Welcome to thread 9 to fellow MN weight loss friends old and new!

Feel free to lurk or post, absolutely no judgement here, just support and encouragement as we head towards Easter Egg season, celebrate NSV’s, weight loss milestones and admire our new Summer Wardrobes ❤️

I’m on W21 D1 and on my first 7.5mg pen
F in my early 50’s
H 5’ 5.5”
SW 13st 11lb
CW 11st 0.8lbs
GW 10st (maybe 9st 7lb if I can)
Total loss so far 38.2lbs

Recommend the Shotsy app to monitor the amount of MJ in the system and pleasing graphs to look at…plus the MeThreeSixty body scan app to monitor inch loss for the weeks where weight loss is slow but you might have lost body fat etc. Both are free.
Feel free to swap recipes that might inspire anyone in a food rut, tips for side effects, exercise tips, tips for titrating up or down and we love a beauty/ style chat too 🥰

Happy Friday skinny bitches!

I have my mojo back! Dragged my ass to the gym this morning after procrastinating all week and my God I enjoyed it! I've already said to my DH "please remind me how amazing I feel after the gym the next time I say I'm not going!". I've had a really stressful week eaten like a dickhead and not lost any weight, but that single gym session has me right back on track. I did a 30 minute Peleton bootcamp and feel like I could conquer the world now! Exercise endorphins are the best.

Have a smashing Friday everyone. It's my baby's birthday today - 19 years old! (Wtf?) but he's not home from uni until tomorrow so we shall celebrate then 🥳

Della82 · 04/04/2025 09:13

Well done @Mounjaropen and @MsRumpole on getting into the next bracket down

@SerenePeer well done for hitting the gym it does make such a difference! I’ve not made it this week due to work travel and other commitments and i definitely notice not going

Della82 · 04/04/2025 09:18

Sorry I posted before doing my update!
I’m a day late due to travel for my weekly weigh in. I’ve had a helpful poo this morning and have lost 0.9kg this week

SW 90
CW 71.1

my original goal weight was 70 but I’m going to try for a bit more beyond there.

jabbed 7.5mg last night so hoping for a good week. my diet and exercise have not been the best this week but I did make sure I got my steps in every day and I took the stairs in my hotel and office so did elevate my heart rate a few times!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

KentishMama · 04/04/2025 09:43

Checking in! I've lost a fantastic 100g since my last weigh-in.

SW 93.1
CW 75.9

Plateaus are no fun.

RayonSunrise · 04/04/2025 09:45

@MounjaropenI really hear you on the addictive personality thing. I think I’ve alluded to my tendency towards that previously - in the past I’ve lost weight by locking into meticulously controlled diet and exercise (and because I’m a perfectionist once I’m going, done EVERYTHING right) - but I can’t sustain that focus over more than a year without getting obsessive, and then I burn out.

I’m really treasuring this jab-enabled ability to just eat less. It means exercise can be more sustainable for me and a bit less “perfectionist,” you know? Because I also work full time and have teens and elderly parents, so sometimes life is going to get in the way of my perfect self-care routine. Breaks in routine shouldn’t throw me off keeping going, but in the past it has.

Anyway - down another kg this week! And plantar fasciitis seems to be gone (thank you weight loss!), so I’m back to trying to build up to running again. I love a run - I’m slow and steady, but it’s still the most time efficient way I know to get my heart rate up for a sustained period of time, and so good for my mental health.

Goldleafcat · 04/04/2025 09:45

Happy Friday everyone! ☀️

Somehow I’ve lost another lb on the scales which takes me to 4lb off this week, not had this much progress since week 1 where I lost 6lbs. I’m excited as it takes me to just 1lb away from a 3 stone loss, but cautious as I know weight goes up and down a lot (on Monday morning I was back up to almost 14 stone, today I’m 13.8). Hopefully it puts me in good stead for this weekend which involves visitors, drink and food.

Have a lovely day everyone.

(I’m off to furiously tidy and clean the house!)

PinkArt · 04/04/2025 10:13

Thanks is for all the poo chat, gang! I'm wary of trying anything that speeds it all up again as I'm really enjoying not having to plan where the nearest loo is whenever I leave the house. More water is definitely something to try though as I might be a bit low.

