Welcome to thread 9 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we head towards Easter Egg season, celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and admire our new Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W21 D1 and on my first 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 0.8lbs
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 38.2lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

A couple of little NSVs here:

  1. I can now sit on the tube without spilling over into the next seat - it feels great!
  2. I stood and danced for the entire Sugababes concert last night - didn’t need to sit down to rest 🥳

I’m also just a pound or two away from a 3st loss which feels huge. Still a looooong way to go (another 6 or 7 stone) but it feels achievable.

@Mounjaropen you so deserve your 3st medal! If pvolve was an Olympic sport you’d be getting a real medal! Thank you for continuing to inspire us all 🫶.

Ooh now these are some great NSV’s 🥰 - look forward to awarding you the 3st rosette soon! Hope you enjoyed the Sugarbabes!

Thanks @Arglefraster. In a weird quirk of fate I was away for a funeral that night, so missed the stress of the evacuation but didn't know the state of play until I was back home again.
Weirdly one of my lesser reasons for wanting to lose weight was that I had the fear of having to flee a burning building and having no clothes and not being able to buy any replacements easily due to my size. Thankfully it hasn't come to that but it's a timely reminder of how far I've come and why I want and hope to continue losing.

That's a very bittersweet situation! I'm sorry for your loss.

i totally get the replace the clothes thing for me it's having bags lost on flights - friends got stranded for a whole 10 day holiday with nothing but carryon luggage so they just skipped out & bought clothes (this was years ago when there were actual shops!) & I just knew I wouldn't be able to do the same.

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar I think weighing everyday (or week!) to keep yourself accountable is a brilliant idea! Loosing a few pounds is nowhere near as daunting as a few stone!

@Mounjaropen do you feel less exhausted than you did when you started the exercise? Thanks for the ‘say thanks and move on’ advice - I never mention people’s weight and I’m surprised how many people feel free to comment

@Novjaro brilliant NSVs! Well done! I used to love the Sugar Babes - did they have the original line up or was Heidi there?

Totally feel less exhausted for sure and right in the zone! 🥰 Ignore the ignorant, it is rude IMO to randomly comment on someone’s weight if you are not close with them.

That would be quite the rollercoaster? What’s your thinking behind that? I’d be wary of two pens on the go - they are only good for being open for four weeks?

Yay!! Well done to our thread godmother @Mounjaropenon the 3 stone milestone. Completely deserved with your astounding commitment to exercise and your holy grail of pvovle. St Jennifer is smiling down upon you.

So many of us moving into the healthy weight bracket. We definitely deserve our rosettes 🏵️ and I now can’t stop singing weight loss pony club 😂

my weight is up a pound, down a pound. So I’m still stubbornly a pound or 2 away from target and my 2 stone rosette. Once I hit target I will then probably set a new target of another 5 or so pounds which will get me to a BMI of around 23.3. I am veering between feeling slim and prancing around in my new jeans and cropped top to feeling I look exactly the same.

I am concerned about life post-MJ as I’m def under my TDEE, upping exercise and still not losing and the scales are fluctuating. Maybe 2 more pens for loss and then potentially titrating down. I don’t think I’ll be hitting my weight and coming straight off. I am definitely very interested in updates from those on the thread that are in maintenance. It’s all part of our journey I think.

Keep going! And enjoy the lovely jeans and crop top 🥰

So I finally braved bra shopping. I've gone from a 38G to a 34FF...I don't understand bra sizing at all 😆 I feel like my boobs have shrunk loads but apparently not lol.

Goodness there nothing as humbling as standing in just your bra in a changing room. 🙈

Well that means you’ve totally shrunk your frame 👏👏👏

And yes, nothing worse than trying on bras in an unforgiving light with a rear view mirror to boot 😂

Has anyone started maintaining with Oushk? I have just booked a maintenance consultation but first available one is in early July. I have a good stone left to lose so it is probably OK but if I am a bit luckier - what happens? Can you titrate down yourself or keep ordering pens if you get to BMI 25?

Depends who your provider is now? Think MedExpress is happy to prescribe for me right now but I’m not at target.

Well the knickers are like arse dental floss but DH will benefit.. he arrived home with a bottle of Bollinger so he’s allowed I guess 😂

@MounjaropenI'm not sure it's a random thought had a bad 1 at that forgot to say ill ne getting surgery soon my surgeon said he's booked out for next 4 weeks and im on the next group of people after that

LindtCurves · 11/04/2025 23:26

Is anyone else concerned about muscle loss? I was just looking at data today and I have lost 17lb of muscle. About 25lb in fat. For me that's huge muscle loss.

