gel, micronised progesterone and testosterone gel rather than patches. Remember to take hormones in the evening - especially progesterone because it promotes sleep - a lot of women say ‘they don’t get on with it’ but then haven’t been told how to take it for optimal results. The NHS is terrible for actual practical advice about this sort of thing!

Hope the back is better? I’d start with a specific back strengthening programme that includes a lot of thoracic spine mobility?

🥳 to new /old clothes!

I had the same but mine coincided with a lot of personal stress. What I learned was that a hysteroscopy should never be entertained without some form of anaesthesia… brutal is not the word!

FML, the post Kylie nectarines have not done their job yet so no official change this week, despite being a pound down yesterday. I'm taking another look at my TDEE as things have definitely slowed down and I'm still not even at the half way point.

On the hair loss front, I bought this when Cult had an offer recently : https://www.cultbeauty.co.uk/p/solaris-labs-ny-intensive-red-led-hairband-supporting-growth/15686051/? I don't know if it's the hairband, the lowered dose of the anti coagulants or that my weight loss is slowing a bit, but it's massively slowed down the amount of hair I'm losing. It was handfuls every shower and quite alarming.

What amazing stories for a Friday. Well done all badges and rosettes in abundance. DaffodilHaloFlowers

Dipped 200gms below my low this morning. Hoping a good weekend will see a loss for Monday.

Yesterday was a rough one on the side effects only managed half a sandwich at lunch, and that came back later, might have to give up on bread.

Feeling a lot brighter today, have a burrito bowl from chipotle with double meat to work through for lunch and dinner.

I got the 6 month Med Express email when I tried to reorder a 10mg - have uploaded new photo. Fingers crossed that does the trick.
