Welcome to thread 9 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we head towards Easter Egg season, celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and admire our new Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W21 D1 and on my first 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 0.8lbs
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 38.2lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Honestly? I feel bloody exhausted from the effort! But also quite proud of myself. I’ve had yet another Cleaning Lady in their late 20s tell me that they are on MJ. Absolutely do not need it and unsurprisingly not feeling very well either. I think it is going to be frustrating for those of us who have found it’s still a monumental effort to lose weight whilst on MJ being thrown in with with ‘ I’m on the the magic potion’ whilst having just had a McDonald’s breakfast’ gang…

That is frustrating but I’d say that I honestly spent my 20s thinking I was fat. I look at photos now and I remember how down I was about my body but realise now how stupid/blind I was.

No one is commenting on my weight loss but I think they all assume it’s stress loss and mj hasn’t occurred to them.

Penguinmouse · 11/04/2025 10:21

I’m exactly the same @TeenLifeMum - feel like a dimwit for spending my teenage years and early 20s thinking I was fat. Oh to return to that body now!

PinkArt · 11/04/2025 10:41

Weighing in for the week and another week of no change. It keeps dropping to 16st 7 at the start of the week and then going back up to 16st 8 by weigh in day.

W23D7
SW: 19st 9lbs
CW:16st 8lbs
1st GW: 17st 13lbs
2nd GW 15st 4lbs
TL: 3st 1lb

I hit 16st 9 on March 14th and have been loitering around there since. Pollyanna-ing I don't mind sticking here anywhere near as much as I minded sticking at 3 stone heavier. Plus there was a fire in my building at the weekend (everyone is fine but for a day I did wonder if I still had a home) so I'm feeling pretty don't sweat the small stuff. I'm well below my TDEE so I'm just going to carry on carrying on and trust biology to start nudging it down again when it's ready.

🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

FINALLY I can report to the friends in my phone….after 23 weeks I have lost 3 stone and earned my 3 stone badge!

Weigh in this morning is 10st 10.8lbs. 2 lbs lighter than last Friday but only 0.4lbs lighter than Monday (but that weigh did follow a bout of midnight vomiting and diarrhoea following wine and red meat feast on Sunday 🙈). Step count since Saturday is 53,563 so I should hit at least 63,000 for the week by the end of today. I’ll have completed 5 Pvolve classes, weighted incline treadmill walks and played tennis twice in order to lose that 0.4lbs 😬. I’m thinking that Maintenance post MJ does look like it is gonna take quite some effort….

On the upside my scales data markers are all green ✅…..but subcutaneous fat is still amber (27%) and I am still metabolically one year older than my actual age 😩

Woohoo 3 stone! Amazing! And also a spectacular step count! 🎉

Goldleafcat · 11/04/2025 11:16

Happy Friday!

No losses for me this week, in fact, a pound on (13 stone 9). But I’ve been struggling to be active with my back (which is slowly continuing to improve) and I’m braving reformer again on Sunday. Was in the office yesterday which was nice and sociable (managed to lug my laptop etc without setting my back backwards) (back backwards?! If that makes any sense!) and did a decent amount of steps. Hopefully that offsets the creme egg a colleague bought me (how could I say no…).

Hoping I’ll get 2lbs (or more!) off next week to get me to my 3 stone too.

@SerenePeer I’m feeling like I look the same too. Hoping that another stone (to get me almost where I was on my 40th and lightest I was in years) will have me feeling different.

Arglefraster · 11/04/2025 11:31

I'm totally here for the expensive death jag rosettes! Everyone can take one for their fridge 🏵️🏵️🏵️🏵️🏵️🏵️🏵️🏵️🏵️🏵️🏵️🏵️

Congratulations @MounjaropenI bet that 3 stone looks like more because of all the toning you've been doing too.
I've now hit 21kg down so I think that gets me a 3stone badge too - but my bmi is in the 40s still so a long way to go!

Gosh @PinkArtI'm so glad everyone is ok & your house is ok too but how scary💐

DarkForces · 11/04/2025 11:34

Still alive despite the death jabs. I'm somewhere between 11.2 and 11.5 stone depending where my scales are placed!

Yup. Me too. How i would love to be as "fat" as I was in my 20s!

