Welcome to thread 9 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we head towards Easter Egg season, celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and admire our new Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W21 D1 and on my first 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 0.8lbs
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 38.2lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Wow, @Mounjaropen, amazing work! So pleased for you!

SerenePeer · 11/04/2025 07:49

Happy Friday skinny bitches in my phone.

Have to say, unlike most of you I don't actually feel any thinner...it's weird. When I look in the mirror I'm always "wow! Go me! Looking super slim!". But if I look down at myself, I still see my belly and it weirdly feels no different.

But that was one if the reasons I actually got so fat I think. I didn't "feel" different as the weight piled on and always found an excuse for my clothes not fitting (i convinced myself I shrunk a lot of things in the wash 🙈😂).

Taking a day off work today but the sunshine seems to have buggered off. Typical. Had planned a day of meeting friends for quick dip in the sea (now it's too windy), lunch with my boys (they've decided to play golf instead) and sort the garden out (meh. Don't know if I can be arsed 😂). Think I'm just knackered and need a duvet day!

🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

FINALLY I can report to the friends in my phone….after 23 weeks I have lost 3 stone and earned my 3 stone badge!

Weigh in this morning is 10st 10.8lbs. 2 lbs lighter than last Friday but only 0.4lbs lighter than Monday (but that weigh did follow a bout of midnight vomiting and diarrhoea following wine and red meat feast on Sunday 🙈). Step count since Saturday is 53,563 so I should hit at least 63,000 for the week by the end of today. I’ll have completed 5 Pvolve classes, weighted incline treadmill walks and played tennis twice in order to lose that 0.4lbs 😬. I’m thinking that Maintenance post MJ does look like it is gonna take quite some effort….

On the upside my scales data markers are all green ✅…..but subcutaneous fat is still amber (27%) and I am still metabolically one year older than my actual age 😩

That is an immense amount of effort - you totally deserve that weight loss and I bet you’re getting super toned with all those different exercises. I’m super impressed!

StarShapedWindow · 11/04/2025 08:31

Start weight 11.7 stone
Current Weight 9.4 stone
Height 5’3

I’ve reached a healthy BMI and everyone who hasn’t seen me for a while comments on how much weight I’ve lost which I find quite embarrassing because I don’t quite know what to say, so I just say ‘thank you’ - which feels a little big headed. Anyone got any better responses or is a simple thank you best?

Im trying to write down what I eat so I can make sure I don’t overeat once I’m off MJ. I’m on 7.5 and have another in the fridge but I realise I can’t stay on it forever and I think I’ll find maintaining quite hard. I think hunger is just going to have to be a feeling I live with otherwise I guess I’ll be bouncing in and off MJ forever. Is anyone in maintenance yet? If so how’s it going?

Woo hoo!! What an brilliant milestone to reach @Mounjaropen 🥳🥳🥳

Phenomenal effort! How will you celebrate? New sexy undies? A fabulous dress?

SerenePeer · 11/04/2025 08:41

I've just worked out i have 4lbs to lose until I get my 3 stone rosette (corsage? I think we're worth it). And 4 lbs until the scales say 11 stone something! Oooooh that's given me a wee boost and an incentive to get those steps in and wear my weighted vest more!

phyllidafosset · 11/04/2025 08:42

@Mounjaropen that is fantastic!!! Huge congratulations! For the metabolic age, that is on the way down too. Honestly I am not sure how much I trust that. Mine flatters my vanity but I am SURE you are much fitter than me and that fitness and stamina are the real achievement 💪. I have such a huge admiration for your exercise and your positive spirit (which you have shared so generously with all of us).

Della82 · 11/04/2025 09:03

Well done @Mounjaropen fantastic results glad you got your 3 stone 💪👏🎉

you are inspirational (thinspirational?!) with all your workouts and activities and have definitely motivated me to be more active and think about toning exercises I can do at home so thank you 👏

Congratulations, @StarShapedWindow! Healthy weight - awesome! I’m not there yet but I’m trying to pay attention to how many times a day I eat. Right now it’s mostly twice a day. My maintenance plan (when I get there!) will be two healthy meals a day, lots of fruit and veg, daily weighing even after nights out, and plenty of exercise. Failing at the last one right now! Does hoovering count?

Amazing @Mounjaropen - how are you feeling?

I’ve tipped back up to 10st 6 but am determined that I’m going to make better choices. I’m on my knees exhausted but off work next week. I really need that.

@SerenePeerwhen I wake up at 5am I think it’s the middle of the night and roll back over. I don’t get up and go to the gym so huge kudos.

reading about shortages of 12.5mg and 15mg. Has anyone been affected? I was interested in Oushk’s suggestion of taking a slower dose but very 5 days. I’m wondering if this might be a better idea than moving up to 10. My suppression is very high at the start of the week but def tails off. And that’s as I hit the weekend. Getting my steps in with dog walks this week.

I’m only on 7.5 mg and I’ve had no issues with my reorder. Maybe pop over onto one of the other threads to see if there are any particular pharmacies suffering from a shortage? It would marry up with lots of people starting in January and titrating up each month though, wouldn’t it? I’m sure it’ll be resolved.

Has anyone had tight leg muscles on mounjaro? I’ve not been walking as much as I usually do this week and yet my calves feel like I’ve been in the gym. Tight and sore. It’s probably not jab related but worth asking the Q!

Not anything I’ve experienced, but I have had sore abdominal muscles from exercise this past week. I think it’s probably Personal and individual to each user. Tight calves I normally relieve by doing heel raises off the bottom step of the stairs. Maybe try that?

Wow, an average of 3k more steps a day is fantastic. I’m sure you must be swapping fat for pounds, and speeding up your metabolism. All super useful for Long term health/maintenance and shape.

Edited

Thanks @phyllidafosset - I’ve just turned 36 so would definitely be on the early side of perimenopause but worth keeping an eye on. I’m hoping it’s more because I’ve not been as active this week as no commute but going to get a walk in tomorrow and do some stretching. I’ve just pulled the massage gun on my legs, hoping that helps 😂

Oh to be 36 again! Enjoy your collagen, abundant skin and youthful glow! Not jealous at all 🤣

Yep, I’m convinced I had some sort of reverse body dysmorphia whereby I was way bigger than I was allowing myself to believe. It’s a glorious day here, apparently going to get to 21° where I am, unfortunately I couldn’t be arsed to jet wash the patio furniture yesterday so I’m a bit annoyed at myself as it would be nice to sit outside with all of my pals! I might just get a broom and hope for the best 🤣

I hope you have a lovely day off anyway!

Firstly, congratulations on getting to maintenance levels and a fantastic loss! 🙌

Iusually just say “”yes I have “ or thank you. Unless it is someone that I know well, I don’t volunteer how I have lost weight and these responses tend to shut down any further questions.

TBF, there are an awful lot of unworn sexy undies in my drawer (DH used to like to give himself a present on Valentine’s Day 🤣) these include some Gucci numbers so I might dig those out later if I’ve had enough champagne 🤣 I am going to have to bite the bullet with the bra situation though…!

Honestly? I feel bloody exhausted from the effort! But also quite proud of myself. I’ve had yet another Cleaning Lady in their late 20s tell me that they are on MJ. Absolutely do not need it and unsurprisingly not feeling very well either. I think it is going to be frustrating for those of us who have found it’s still a monumental effort to lose weight whilst on MJ being thrown in with with ‘ I’m on the the magic potion’ whilst having just had a McDonald’s breakfast’ gang…
