Asked for picture of me holding up today's paper!

Has this happened to anyone else? Medexpress won't prescribe my Mounjaro (which I've been on for 6 months) unless I send a pic of me holding a paper with todays date. How ridiculous is that?

So I have to buy a paper which I've never done, send a pic of myself holding it, which means I need someone else to take the picture, and after doing that how on earth can they see the newspaper date if the pic needs to be a full body?

I'm wondering if anyone else has done this?
Thinking of jumping ship with Medexpress as they are very slow and now asked me to do this.

@IzzyHandsIsMySpiritAnimal

You could write any date on a piece of paper. You could write the previous week's date, take a photo and claim you didn't get anything. A printed newspaper is much more concrete evidence as it can be validated
You don't seem to quite be getting it.
If you are not overweight then you can't just send an old photo of when you were as the old photo won't have today's date on it.
People don't have random photos going back through the years of themselves holding up bits of paper that you could edit. .

If you are holding a piece of paper with todays date on it then it's going to be taken today as no one would have bizarrely taken a photo with todays date on it 5 years ago when they were bigger

@Shewantstogo

You also have to send full body pictures so guess not
But you don't have to send a picture of yourself on the scales showing the weight. They are all separate photos.

Weigh yourself wearing a massive backpack and show the number in the scale.
Photo yourself with something stuffed under your clothes.
Unless they insist you are naked.

It all seems so easy fur people to falsify

What???? Do you accuse people of doing crazy shit to get other medication or is it just weight loss injections that cause you this much mind wrangling?

Just going on the shit that's been posted on here to bypass the rules maybe..

Only if you have a photo from the past where you were fat and you are holding a piece of paper that today's date could be edited on.

What are the chances people have old photos of themselves holding up pieces of paper?

You've heard of AI I assume, sounds like child's play for that

In fact it could probably do the newspaper thing as well now I come to think of it

I take the shit stirring bollocks that people post here with a bucket of salt. It's always a friend who they just know is lying to get the jabs.

@B1indEye
If someone is going to use AI then it's all moot as they'll just make themselves large and take the photo

Woah. Why so hostile. People are talking about how fallible the system is and you've gone all hysterical

SilenceInside · 02/03/2025 18:43

@tipsandtoes if your full length picture shows a physique at odds with what the scales say then the prescriber will question it.

I'm pretty sure someone could easily visually add 10kg if they wanted to. I doubt it's very hard.

I'm on the drugs and know the system perfectly well. And I'm not the one using misogynistic slurs.

PlumpAndDeliciousFatcat · 02/03/2025 20:06

Well, this thread has been an entertaining read. Who knew Medexpress had introduced FBI-level criteria for proof of life?

SilenceInside · 02/03/2025 21:07

@tipsandtoes ok, I'm sure you're right and it's as easy as shopping at Sainsburys to get prescription only medication. I have no idea how I'd put 10kg of weight on my body whilst wearing figure hugging clothing, in a way that it would actually look like body fat. But perhaps I have no imagination, and not enough smarts to defraud a pharmacy. Thankfully I had, and still have, 10kg of my own fat so no need to try this.

You're right, so the OP doesn't need to leave the house, she just needs to up her AI game 😂

Where is the misogynistic slur? 🫤
I'm all for the medication. I think it's great that it's available for those who struggle.

I'm simply joining the part of the conversation talking about how the online procedures are so fallible. I didn't start that aspect of the conversation. Why are you policing it?

Maybe the education is making you hostile as I really have no idea why you've taken such exception to my contributions to this thread as they are in line with lots of others who are also saying how flawed some of the requirements of proof are. This is no criticism of anyone on here. Just a commentary on how ineffectual some requests are. .

Acc0untant · 02/03/2025 10:02

How old are you?
I'm 33 and I've never bought one.

I'm 50 and have been buying newspapers since I was 17. Now I mostly read online but I love to get the weekend newspapers in paper version. It's also great for air travel etc. Or if I'm abroad, I love to get the local/national newspapers of where I'm visiting to get a feel for the place. I am also a strong believer in the need to support good old fashioned newspaper based journalism so in addition to my online subscriptions (NYT, Irish Times, Guardian) I like to buy newspapers occasionally too. I accept I am a bit of a news junkie but to never have bought a newspaper seems incredible to me.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 04/03/2025 14:44

I’m still waiting to find out if the OP ever found out it was just a piece of paper with the date on…

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/03/2025 15:01

@Thisistotallygrim what did you do ? Take a selfie with the date on paper (normal) or buy a newspaper

they prob want to check as if been on it for 6mths they assume you have lost 2/4st if not make