Novjaro · 11/04/2025 12:06

A couple of little NSVs here:

  1. I can now sit on the tube without spilling over into the next seat - it feels great!
  2. I stood and danced for the entire Sugababes concert last night - didn’t need to sit down to rest 🥳

I’m also just a pound or two away from a 3st loss which feels huge. Still a looooong way to go (another 6 or 7 stone) but it feels achievable.

@Mounjaropen you so deserve your 3st medal! If pvolve was an Olympic sport you’d be getting a real medal! Thank you for continuing to inspire us all 🫶.

StarShapedWindow · 11/04/2025 13:18

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar I think weighing everyday (or week!) to keep yourself accountable is a brilliant idea! Loosing a few pounds is nowhere near as daunting as a few stone!

@Mounjaropen do you feel less exhausted than you did when you started the exercise? Thanks for the ‘say thanks and move on’ advice - I never mention people’s weight and I’m surprised how many people feel free to comment

@Novjaro brilliant NSVs! Well done! I used to love the Sugar Babes - did they have the original line up or was Heidi there?

Cantbesure · 11/04/2025 13:21

Yay!! Well done to our thread godmother @Mounjaropenon the 3 stone milestone. Completely deserved with your astounding commitment to exercise and your holy grail of pvovle. St Jennifer is smiling down upon you.

So many of us moving into the healthy weight bracket. We definitely deserve our rosettes 🏵️ and I now can’t stop singing weight loss pony club 😂

my weight is up a pound, down a pound. So I’m still stubbornly a pound or 2 away from target and my 2 stone rosette. Once I hit target I will then probably set a new target of another 5 or so pounds which will get me to a BMI of around 23.3. I am veering between feeling slim and prancing around in my new jeans and cropped top to feeling I look exactly the same.

I am concerned about life post-MJ as I’m def under my TDEE, upping exercise and still not losing and the scales are fluctuating. Maybe 2 more pens for loss and then potentially titrating down. I don’t think I’ll be hitting my weight and coming straight off. I am definitely very interested in updates from those on the thread that are in maintenance. It’s all part of our journey I think.

Novjaro · 11/04/2025 14:03

Thank you @StarShapedWindow !

Yes original ‘babes - Mutya, Keisha and Siobhan. It was a brilliant night. You should search on YouTube, there are quite a few live shows from things like Glasto. Good exercise dancing along to them too!

SerenePeer · 11/04/2025 15:33

So I finally braved bra shopping. I've gone from a 38G to a 34FF...I don't understand bra sizing at all 😆 I feel like my boobs have shrunk loads but apparently not lol.

Goodness there nothing as humbling as standing in just your bra in a changing room. 🙈

random223 · 11/04/2025 16:50

Has anyone started maintaining with Oushk? I have just booked a maintenance consultation but first available one is in early July. I have a good stone left to lose so it is probably OK but if I am a bit luckier - what happens? Can you titrate down yourself or keep ordering pens if you get to BMI 25?

PinkArt · 11/04/2025 19:16

Thanks @Arglefraster. In a weird quirk of fate I was away for a funeral that night, so missed the stress of the evacuation but didn't know the state of play until I was back home again.
Weirdly one of my lesser reasons for wanting to lose weight was that I had the fear of having to flee a burning building and having no clothes and not being able to buy any replacements easily due to my size. Thankfully it hasn't come to that but it's a timely reminder of how far I've come and why I want and hope to continue losing.

I totally get that - I was exactly the same! it’s more that in your 20’s you absolutely have the ability to lose weight and snap back into shape and it’s a shame they don’t appreciate that. The long term effects are unknown but I’m in my 50’s and understand the risks - it seems really risky to be taking WLI from unlicensed sources in the quest to lose 7lbs or so.

So sorry to hear about the fire - what a shock! Glad you are ok and agree it does make you evaluate. You’ve done so well and that it such a great attitude to take. Have you tried changing up your eating pattern to keep your body second guessing? It might kick start things a bit?

3 stone rosette for you my friend!

I do feel fab to be honest ( I feel i can say that here without sounding conceited). I wore some old white jeans for lunch - they were once skinny but there was no cling anywhere - DH said ‘Look at you with your baggy jeans!’. My lovely friends over for lunch were really complimentary. No ‘don’t go too far’ nonsense.