Granted I have been far less active as I used to be in terms of weight training, and can barely bring myself to eat some days. So feel like I need to force myself to eat more, more protein, and maybe work with a personal trainer. It's just hard to maintain muscle with no appetite.

While I like my new look overall after losing 3st, I don't like seeing things sagging, which wasn't an issue for me before.

Does that not mean you’ve lost 7 inches off your bust measurement? I might not be getting my maths right after quite a lot of wine, but I thought each cup size was an inch, so G is 9 inches, plus the band size of 38 = 47 inches? And a 34FF is 42 inches? I really hope I’m not massively offending you if these sound like crazy numbers!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 12/04/2025 00:58

I knew there was something wrong with my maths - 5 inches off, not 7! 47 minus 42 is not 7, doh!

Firstly, congratulations on the 3 stone loss! 👏

Secondly, yep, it was the main reason I bought the Pvolve gear alongside the jabs. It is HARD to maintain the effort and protein intake but I’ve got into a rhythm. My muscle mass is 99.4lbs this morning on a weigh in of 150.2lbs (0.6lbs less than yesterday) which is 66.2% up 3% since March 1st when I got the fancy scales.

According to Men’s Health the optimal levels are as follows:

  • Ages 20-39: 75-89 percent for men, 63-75.5 percent for women
  • Ages 40-59: 73-86 percent for men, 62-73.5 percent for women
  • ages 60-79: 70-84 percent for men, 60-72.5 percent for women

Obviously age is a big factor in sagging because of the collagen levels. Do you know how yours compares? Can you add in weights gradually to your routine? How are your protein macros?

Interesting article today by Dr Michael Mosley’s son who is carrying on his Dad’s work and has written a book called ‘Food Noise’ with his mother (Dr Claire Bailey). Unfortunately serialised in advance in the Daily Mail… but if you are interested in reading it (and it is interesting) you can bypass the paywall by pressing the square icon with lines in the web browser and it should say ‘show reader’

Dr Mosley's new Fast 800 diet to turbo-charge Ozempic

This new generation of weight-loss jabs have been impressive for many reasons. They could be the answer to Britain's obesity problem, but they are not without risk and need to be used safely

I’m only on 50% although my scales seem to think that’s ideal 🙄

I used to have a fairly muscle-defined shape in certain areas, such as my bum, and now it’s kind of flat and sagging a bit, which annoys me. Muscle is just so hard to build so it’s sad that I’ve lost so much.

But I just struggle to eat enough to maintain it for starters.

I used to be an avid weight trainer, I can lift pretty heavy weights (close to max on many of the machines in the gym), just struggling to find the energy to work out atm.

I reckon maybe I’ll just lose some more and then go on a proper bodybuilding programme?! I don’t even know anymore 😂 All I know is I just keep losing more and more with any cardio I do.

Are you already with oushk? They will prescribe until a BMI of 19. I moved over to them when my BMI was about 26. If you are moving to them you just need to show evidence of your medication history. For me it was a screenshot of my last MJ prescription.

you will be able to order a lower doseage pen and there are comment boxes on the consultation form if you want to explain why you are going to a lower dose. I have my maintenance appointment in 2 weeks.

Oh this is interesting thanks. I’ve gone back to the beginning of my MJ journey and now and my muscle mass has increased from 59.8% to 66.7%. This is reassuring as it can be a worry to be the muscle weight drop on the scales, but obviously that’s alongside losing weight overall.

Amazing news that your surgery is getting closer.

im not sure I’d mess around with dosing to that extent. Are you having problems on the 15mg? You could reduce it by counting clicks if you are struggling it I wouldn’t recommend going up and down at such extremes.

MsRumpole · 12/04/2025 08:55

Feeling a bit glum. I think I am premenstrual (am also peri so it's hard to predict) and I have gained about 10lb since last week. That's quite common for me, and if I am premenstrual that will all come off with a bit extra when my period starts, but right now it is just very depressing!

random223 · 12/04/2025 09:02

Thanks @Cantbesure - yes sorry to be unclear - I am already with Oushk. That is really helpful. I was just a bit worried that I wouldn't be allowed to reduce my dose/keep ordering if I got to a healthy weight before July. I will never have a BMI of 19 though so I think I am safe! Be interested to hear how you get on with your maintenance plans.
