Welcome to thread 9 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we head towards Easter Egg season, celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and admire our new Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W21 D1 and on my first 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 0.8lbs
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 38.2lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

I've got over 5 stone to go - I'll be here for a while yet.

Me too. I reckon another 3 stone.

Pumpkinforever · 15/04/2025 12:25

Forgot my stats

SW 15 stone 12lbs / 100.7kg
CW 12 stone 8 / 79.8

Loss to date 3 stone 4lbs / 20.9kg

its is creeping down. Considering go up to 7.5mg next pen order

We’ll be here, regardless of how long it takes. As they say in the armed forces ““no man gets left behind“ 😉

Loving hearing about the smaller jeans.
Mine are gigantic at the waist but still too tight in the thigh so I’ll wait for a while before trying any. Do think bigger sizes favour apple shapes over pear, even in curvy fit.

It’s worth looking to see how much alterations are by a local seamstress or at your dry cleaners? It’s about a tenner here to have your jeans altered I’m worth it for the better fit for your shape.

Fantastic loss! Are you aiming for the nines as your final destination? Personally, I haven’t found much of a difference between 5.0 mg and 7.5 mg either in terms of weight loss nor suppression.

Yes if I can get to 9.9 I will be at the top end of my healthy weight range. So I am definitely on MJ for the long haul

Last time I was 9.9 was in 1991. Whilst declutterring I came across some old diaries and occasionally mentioned my weight and what fad diet I was going to attempt at the time. My weight just really piled on after marriage and kids and didn’t stop going up until November 24 and my first jab.

I've got nearly the combined total (50kg) to get rid of still so I'll still be here when they're putting the chairs up on the tables 😬

Been in the office today and had comments from 4 different people on how much slimmer I am looking.

I never think about alterations. I have some levi ribcage that could do with being altered.

I’ll be here for the long haul. I think maintenance is going to be another journey.

I bought some of these when my jeans got too big at the waist but I wasn’t ready to buy more - they are really handy!

I just searched something like ‘waist tightener buttons for jeans’.

I’ve hit my 4 stone now. Started at 21 6, now at 17 5

It’s made such a difference - I can put my socks on, tie my shoes, scratch any part of my back. Taking a bin bag of clothes to the recycling tomorrow. I recently bought Jeans from a supermarket, instead of having to order online.

Still suffering from naseous, and excess stomach acid, which causes me to be sick. I have 2 bad days out of 7.

Also have developed a physiological reaction to the jab - I throw up when I have it, it think about it, so my husband has taken over.

planning on continuing to August, when I’m on holiday. Hoping for another 3 stone. Then I’ll try Calorie Control (as I can’t be doing this sickness for life)

Goodgriefisitginfizzoclock · 15/04/2025 20:16

Not sure how to tag people but - thank you all for taking the time to respond to my post. Genuinely touched that people took the time. If I can I will put some ‘not so big now’ pants on and buy some 14’s and post an update. If I put just a crying face you will know it didn’t go well !😂

Woo! If 3 stone is a rosette, I think 4 stone should be a trophy. 🏆

I love your list of things you can do now. Tying my shoelaces - I used to literally be unable to breathe. Had to try to tie them really quickly before I ran out of breath. Same for cutting toenails. My absolute favourite thing though is that my stress incontinence is a million times better. I had whooping cough last summer and basically peed myself every time I coughed for weeks (it’s a much deeper cough than normal) and I was worried that would be it for life. It did get better gradually but it wasn’t brilliant - until shedding 2.5 stone and now I’m back to normal, thank god.

Arglefraster · 15/04/2025 23:01

Wow @ExtraOnions4 stone is amazing 🤩

so sorry you have such awful side effects though that sounds quite miserable (I assume you've tried a PPI like omeprazole? ) & you deserve extra credit for sticking with it 🎖️

I love the NSVs

i went up to 7.5 for my current pen and I do think it helped a bit. I have had stronger suppression and my average weekly loss has been over 1kg on this pen whereas before it was 0.8kg
no different side effects for me on 7.5 which is good

Time to enjoy my Shotsy 🎉 before I lower my goal. I honestly never thought I’d weigh this. Happy Wednesday to our expensive death jab family 💉💗🥂

4 stone is incredible! Well done. Glad you are finding all the positive differences. Isn’t it amazing to be able to do things like buying clothes in a supermarket (I’m being serious), when I was a size 28 I just had Evan’s and Simply Be and would panic - I remember losing some weight and being able to get things in Sainsbury’s and feeling the sheer relief of the flexibility and ease.

Echo what PPs have said though, I hope you can find a way to continue without the nausea. I’m not surprised you’ve developed a psychological reaction, it sounds tough. Not the same but when I was at primary school the dinner ladies would try to force me to eat their undercooked jacket potatoes (I was a tubby child so there was no need to do this!), the thought of the uncooked chunks of potato would make me gag, until I ended up actually being sick on one of the dinner ladies and they left me alone after that. For years after (until age 16? 17?) with just the thought of eating them I would literally gag and could literally be sick. It’s mad.

You’re doing amazing!

@ExtraOnions4 stone is amazing!!! 🎉🎉🎉 I’m sorry to hear you are suffering with side effects. Glad your husband is being supportive and helping with the jabs. Have you tried to take things to help?

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 16/04/2025 09:09

I made it to the 9s! BMI now 25.5. So excited, I haven’t seen this number on the scales since I was about 26, before I got pregnant. Squee!
