Welcome to thread 9 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we head towards Easter Egg season, celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and admire our new Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W21 D1 and on my first 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 0.8lbs
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 38.2lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Hello
Im embracing my dreadful arms and unleashing them on the world, in the hope that they’ll tan a little and not look quite so bad.

Im finally properly out of my stall, been losing a little more consistently the last week without swinging back up after each loss, until this morning where there was almost a kilo off overnight.
Went back to jabbing in the stomach last week as arm hadn’t made any difference other than injection site pain which was unwelcome.
Still dealing with fatigue and burps so sticking to 7.5 a while longer.

Cantbesure · 09/04/2025 14:07

@SerenePeeryou went to the gym at 5am? St Jennifer would approve I’m sure.

KentishMama · 09/04/2025 19:37

Even the thought of getting up at 5 am makes me shudder. But I think I've reached the point where I do need to start exercising. I've done absolutely nothing so far - well, I increased my general activity levels a bit, but now that I'm lighter I am also noticing that even a fast walk doesn't increase my heart rate very far.

However, we're going to my mum's for a week from Sunday, so that gives me a reason to procrastinate for a bit longer... 😂

evilharpy · 09/04/2025 20:08

Hi lovelies. I haven't kept up to date with this post for ages as work has been super stressful and I'm working every hour under the sun and chronically exhausted. Exercise is not happening other than a Friday evening spin class and I really hate this, I think I need to come out the other side of this horrible stressful period to give it the brain space but I know this isn't good and I'd feel better if I made time.

I can't even remember if I posted to say I'm now only overweight, no longer obese, and today my weight started with a 12 again for the first time in over 2 years! I'm 4lbs off a 4 stone loss and can't wait to hit that milestone. I'm also in a position where I like all my clothes again and no longer have anything that I own purely because it fits - that was a horrible place to be and I am never going back there.

Morning everyone,

Weekly weigh in on 3.6mg dose..
jab number 20
SW 18st 4
CW 15 stone 11 lbs
1 lb loss this week
total loss so far 2 stone 7 lbs
I have lost 14% of my starting weight
SBMI 43
CBMI 37
Achievements this week ….
steps in the week = 59016

I am enjoying my LED mask for face and scalp .

There is a thread on here about polynucleotide injections. After reading everyone’s replies I have decided this is not for me. I have many fine lines appearing on my face which I am not liking, so after some research, I have purchased Tretinoin cream. This is a cream for acne but there is evidence to suggest it very much helps with fine lines. I am taking it slowly, this week I applied it on Tuesday night, next application is 3 days later, on Friday.

Well done to everyone on the great losses, we can do this 💪

Mounjaropen · 10/04/2025 07:15

Another week… and no further loss. Still resolutely stuck at 151.2lbs. Starting to regret ordering another 7.5mg pen 😭

That said, I do feel thinner. I’ve lifted a lot of heavy weights this week as part of the specific GLP-1 programme on Pvolve so hopefully I’m laying down more muscle 🤞I bought this 10kg weighted vest from Argos yesterday for my incline walks on the treadmill. Let’s see if it helps, but it’s just over half of what I’ve lost and I struggled to lift it off the sofa after I set it up so no wonder by body has been struggling 🙈

I thought this was an interesting post by Zoe Ball on Instagram- then reported as ‘news’ by the DM but I’ll link it here anyway. I don’t think it is lymphatic drainage that has caused the reduction, it does seem like some UHF treatment is also in play. Having done a lot of research on UHF and similar treatments it seems it is really important that the practitioner (ideally medically trained) knows what they are doing because you can cause serious damage if you do not. Anyway, she does look amazing post treatment and suffering from the menopause belly a lot of us still have.

Zoe Ball reveals shocking body transformation after treatment

The procedure, which Zoe undertook to help with her menopause weight gain, is loved by A-listers including Kim Kardashian , Hailey Bieber , Selena Gomez and Jennifer Aniston.

Well done on the loss and step count! 💪

Tret is the best thing for fine lines so if your skin can tolerate it, you’ll see the difference. Be religious with a 50spf tho. I’m still thinking about polynucleotides but it’s more about refreshment for me than lines (the only good thing I received from my narcissistic mother was decent skin). I watched one of the ‘selling sunset’ women have a ‘whole body’ Botox on instagram this week - including Botox in the feet to ‘enable wearing of heels for longer’ absolute madness right there. Unsurprisingly the practitioner was not a doctor….

