Welcome to thread 9 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we head towards Easter Egg season, celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and admire our new Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W21 D1 and on my first 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 0.8lbs
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 38.2lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Not 50 since November, it has taken years (with two long breaks) to get to 50, I’m the slow coach here, only 13 since November.

It’s still incredible and you should be very chuffed with yourself 🥰

@Cantbesurei like having a little less suppression over the weekends too, it does make things feel more normal and is a good test for willpower.

I've got over 5 stone to go - I'll be here for a while yet.

I've got over 5 stone to go - I'll be here for a while yet.

I’ll be here for quite some time yet too! But we are getting there, pound by pound 💪

(I’ve just aspirationally ordered a Joe Brown’s denim jumpsuit off Vinted in a size 14. It’ll take me a while to get there but the price was too tempting!)

Mounjaropen · 14/04/2025 09:02

I’m taking it as a win…Sadly gyms/ consistent exercise are going to be entirely necessary. I have accepted this fate 😂 Muscle tissue is metabolic so it makes sense that your weight has gone down if you added in a weekend session (well done, I’ve done nothing for 2 days but they are my rest days 😉)

I think three days a week is definitely the way forward 😁 But it is also a big change that I feel like I have the energy to be wanting to do that - even though I am eating way less calories. The challenge is that permanent change. Part of me would very much like it not to be needed still 🤣 Your two rest days are both very deserved and probably needed.

checking in for accountability ! Slow and steady which I mostly happy with but who wouldn’t want a whoosh eh? Brought size 16 trousers as even though I had size 18 draw string wide leg ones that I thought I could just pull tighter they looked ridiculous but even they are loose but I’m almost scared to buy a 14 as I can’t be right? No one would know of course but I’m not sure I could cope with disappointment if 14 didn’t fit, I know that’s mad but I’m happy with where I am if I didn’t loose another oz but I would be gutted and feel a fool - anyone else in this boat?

Well done! I’d try the 14’s and I reckon they’ll fit. No one will know other than you if they fit or not so give it a go!. I just looked back at my weight to when I was a similar weight to you and I was wearing size 14 jeans.

Go for it! And embrace the fruits of your hard labours 💪🏻 🥰

I’m currently wearing some size 14 wide leg high waist jeans that are becoming more gangster style - I have wide hips so they’re not falling down as such but definitely hanging lower than they should. Far too scared to actually try sized 12s because I fear they’ll be too tight and make me feel fat. The human brain is ridiculous sometimes. Well done on your loss!

I think I have received some compliments this week…..

From a person whose first language is not English. I hadn’t seen him for 6 months, I went to collect him from hospital after surgery .
Him “ Are you ok”?
“yes, I think I should be asking you, if you are ok”
”you are well” ?
”yes, I am good”
“Are you ill? you have lost a lot of weight”
”yes, I have been trying”!

His wife was then walking behind me
” You have lost your bum”!
I wanted to reply ”Well, now that I can reach, it’s much easier to wipe now”

My mother…
”You’ve been losing weight”!
“I have indeed”
”Good! About time”!

Will take the compliments 🤣

Yes, I totally understand - I keep buying clothes that are too big because I can’t believe my size. Unlike lots of people on this thread I’ve wasn’t a slim teen - I was a size 16 until I went to uni and slimmed down to a 12 which I was very comfortable with. So to have to buy smaller sizes is a brand new experience.

Try on the 14 - I bet they’ll fit better than you think they will!

Honestly! People are so rude! Well done, you’ve obviously completely changed your body shape and I bet you look amazing!

The cleaner from our office looked me up and down and said ‘you’ve lost weight! Kilos!!’

I’m surprised people feel so free to speak exactly what they think - no filter at all. I bumped into an old acquaintance from the school run and he commented that I’d lost a lot of weight and then said to my husband ‘enjoy your band new wife!’ What a strange comment! People always surprise me.

Cantbesure · 15/04/2025 08:40

@Goodgriefisitginfizzoclock@TeenLifeMumdef try the smaller size. I did the same with my last jeans. The idea was slightly whimsical as my jeans were getting baggy. But I didn’t believe I could actually be the next size down. Still in disbelief that they fit. The brain is a very powerful and strange beast. I’m wearing a coat today (how is it freezing again?!) that I couldn’t button in November. And now it is roomy. And yet I still feel big.

I made underwear before and after pictures at the weekend and the difference is very clear. But I haven’t processed it yet. It’s easier to see the flaws. The sagging skin. The ‘ozempic face’. But I’m in my 50s so it’s never going to be ‘perfect’.

phyllidafosset · 15/04/2025 09:25

Well! After a plateau, I have just hit my original target!!! Which means I’m also 0.2lbs off my 3 stone. This is a little more than I was last time I lost a good bit of weight post babies, and so I decided to shift my goal to a little below that, and a bit closer to what I was pre-babies. I am hoping that will give me a little bit of a buffer for post MJ. I am also 1 day off 5 months. To have done this at all insane, but it has been so lovely being on this journey with you all 🥰

Well done! Such a huge achievement. I have 17lbs to go before I am pre-DD weight. It's only taken 20 years 😂

Hi all
if anyone is looking for a new supplier Dr Frank’s are worth a look (PM me for a referral link for 50% off) - I just ordered three months of 12.5mg (which I could adjust if needed) for £357! And they will accept people who already use MJ even if your BMI is already under 27.

Woohoo! I have an album on my phone entitled 'Weight Loss" and every now and again I take a snap. I wasn't brave enough to take a photo of me at the start in undies but I did take a cheeky snap of myself in October in an all-in-one lacy bodysuit affair when I was a bit squiffy. I thought I looked fab (DH wasn't complaining at the time either) but now I can see I looked like a beach ball wearing a lacy body suit. Horrific. I definitely had reverse body dysmorphia😂

Quote of the day from a friend of mine yesterday who is on MJ - "I am 10st 3 now and stopping. My clothes fit and I feel better. Any more and I'd look like someone has dug me up" 😂

Tbf, she has taken 2 years to get 2 stone off via Saxenda, Wegovy and now MJ but she is sensitive to it and feels rubbish 3 days of the week. It is the luck of the draw I guess if you are able to tolerate it. For me, MJ has been like HRT - I feel like my system has had a rebalance. Fingers crossed it actually has!

PS yes it is cold.

I have an excellent relationship with my Mother now she is no longer on this earth...It is a shame but we don't all end up being lucky enough to get a Mother you can have a hallmark card-style relationship with. Or one that champions you on in life. My only regret is that neither she nor my toxic sibling did not see me thinner again...but I'm enjoying my drama-free life without them being in it.

I’m in 12s for other clothes but I’ve been enjoying the loose jeans and tight jeans aren’t very inviting. My hips/bum are curvy and even at 9st 4 (a stone less than I am now) I was a 12 on my hips (8 on top).

off for pub lunch with dc and my parents today by the sea. It’ll be raining but I still love trips to Lyme Regis.

Loving hearing about the smaller jeans.
Mine are gigantic at the waist but still too tight in the thigh so I’ll wait for a while before trying any. Do think bigger sizes favour apple shapes over pear, even in curvy fit.
