@KrankyKumquat I absolutely identify with what you said about anorexia. I’m going to confess that I was bulimic in my teens. Clear of it for many years. But even then my rhetoric to myself was horrific. I called myself pathetic and that I couldn’t even do an eating disorder properly as I didn’t have the self-control to starve myself. 😔

@PissedOffNeighbour22 we are so similar. I’m really, really trying not to buy things. I have piles of clothes everywhere. It’s too addictive. I may have to delete the app for a bit. You are not out of control. I wonder if to some extent it’s proving to yourself you can do it alone with a healthy - or not so healthy - dose of self-sabotage?

I am back to 8.7. I guess that’s progress! I have to keep remembering to fuel myself for the gym.

We have all got this. No matter where we are at.

Femeia · 31/05/2025 20:48

I’m very much nodding along to the discussion about the addictiveness of weight loss. I have managed to avoid the hoarding so far although I do really love Vinted.
i feel there is a danger in continually setting new, lower targets. For me, my target was 10.5 stone, then when I hit that, I wanted to be 10 stone as that was my wedding day weight (and lowest in adult life). Now I’ve hit that (just) I’m thinking 9 Stone 11 would be amazing as that would mean an 8 stone weight loss…. Also I do still have a big tummy and plenty of fat rolls round my middle, so there is definitely capacity for more to go. At the same time I have people saying I’m tiny, please don’t lose any more and dh saying he thinks I may be going too far. Do note that I’m a 14 on top and a 12 on the bottom so hardly skinny! And I’m about to go away on holiday for 2 weeks where I will eat well and have cocktails so I’m unlikely to be losing for quite some time (as would then need to lose all the lbs gained!). Have to say I’m looking forward to not feeling like a beached whale on the beach and I have some nice new (Vinted) holiday outfits.

AgathaMystery · 01/06/2025 16:15

Afternoon all… I’ve missed loads.

I’ve been away on a cruise and didn’t take my scales. My first week of not weighing daily since march 15 2024. I maintained my weight and inject 7ml every 8-9 days or so.

i’m a size 12 and don’t really plan to lose any more weight. I agree it’s addictive and have had to get a real hold on myself. I’ve deleted Vinted from my phone. And insta. And Reddit. I think I’m almost done with building a core wardrobe of very nice clothes that I never thought I could ever wear. It’s so weird.

There is so much psychology to this drug isn’t there. I think (I know) I will take some sort of GLP-1 forever, and I’m okay with that. My mood is a bit flat though. Has anyone else noticed similar??

KrankyKumquat · 02/06/2025 22:15

@AgathaMystery
Yes my mood has always been affected by MJ; I became very flat and apathetic. Since I've reduced dose it's improved but still not right and my sleep is still shocking.
I was interested to see you've come off socials. I'm considering the same, Reddit and Oushk maintenance group specifically. I don't find them supportive, and the obsession with weight, food, appearance, and the drug itself isn't good for me I think. This place feels safer, probably because we've been together for so long and the tone is less....I don't know, combative, competitive, frenetic? Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed talking about buying new clothes and getting into size 10 jeans too but too much of it is not doing my MH any good at all.
I don't know, it's a strange feeling. Physically, I feel fab but psychologically, I'm a bit creaky and the noise of SM definitely isn't helping.

AgathaMystery · 02/06/2025 22:18

Honestly I think it might be the cesspit of humanity. I left FB when I had DC over a decade ago. No regrets. I do miss instagram as I love looking at people’s gardens.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 05/06/2025 00:01

Bit late ordering this month and omg where have all the discounts gone? Last month I paid £135 for 7.5mg and this month will have to pay £189 for the 10mg from the same supplier as they now only do a one off discount for new customers 😣. I usually buy a double pack so this leaves me with my last order being in March and being overdue an order with no 10mg left in my stash to move on to (I still have two 5mg and a 7.5mg in the fridge). Feel a bit stuck whether to try to move on to another supplier who may not want to prescribe under bmi 25.

Choux · 05/06/2025 01:32

@PissedOffNeighbour22i ordered a 10mg from Family Chemist this week and paid £148 including postage. This did include a £10 voucher - not sure why but it’s my second or third £10 voucher in the 7 months I have been using them.

I tell them my BMI is c25 but really it’s 24 now and is 23.5 when at goal. I am currently 4 pounds heavier than goal after going on holiday last week. I passed my 6 month review with them last month when they wanted new photos so I am clearly not shaving too many pounds off my weight!

I think they are a maintenance supplier but I still don’t want to risk a refusal so add 7lbs to my weight every time I order.

