Welcome to thread 9 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we head towards Easter Egg season, celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and admire our new Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W21 D1 and on my first 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 0.8lbs
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 38.2lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

I just looked through my Fitbit weight history after reading this @tooextraimmaturecheddar and gosh it sobering. Mine goes back to 2015 and my lowest weight then was 185lbs in the september of 2015...weight started to creep on that winter and i was up to over 200lbs by the December. I then yo-yo for the next 2 years and got back down to 182lbs in the July of 2018 for going to the US on holiday and I felt amazing. I felt really fit, was running lots and going to spin classes - total cardio junkie. And then it all piled back on again! I'm now sitting at 171lbs so goodness knows when I was last this weight 🤯 Not in the last decade at least!

Well done! 👏💪💪

Hold up, you were hit on TWICE in M&S?! Tell us more!

Yep. I mean obviously they were punching 😂and it probably has something to do with the combination of knee high boots and tight leather trousers…which it appears was catnip to any middle aged man provably called Brian who fancied his luck and trying new dating app chat up lines over the 3 for £8 deli items 😂 Still I’ll take it as ‘I’ve still got it’ 🤣

Spoiler alert - do not waste either your calories or money on the £5 pinchos. They are waay too salty.

Made it to the gym again this morning 🥳 Was just shy of 5k on the treadmill and it felt wonderful! Running is so much easier with 18kg less of me! Shocker. 😆

I wore a cropped tshirt and leggings that have never truly fitted me, so I was feeling pretty chuffed i could wear them and not look like a giant flump.

I need to catch up on work today, so it's an afternoon at the laptop for me.ight drag ds1 to the beach later though since he's home from uni. Get some vitamin D into him!

Well done on the 5k and lovely gym gear!

Hope DS has enjoyed his birthday!

I haven’t had flumps for aaaaages 😂

Must be a thing only I’ve encountered then because it was a different county yesterday that I was in. Used to happen a lot when I was in my twenties 😂

Ha ha, go @Mounjaropen! We will live vicariously through you and your snazzy leather trousers.

I’ve had less than wonderful news as my Dad (who’s been poorly for years) has taken a significant turn for the worse. Think there will be a tough few weeks ahead.

Week 23 Day 1 for me today and my Weigh in this morning…10st 11.2lbs.. so still 0.2lbs off my 3 stone badge but I’ll take that after a couple of boozy days and relaxed eating.. which came back to haunt me just after midnight last night…😩

In other news, I can report that Dubai chocolate is not worth a tenner a bar. Nice enough, but no match for a good old Ferrero Rocher. Don’t believe the hype 😉

I’ll be taking my second 7.5mg jab this day, not sure whether to stick at 7.5mg or to go back down to 5.0mg. One more jab left in the pen after this one.

Happy Monday everyone!

Happy Monday everyone

The sun is still shining here and it makes me so happy.

Made it to the gym AGAIN this morning - hopefully I'm finally over the lethargy and can't-be-arsed-itis I've been suffering from since January. I swear the clock change has made the difference. I wonder if it was lack of daylight? Must mean I need to spend next Feb somewhere warm with lots of daylight!

If anyone wants a reminder of how much weight they've lost actually weighs, and what it feels like to carry, pop down to Pets At Home and select the relevant number of 12kg bags of dog food. 😳 Jesus. I can't believe i used to carry 1 and a half of those bags around with me 24 hours a day. No wonder my feet and legs would ache!

Della82 · 07/04/2025 09:12

@SerenePeer it is so scary when I pick up the amount if weight I lost, no wonder I was tired and had knee and back issues. If I had to carry 18kgs around all day now I would be knackered. I’m so glad I started this journey!

@Mounjaropen wishing that 0.2lbs away for you! But well done for surviving a weekend of naughtiness 💪 Hope that your DH’s ex encounter was ok, I bumped into my ex the other day and it definitely felt better seeing him minus 18kgs 😂😂

itsnotagameshow · 07/04/2025 10:48

Lovely reading all the scale and NS victories! Well done all.

