I’m ready to increase my dose now from 2.5mg but rather than jumping straight to 5mg, I plan to count the clicks for 3.75.
Is it best to inject the full 3.75 once a week or split the dose into 2 shots across the week?

I guess it would depend on whether you have had bad side effects from 2.5mg?
I used my bonus dose of 3.25mg as a step up last week and have done my first 5mg this morning.
Personally I wouldnt split the 3.75mg, I would do that in one go.
Do whatever you feel will work best for you, I think we all tweak and just hope for the best result and minimal side effects!😊

If you have done 4 weeks on 2.5mg why wouldn't you go straight to 5mg? Have you already had safe effects on 2.5mg?

The people who find moving up to 5 difficult often post about it here but the majority of people go from 2.5mg to 5mg with no problem at all.

Someone got cut off as their BMI had got below 23.5! Which is the top of the healthy BMI for Asians. So they offer maintenance as long as your BMI is above that point and can't get a bit lower! So basically they don't offer maintenance

Definitely switching then, that's stupid!

I think it was just the fear that I could have side effects to be honest. I think I will move to 3.75 for a couple of weeks (single injection) and then go to the 5 if/when needed. Thank you all for your advice 😊

diian · 16/09/2024 21:42

Definitely do 3.75mg for a couple of week. Doubling your dose is a massive step up for your body. I jumped from 5mg to 6mg rather than going up to 7.5mg and the side effects of an upset stomach and cramps for 3 days was awful. It really limited work and my anxiety was through the roof.

I hope you are feeling better now. I’ve read a few posts where people have had similar experiences which has prompted my decision to increase gradually.

LastTimeLosingIt · 16/09/2024 23:16

Weigh in day for me.

5 x 2.5mg
1 x 3.25mg

Lost 2.5 stone / 35 pounds / 17kg / 12% of body weight.

Feeling much better. Constipation still an issue. Injected 5mg today.

LastTimeLosingIt · 16/09/2024 23:21

Also, a MedExpress update. Ordered Sunday evening. Approved Monday morning. Dispatched Monday afternoon. Due for delivery (according to message from Royal Mail) Tuesday morning.

This is the third speedy delivery I've had from them.

mjdle · 11/09/2024 13:45

Sorry if I've missed this, did a quick scan but couldn't see anything recent. Does anyone know who's doing cheapest 7.5? Need to do a med express price match so hoping someone has it at hand before I do the big trawl tonight 😁

How did you do this? Just a screenshot and message - did they honour it? Thank you!

Tireduk · 17/09/2024 07:02

I thought I read that Family Chemist are now doing a support, maintenance period. Does anyone know if they price match like Med Express? Like everyone I’m trying to keep the cost down however I’m also planning for my cut off BMI that is slowly getting closer. I’ve tried them in past and they seemed okay.

SnacklessWonder · 17/09/2024 09:38

Side effects. I had none on 2.5mg, feeling a bit nauseous on 5mg - did first dose Sunday but actually I'm exhausted and full of anxiety so it could be that.

Anyhow; I always do my jab late afternoon/teatime Sunday and Monday nights OMG. I am up peeing every 30 minutes and I'm not exaggerating. Starting to dread it! Anyone else had excessive pee?

SnacklessWonder · 17/09/2024 14:35

In other thoughts - I'm hungrier and have less willpower on 5mg - is that normal?!

MountKilimounjaro · 17/09/2024 16:02

@Tireduk I'm with Family Chemist. They don't price match but their prices are competitive and it's so good not to have to worry about discount codes and emailing about better pricing.

Shipping is quick and well packaged, it just seems to work nicely. I've previously used Pharmacy2U and MedExpress, Family Chemist are the best of those.

If you started with them when you were above a BMI of 25 then they will continue to subscribe indefinitely (unless you get to a BMI of 17 when they will of course stop).

I found it very easy to move to them, really fuss free.

The only possible downside is that you have to buy a big pack of needles and wipes upfront as you're only getting the pen, I personally prefer this and it was very cheap and better quality of needles than MedExpress send. There are opening discount codes which covers the cost of the extras.

I don't know, but I'm finding the same! I'm halfway through my second 5mg pen and I think I might up my next dose slightly. I wish I'd gone for a 7.5mg pen but I was doing OK on the first one and didn't feel like I needed to titrate up.