Choux · 05/06/2025 01:42

Here’s their maintenance page. It says they will take people on if their BMI is 26 or above and then prescribe down to a BMI of 21 before they start giving you conditions:
“When we stop prescribing: As a general guideline, we would stop prescribing weight loss medications that you started using Mounjaro/Wegovy at a BMI of 30 or over to individuals with a BMI less than 20. Once your BMI hits 21 we will reduce your dose to the lowest maintanence dose of 5mg. If your BMI further lowers to 20 then we will stop lower your dose further and potentially stop your medication. “

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 05/06/2025 07:30

Thanks @Choux I’d seen them on the Monj list and remembered them from earlier threads as being reliable. Do you remember what they wanted from you when you registered with them? Did they need a scales photo for proof of weight? I’d been adding a stone to my weight with my current provider as they never asked for evidence.

Choux · 05/06/2025 08:27

I don’t remember what they wanted seven months ago but I had to provide a full body photo in form fitting clothes and a scales photo last month to keep ordering from them. I guess this was a six months ago review but could well be the same as a new patient review. I took the scales photo with a few weights in my pockets and made sure I didn’t capture my best angle in the full body photo! I have quite flabby arms still (I really should work out) which were quite clear when I held my phone up to take the photo.

imnottoofussed · 05/06/2025 11:20

Family chemist will now only prescribe me 5mg as I’ve reached bmi 21 and they don’t want it to go lower than 21. I was using 15mg. So yes they want us to maintain at 21 bmi.

I’ll be reporting a fixed weight from now on even if I’m lower as I actually want to get to a bmi in the 19s as still have a chunky stomach. I’ll be surprised if I manage to lose the last 10lbs anyway as I’m struggling currently on the 15mg pen I’m finishing off and have put 1lb on this week.

Smallsalt · 05/06/2025 14:13

@PissedOffNeighbour22 unless you are actually skeletal I dont think they can tell much from photos. My weight is a bit exaggerated when I change supplier and my pictures have never been questioned. Just take the most unflattering pic you can in your mist unflattering clothes and assume some bad posture!
I mean , I am faintly offended NOT to have been challenged!😁

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 05/06/2025 15:26

Thanks all. I can confirm I’m nowhere near skeletal and when I sent in a photo to current supplier they not only didn’t question the stone I added, they let me have 5mg with no evidence of previous prescription so I guess I still look FAT 🫣. It IS mildly offensive of them isn’t it @Smallsalt 😂.

I also have flabby arms @Choux so will get them in the photo. I did wonder if anyone had tried the extra pocket weights. I’m considering one last order from current supplier to ensure an up to date previous prescription and then moving over to a new supplier which will likely be family chemist as people seem happy with them. I’ve been avoiding Oushk as I got fed up of hearing all the love for them, but they may have to be one of my options in the long run.

KrankyKumquat · 05/06/2025 16:03

@PissedOffNeighbour22
There's been plenty of online criticism of oushk recently i think, to balance the very batty adoration 😅 . Apart from here, I've done a Social Media detox so I'm not seeing it anymore. They've improved their communication so send regular emails rather than relying on the awful FB groups, which I've left.

At the risk of coming across batty and adoring, I've been with them for almost a year now and have never had an issue, at all, ever, apart from this week when I ordered a tub of 100 docusate tablets but only got 3 boxes of 30. I dropped them an email yesterday, not complaining but pointing out they needed to update their website, today they emailed an apology, with another box of 30 dispatched.

For maintenance, i think they're responsible but hands-off which is suiting me. They also try to prioritise current customers during times of shortage so I still got my 5mg last time after they ran short - think this might come in very handy in the future.

Flapearedknave · 05/06/2025 16:10

I've moved over to oushk, I wasn't sure as not impressed with all the online crap, but they have been great for me.

Had a problem with delivery, as in the driver didn't wait for me to answer and they sent a new pen out no problem. Was stuck on hold a while, but I expected as much.

I won't be joining any Facebook groups though!

Everdecreasingcircumferences · 05/06/2025 16:18

Hi All

@FlappyFish thank you for continuing to share your journey and being so honest with yourself and us. It really is something to get your head around, being told you're underweight after years of overweight is some serious cognitive dissonance.
I'm in yet another stall, have in fact gained 2 kg (probably water not fat but still). I continue to hit the gym 3-5 times per week, still need to drink more eater and am prioritising protein etc. Not getting any accusations of being on the jab as my losses have been so slow in comparison to many. We're all on our own journeys and I am trying to keep focused on the fact that I'm 4 stone lighter than I was 2 years ago and that is a wonderful thing.
Am feeling a bit flat but I think that's probably due to not sleeping well this week and work being rubbish. Should really go to the gym today but I'm just not feeling it, am booked in for a 7am class tomorrow though and will go Saturday morning so that's 4 times this week and better than sitting on the couch. Life happens and this is not a straightforward process, this is definitely a week where the old me would have overindulged so I am grateful for the support MJ is giving me to not slip into old habits.
Suppression is still there in terms of feeling full more quickly during a meal but I am definitely feeling snacky and craving sugar (probably energy/dopamine seeking), just not giving in to it. Food noise is returning a bit, but is still at manageable level, total suppression is definitely not my experience at all!