Weighing in for the week and no change 😭

SW: 19st 9lbs
CW:16st 8lbs
1st GW: 17st 13lbs
2nd GW 15st 4lbs
TL: 3st 1lb

I'm definitely in a calorie deficit and have done a few good poos so I'm not sure why it's so slow/static at the moment. I was 16st 7.0 earlier in the week and hoping to hit 16st 6 this week but then it started to nudge back up and ended at 16st 8.2 today.

Mine was similar last week - I lost a pound during the week then by Friday it was back so I had not lost anything all week. But then this week it seems to have righted itself - double what I would normally lose on a good week. Fingers crossed you find the same and get a fab whoosh in the next few days!

Well done for getting moving at the gym - I've just done my Kardashians incline walk, walked the dog and completed my 87th Pvolve (particularly brutal heavy weight with the inner thigh Pball) and to use the advert slogan 'I feel Epic' 😂

Google tells me that I am now officially below 70kgs but I only work in imperial so I am impatient for my last stone bracket (and to think I used to be 8st 7lbs and worry I was fat...) and worse still, Bridget Jones was 9st 3lbs in her first book and we all felt her panic at being so 'fat'...😱

Have a fab weekend.

Woohoo! 1 kg is fabulous!

Keep going through the elderly parents phase. It is unbelievable how the constant strain impacts on your mental health and I most definitely had PTSD after it was all over. If I had my time again I would have taken way better care of myself to deal with the 00's of phone calls, hospital appointments, hospital admissions, never being able to speak to the actual doctor, parents presenting as sane when they had dementia - the full smorgasbord..! Instead I drank and ate my way through it - so whatever it is, it can wait an hour whilst you look after yourself first. Have a bag of stuff ready for hospitals for you - phone charger/book/ healthy snacks/water as the choice in hospitals is just breathtakingly poor or the inhouse M&S decide to add desperation tax on anything that looks like a non UPF....

When the going gets tough, a cheeky creme egg is allowed though 😂

I'm okay, a loss is a loss!

I've got a day off. Currently at the garden centre café drinking a leisurely latte, and then I'll take a big trolley full of shrubs home to plant. Lots of exercise about to happen - I'm sure digging counts!

Well you haven't gained so take that for the win.

Could it be hormones? Have you eaten enough to support your BMR otherwise your body might be in starvation mode and hanging on to it all?

Not weighing every day but feeling slimmer. Also feeling really disappointed as I thought I was on leave next week but it’s the week after 😭😂. Feeling very tired and in need of a week off so that’s a danger zone for me eating crap but I know this and need to push against it.

The calculators only give 2-300 between my BMR and TDEE, which doesn't sound right but also only gives me a really small deficit to work with.
Maybe I need to try adding breakfast back in. I've not been having any most of the time as I'm not remotely hungry, but a shorter fast period could be worth a try.

Edited

Disclaimer: I’ve not watched the live but I saw comments elsewhere posted by people a bit bemused that this wasThe same Caroline Hirons who also flat-out denied she was taking WLI but ‘was hitting the gym’ several months ago…and also claims she has lost ‘5 lbs’ since being on it since October?. I understand it is a private decision, but just avoid the question rather than state something that just isn’t true only then to announce the complete opposite months later. As an influencer you have to have trust surely?. Personally. I used to rate her skincare advice but recently (and since she started her own brand) I’m finding that she has been contradicting herself a lot. ‘You don’t need to send masses of money on a cleanser’ then introduces her own one for £££’s as an example.

Neck Botox is interesting though - but I’d be worried about affecting my Thyroid?

I’ve also seen a betterment in my bloods but I think that is as much to do with diet and exercise?

I’ll be honest, I get over myself and do buy a CH kit every now and then - esp if there is a a Kate Somerville Peptide power cream in it - so I’m equally hypocritical (but at least admit it 😂)

That's the digging done. Three new shrubs planted (an azalea, a camelia and a pieris), plus strawberries (I hope we don't get any late frost now), and I weeded a very large section of cottage garden that had been taken over by ground elder. Horrible stuff. Now off to take a bath, and then we're going out for dinner - to one of the fancy Pig Hotels. I may even have a cocktail (the alcohol free kind since I'm boring).

It's almost the weekend, people in my phone!