Lovely to hear from you! Congratulations on the fab milestones and NSVs! 💪💪

I hear you on the work front. I was definitely in a similar position in my younger career-climbing years but without the support of MJ to stop me eating convenience food all of the time. It is really hard especially as you have to juggle family life on top of that stress. The good thing is you know you need to incorporate exercise into your routine and in time, that will come. Do try and make time for yourself to unwind and to take care of yourself - could you book a facial massage or similar for yourself this weekend? Or add in another spin class? You’ll likely be a more effective colleague/parent/partner if you have time for yourself. It is a lot of pressure trying to be all things to all people 💐

lol. As an intelligent woman you know you need to move more, just find an activity you enjoy. Doesn’t have to be fancy. For me it’s tennis. I’m hugely competitive but it isn’t that for me with tennis - it’s concentration, the ability to completely switch off and the thrill of outwitting my coach with my racquet skills (in my head anyway 🤣). Whacking balls also gets rid of all of my angst 😉

Maybe try adding ankle/wrist/vest weights into your walk to elevate your HR?

When I worked in London I used to go to barre classes at silly o’clock (brutal - both the start time and the class itself) but it does get exercise out of the way for the day.

A kilo overnight!? The stuff of dreams 🥳 👏👏👏

Sorry to hear about the fatigue and burps - that must be debilitating. Could you try working out through the fatigue? Sounds counterintuitive but the endorphins might increase your energy? Hope the site pain isn’t too bad this week for you.

Some fantastic updates! Well done on the losses, and NSVs! Ted Baker dresses 🥰

My back is still grumbling but quite a bit better than yesterday (it was almost comical, I couldn’t sit down, couldn’t stand up, had to keep changing position etc) (could barely sit at my desk for ages). I’ve invested in the quality neurofen which is helping (don’t think I’ll buy the cheap stuff again, whatever they say about it being the same!).

In response to distribution of weight chat,
I think I have a bigger tummy than I normally would at this weight… my arse has shrunk exponentially too. It was never a particularly fantastic peachy or nicely shaped bum so it’s not the end of the world by any means, but if my stomach was to shrink it would look a lot more in proportion. Don’t think I can blame MJ, I think it’s more middle age / peri weight distribution (when the last lot of weight piled on, it focused on my middle). But who knows.

The loose skin on my upper arms is already a disaster zone from when I was much heavier. If I am going to have any surgery, I think it would be here.

Keep going, it is hard when you have constant and unresolved pain. Especially back pain. Hope it eases for the weekend.

My friend had bariatric surgery and then had two separate operations to remove excess skin from her body (she lost 10 stone) including arms. The scars are significant though until they fade.

I have been trying to work on my strength and fitness which I think is improving, but I do need more tome on my belly, inner thigh and upper arms

have bought some dumbells so I can work on my arms at home, I have some tiny 1.5kg ones already but have gone for 7kg this time here’s hoping I use them!

Happy Thursday y’all!

You need to employ your previous technique of cocktails and a good feed for a whoosh i think! ;-)

I had to reduce the weight of my weighted vest and build up slowly - I think it would have broken me to start at 10kg!

I couldn’t be arsed to fiddle about taking out the packets of sand so I am wearing it currently on my dog walk. I can’t believe I was carting around nearly twice as much as this my shoulders are killing me. Good job Ddog has slowed down because he is 75 kg and I won’t be running after him if he decides something else takes his fancy 😂

I have a lunch with old school friends tomorrow and two of us are on MJ. The plan is for not to become boozy, but the last time this happened and it was a sunny day we sank more than two bottles of rose each following champagne starters and Bailey seemed like a good idea after all of that. 😂

Oh well done! I have a feeling that for me getting down to the lower tens and seeing the nine on the scales is gonna be a very long slog indeed! Still we keep going 💪

Good luck with the 7 kg dumbbells! That’s a hike from 1.5 kg. A top tip from the Pvolve trainers is to really grip the weights when you are handling them as grip strength is associated with longevity and ease of movement in later life. Gripping also engages more of the muscle groups in the arms.

Wow your dog must be huge 🤣🤣

love the sound of your very boozy lunch! Hope this one is less boozy but equally as fun 🤩

good luck with the methreesixty

i definitely feel the last bit will be the hardest, but look how far we have all come!
I’m 5’9 so I won’t be going into the 9s!

I have a spa day coming up so popping out for a new swimming costume at lunch, think I’ll go for a tankini as the abs are not where they need to be just yet 😂

Thanks for the dumbbell tips! I do use them at the gym but thought I could get a few reps and sets in at home and use them when I do my squats when I’m waiting for the kettle to boil etc…. Flabby arms be gone!

if you are large of nork like me, underwear and swimwear can become quite spenny. I’d definitely have a look at Brand Alley as I often have fitted brands like Freya at reduced levels. I got a couple of great tankinis on there last year.

indeed, my dog is enormous 😂