Exactly the same for me

Pinkyp22 · 17/09/2024 17:40

@SnacklessWonder
I not sure if it makes me wee more, possibly because it makes me so thirsty all the time, but something I have noticed is my wee smells very chemically for a day or two after injection day!

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 17/09/2024 18:08

@Tireduk Family Chemist are one of the cheapest and many often use their pricing to send medexpress to price match!

MamaBearH · 17/09/2024 18:30

I keep getting email notifications to say I've been quoted & thanked in the forum but I can't see those on the app so apologies if I've missed any replies.

Jimmyneutronsforehead · 17/09/2024 18:30

Gained 1kg since my last weigh in but this is my first week splitting my 7.5mg into 5 for 5 days coverage and 2.5 for 2 days coverage, and I think since doing that my appetite suppression has been better, definitely no side effects so far, but this 1kg gain is affecting me more than it should.

I'm trying to remind myself I need to focus on other areas of my life too. I've had poor sleep lately, have been very stressed out with pending work capability meetings, the dog, and the return to school for my SEN child, and dealing with back to school bugs and I've felt too burnt out to exercise so I am trying to listen to my body more too and be kind to myself.

I need to have a big sleep reset, so I'm going to splash on some new bedding to try and make the bed more comfy. I get the worst sugar cravings when I haven't slept well.

I have been doing really well at the eating half a meal and waiting 20 minutes to see if I'm actually still hungry though before I finish it, but losing weight has made me realise I live with feeders. They get really offended irrationally if you don't clear your plate when they've cooked and any weight loss is "too fast" for them.

Anyway cross your fingers and toes for me that I get to sleep before 11pm and DS doesn't do another 4am wakeup special, I can't have another day of wanting sugar like I have today.

I've just placed my order for a 7.5mg pen from MedExpress yesterday and it's being delivered in 2 days apparently. I'm not sure how many more I'll be able to afford though so just taking it one order at a time. I'm using a broken phone that refuses to make or receive calls that I could have probably replaced by now but instead I'm skinnier so can't be too mad at that lol.
I used the end of my 2.5 pen to make a dose around 3mg. This week I used my spare 2.5 pen to make a dose of 3.75mg. I've had an upset stomach but the weird thing is that my stomach keeps rumbling like I'm hungry (I am) but I feel too nauseous to eat. I swear I'll puke if I do. I might actually make a slice of gluten free toast later to see if it stays down (I'm coeliac btw). I can't even face liquids cause I thought I could maybe have a smoothie or something. I preferred it when I didn't feel hunger at all. Not sure whether to do another week of 3.75 or attempt 5mg on Sunday. Anyone else find their hunger come back?

Lastchancefatty · 17/09/2024 19:03

Just need to vent. So pissed off. Every month it's anxiety trying to time my delivery around when the pharmacy decides to despatch and the day that no one is ever home. So they're not the cheapest but I decided to ditch zava and go with cloud pharmacy as they do Saturday dpd. Booked and paid for my Saturday delivery and it's been bloody despatched and is coming the day no one is home! I can't believe I paid more for a Saturday and they post it out on Tuesday! 🙄 AND the parcel shop by my work, I apparently can't divert it to. AND dpd don't give the option of NOT delivering to a neighbour which I sure as hell don't want. Arrgggghhh!

GlueNoGlue · 17/09/2024 19:20

NSV (I think?) one of my children’s teachers came out of class this afternoon to tell me how well I looked and asked for my trick. I told her I was on mounjaro and she said ‘oh thank goodness, you lost so much so fast I was worried you were ill’ she meant it nicely so I’m taking it as a compliment, mostly!

Timetofindme · 17/09/2024 22:11

@MamaBearH I'm only on 2.5 so sure someone more experienced will be along with advice soon.

My first week (and to a degree my second) I felt really sick and even the thought of eating was gross. But the nausea decreased when I did eat. So I tried for a smoothie (with protein powder) in the morning as I could have small gulps of it over a couple of hours.

I think the meds made me feel sick, but not eating made it even worse. Might be worth trying something small (banana? Protein shake) and gradually just to see if having something in your stomach helps. Easier said than done though!

Pinkyp22 · 17/09/2024 22:43

Has anyone used curate Pharmacy?

cakewench · 17/09/2024 22:51

Curious about the Family Chemist- every time I try to load the website, my browser tells me it’s not secure and won’t allow me to proceed. This is in every device I have.

is the purchasing on their website not encrypted?