Quick question, I'm on 7.5 (in my 4th week) and I am SUFFERING. Sulphur burps, bloating, gut pain and tiredness, plus on and off diarrhoea. I am really considering going back down to 5 for my next pen. I've got a business trip coming up and I was going to jab as usual before I go (leaving on jab day and coming back a week later) but I don't dare risk it in case I'm unwell.

A long winded way of asking if anyone else has come back down to a previous dose after one pen of the higher due to side effects and how they found it? I could count clicks and go lower (6.25 maybe) but I am dithering.

I am also dithering as I live abroad and 5 is 80 euros cheaper per pen! I've still got a lot to lose, and I don't want to go down to 5 and find I have lost suppression but these effects are not fun.

itsnotagameshow · 07/04/2025 10:59

Just done the maths (not my forte!) but I realise that if I order another 7.5 pen, it will be cheaper if I dose with 5 using it (doh!) and I will also have the extra medication on hand if 5 (or 6.25 etc) doesn't cut it.

I think in your circumstance, I would go back down to 5 mg. You’ve given 7.5 a really good go but it’s not worth feeling like you are. Personally, I have noticed minimal difference in appetite suppression between 5.0 and 7.5 – if anything, I feel hungrier on 7.5. €80 is a huge sum of money to save also.

How funny, because I work in imperial measure rather than metric I wasn’t really sure how much 18 kg was, and I’ve just lifted a set of 15 LBS weights which is the equivalent of 6.8 kg and man are they heavy! I can’t believe I was carting around that extra weight for decades…

The ex definitely noticed and chose not to come and say hello 😂

Well done you! I’ve just had a lovely leisurely walk with my massive hound, I’ve completed my 53 minute incline walk and a 25 minute heavyweight Pvolve class. About to prep poached salmon for lunch (I’m having that with a rocket and tomato salad) and prep a tropical fruit salad to have in the fridge so I’m not tempted by more than one square of the Dubai chocolate 😉

On the collagen front, the friends we were staying with at the weekend had a tub of the ancient and brave collagen powder on the side (it’s bovine based) and she absolutely swears that it has made an enormous difference to her hair and nails so much so that when she stopped taking it, she really noticed the difference. I’m not sure that’s the case with me but I’ll keep going nevertheless with my Marine-based one as it does give me an extra 10 g of protein easily each day.

I also had my first ‘you’re not going to lose too much are you?’ comment. And yes, they are fitness fanatics 🙄

I did. First time I went up to 7.5mg I really suffered too. So I went back down to 5mg for a month (took a few weeks for my levels to fall to a happier level). Then in the 2nd month I climbed very slowly up to 7.5mg. So I did 5.5, 6, 6.5, 7 and then 7.5mg. Now I tolerate 7.5mg with no issues as long as I don't eat too much red meat for the first 72 hours post jab.

Thanks, that's really helpful. I think I will definitely go back down. The suppression I am currently getting is too much as well.

It's all about balance......

  • had not one but TWO 'you're not going to lose any more are you' comments at ballet last night (in a leotard too, so absolutely no-where to hide) 💪
  • have two DS's back from uni, last time they saw me I was 3 stone heavier, have they noticed? Of course not... 😂

Oh those ‘don’t lose any more weight’ comments really annoy me too! Not had those for a bit (some way to go before they kick in I think!). Sometimes I think people think they are being nice but really it’s bloody cheeky (especially when it’s from people who are loads thinner), and in some cases it’s from people who want you stay in your ‘chubby’ box. At the end of the day, it’s really none of their business and not appropriate to be making unprompted remarks about someone else’s weight.

We should keep a nice record of them though, a bit like a bingo card! The wilder the better! And share our witty come backs so we are prepared!

Just done the bonus dose from my 10mg pen, just over 0.7ml so about 11.7mg… perhaps a bridging dose before I start 12.5 next week! Eek!

I think it's a mum thing. My lovely MIL lost a lot of weight (she's absolutely tiny so the 3stone literally halved her) & FIL told DH off for not commenting - DH hadn't noticed & couldnt "see" it even when told because he just sees his mum!
( I could see it instantly but didn't comment because I think it's incredibly rude to do so!)