Possibly I'm in burnout, have had so much to do and as a classic ADHD woman I overcommit and overestimate how much time I have to get everything done. I dont feel my (non-stimulant) meds are doing much for me at the moment but have only just moved over to the GP issuing my meds so no chance of a review any time soon (and maybe they are helping more than I realise).

Thanks all for continuing to post.

Choux · 05/06/2025 16:43

One last bit of love for the Family Chemist - I place my order every month on a Sunday and it always gets dispatched Weds and arrives Thursday which is a day I work from home. It comes via Royal Mail Guaranteed by 1pm and arrives about 10am when the postie is doing his rounds. It’s consistent. I think there may be other delivery options available but the Royal Mail works perfectly for me each time.

KrankyKumquat · 05/06/2025 17:14

@choux
Yep, reliability like that is worth a lot. I can't be doing with worrying about deliveries every month for the rest of my life potentially.

Moanranger · 05/06/2025 17:56

Not posted for awhile - I see above posters are managing pretty well - congrats!

NSV someone recently told me I looked younger (obliquely referring to my WL) Flattering, as wrinkles more pronounced, but that seems to be offset by lack of double chins and some evidence of cheekbones🙂
Re Oushk discussions, I moved over to them in Dec for maintenance. They have been absolutely fine. I am also on FB group. A lot of the “uproar” is due to mis-understanding by users as to how web site works in terms of booking appts & ordering. I have had no problem, but I think the website is a bit difficult to navigate.
Re FB, while I follow Oushk, my feed is inundated by my other interests (many humorous horse & other animal posts & some other stuff) so I miss out on the Oushk drama. Sorta passes me by. I do think newsletter is a better bet.
I may have to maintain on 7.5. I am slowly losing my post-op weight gain. When I stabilise at 2kg lower, I will need to review.
one benefit of the GLP-1 for me is loss of thrills re shopping. I went to M&S today to seek out a front-fastening bra, and was completely uninterested in any clothes. No joy re bra. These are v difficult to find, but I dipped my toe into Vinted again with some success (provided it arrives) I chose the size I am currently wearing and “new with tags” as I don’t fancy used underwear, even “only worn once”😱. It is red! (But only a fiver) But I need it until I can get my left arm behind my back -cannot at present and my partner has to help, which he finds amusing.
Yes, I know about the put it on backwards and circle it around method, but getting arm/shoulder through straps on operated side is challenging.
Slightly off-topic, but speaking of bargains & good customer service, I went to Tesco today to replace my 8 year old mobile, & was advised to buy the recommended model off Amazon -£80 cheaper- and return to them & they would do the migration (I am on their network). Can’t complain about that!

KrankyKumquat · 06/06/2025 10:02

@Moanranger
Yes that's excellent service from Tesco. Full of sympathy with you and your shoulder. I had a frozen shoulder, was 3 years till it 'thawed' - bras were a nightmare.

guestusername · 06/06/2025 12:30

Good afternoon! I am back today from a two week eat and drink what the hell i want holiday in Greece. I took my pen and had 2 doses of 5mg which gave me good portion control.

I jumped on the scales this morning and was 3lb heavier than I was two weeks ago. But it was also only 7 hours after getting off the plane and next to no sleep for over 24 hours so when official weigh happens tomorrow I’m hoping that will be a bit less. I also need a bloody good poo to be fair because what’s come out over the last two weeks certainly hasn’t equalled what’s gone in 😆

Choux · 06/06/2025 13:33

3lbs in two weeks is nothing! After a week in France I was 7lb heavier but 5 days of my usual low carb, no alcohol, low sugar best dieting effort has got rid of 5lbs of it. When I weighed myself on my return my digital scales app said my weight had changed significantly since last time I was weighed and asked me if it was my weight or should be assigned to someone else! 🤣

Is anyone about good with the ml v's mg?

I've 10mg left in the bonus dose but only need to use 8mg. How much ml would I need to extract, please?

0.48ml. 10mg pens are easier to work out as each ml equals 6clicks/0.06mls (or a 10th of one dose of 0.6), so 8mg from a 10mg is 8x0.06ml
