Welcome to thread 9 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we head towards Easter Egg season, celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and admire our new Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W21 D1 and on my first 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 0.8lbs
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 38.2lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Another vote for the Elemis pro-collagen cleansing balm. Smells amazing and leaves my skin feeling like new!

I love Elemis pro collagen products too. The moisturiser is my absolute favourite. I asked for some for Christmas but my husband bought me vast quantities of gin instead 😒

I have the oil but use it few and far between because it probably isn’t the best for my acne prone skin but can’t resist it every once in a while! I’m cautious with my cleansing balm too for similar reasons. But when I use them, I feel like I’ve had a little spa treat 🥰

I’ve just looked back over my weight tracking info on the Fitbit and My Fitness Pal apps. Between the two of them it goes back to 2012 after DD was born. It’s quite depressing, because what I can see is that my weight has never been stable in the last 10 years. I can see a pattern of diet, lose a stone, put it back on in a few months, diet again. I was between 11.7 and 10 stone to start with, so always in the overweight range, and then from 2020 during lockdown I shot up into the obese range and fluctuated between 13 stone at my worst and maybe 11 stone at best. It’s making me dubious about my ability to maintain. I can also see that the minute I stop dieting I stop weighing and then the next weight recorded months later is back to the beginning. Aaargh.

I’m the same with weighing - as soon as I take my eye off the ball all hell breaks loose. I fall into blissful ignorance until I suddenly find nothing fits me and I’ve piled on stones! I need to stick to regular (at least twice a week) weigh ins I think.

As an adult my weight has fluctuated between 10 and 20 stone, ping ponging up and down multiple times. I do worry about my ability to maintain too.

I’m hoping and determined that the changes I’m making now stick for good. I’ve still got more to do but I am making progress.

I think we can all do it, but have to recognise it won’t be easy. But we have the thrill of smaller waists, more energy, better wardrobes and increased confidence to empower us!

urgh, tried to order the next pen and they want photos again. I’ll do it but the faff annoys me. I hate faff. I also have an element of design experience through my job and know I could easily lie and photo shop any photo. I think one more pen will get me where I want to be then I need to maintain without the monthly cost.

10st 4 today 🎉

Woohoo! Look at you skinny Minnie!

QVC have a deal for the pro-collagen balm, moisturiser, toner face mask etc plus some shower gel and body moisturiser once a year around the autumn and it is £70ish for the lot. I stock up then.

But this time you are really losing weight - life changing amounts. Not just a stone. For me, the trick is to hang on to this lovely feeling of wearing whatever I want, and feeling good about myself. I do not feel invisible. I got hit on twice yesterday in the M&S Foodhall (bizarre 😂) but that hasn’t happened for years. I think mindful eating, exercise and monitoring will see you keep this off. 💪

Curious as to what was posted that got deleted? Another one of our code spammer interlopers?

I'm the same - lots of fluctuation, but looking at my apps, the last time I was below 95kg was pre-pandemic. Apart from a very short blip while in hospital for skull/brain surgery (and to be honest, I regained that weight in record time, it was really just the vile hospital food that did it).

I've had a mini whoosh! Down to 75.4 kg for a BMI of... drum roll please! ... 24.9!!!!!

Healthy BMI. I mean, wow. I can't process this.

KentishMama · 06/04/2025 09:01

Oh, wait, I actually came on for another reason.

LaMer is discontinuing my tinted moisturiser. It's silky and extremely moisturising and great for very sensitive skin. Any recommendations for a replacement?

Also, has anyone tried a primer that "blurs" or "fills" wrinkles? My Instagram seems to be full of ads.

I’ve not tried it myself but I also keep seeing ads - il makiage in particular! I think it’s this one:

I wonder how effective it is? The ads do remind me of polyfilla 😬

I just looked through my Fitbit weight history after reading this @tooextraimmaturecheddar and gosh it sobering. Mine goes back to 2015 and my lowest weight then was 185lbs in the september of 2015...weight started to creep on that winter and i was up to over 200lbs by the December. I then yo-yo for the next 2 years and got back down to 182lbs in the July of 2018 for going to the US on holiday and I felt amazing. I felt really fit, was running lots and going to spin classes - total cardio junkie. And then it all piled back on again! I'm now sitting at 171lbs so goodness knows when I was last this weight 🤯 Not in the last decade at least!

SerenePeer · 06/04/2025 11:52

Made it to the gym again this morning 🥳 Was just shy of 5k on the treadmill and it felt wonderful! Running is so much easier with 18kg less of me! Shocker. 😆

I wore a cropped tshirt and leggings that have never truly fitted me, so I was feeling pretty chuffed i could wear them and not look like a giant flump.

I need to catch up on work today, so it's an afternoon at the laptop for me.ight drag ds1 to the beach later though since he's home from uni. Get some vitamin D into him!

SerenePeer · 06/04/2025 11:54

Oh! And the scales FINALLY moved this morning - 1kg off so now 78.6kg 🥳 Healthy BMI you are in my sights and I'm coming to get you.

I use Armani luminous silk foundation. It is brilliant for older skin and gives a dewy finish. It is expensive though. I also use the NYX dewy setting spray.
