Hi all,

Thought I would start a thread for those that started quite early on and would like a space to chat with others that started around the same time. Like the threads that are dedicated to those starting in May, June, July etc thought it would be nice to have a space for people have have been on for similar amount of time.

@April88 you look awesome!! I don’t really have any pics I don’t think. I will have to have a look and trawl back. Def don’t have a recent one!!!

@April88 @rainbowsandinfinitesparkles I buy through Asda and recieved an email from them a little while ago about increasing the dose and it said about 7.5mg not being a maintenance dose and moving onto 10mg so I just thought it was what you had to do. If you can stay on 7.5mg that's great, thank you very much for letting me know. I think I'll wait until I am no longer losing weight and then move up. I have had some side effects on the lower doses so trying to hold out as long as possible, although I have indulged during the summer holidays so am surprised my weight has dropped at all ☺️

Wonkypictureframe · 22/08/2024 21:54

@April88 you look amazing!

BatFaceGrrrll · 22/08/2024 22:41

Great thread and happy to have found it as it sort of fits where I am

I started in April at 14 stone 12 and I'm now 10 stone 9 with perhaps 10lbs or so left to lose. I've never gone up from 2.5

Obligatory pics attached showing my up to date progress - and yes, they're green trousers but they look better in real life with a denim jacket and trainers I promise 😀

@April88 you look incredible! Well done!

I only don't have the overhang as I 'cheated' a few years ago and had a tummy tuck (which I came perilously close to wrecking by going up to nearly 15 stone!)

AgathaMystery · 23/08/2024 02:52

@BatFaceGrrrll you look fantastic too!!

Wonkypictureframe · 23/08/2024 06:34

Wow, @BatFaceGrrrll! You look wonderful.

ObsidianTree · 23/08/2024 07:46

Amazing @BatFaceGrrrll. Also amazing staying on 2.5mg the whole time

Broke my stall today. Dropped 2lbs over night. Not my official weigh day but thought I would share anyway.

I have been on MJ since the start and have read about everyone's stalls and the mental stress stalls cause. I've tried to be zen about it because I know from seeing others journeys that they are normal and weight losses will start again eventually, but I still can't help over thinking it! All sorts has gone through my head since I started stalling, maybe this is it for me and I won't lose anymore... the higher doses aren't working on me ... I'll never lose the weight etc etc etc! So today I have lost some weight and I'm back to being optimistic and content 🤣 bloody annoying brain!

You look fab *BatFaceGrrrll *and I'm digging the green trousers. I've always admired bright and bold clothes but never had the confidence to wear things like that, until now. I look like a children's presenter these days with my bright colours and eccentric boilersuits.. and I love it.

Nice one on breaking the stall Obsidian I bet that's a lovely boost! My weight loss has slowed right down too but I'm fine with that as I'm so close to my goal.

I had the best of intentions to start going to the gym regularly to work on toning but I'm only averaging once a week at the minute. I just can't seem to find a time that is convenient with 3 DC during the holidays 🤦🏼‍♀️

Wonkypictureframe · 23/08/2024 08:22

That’s great, @ObsidianTree. Those mind games are horrible. I think we all get that.

I’m at the start of my holiday and while I have suppression, I’ve eaten more (and worse) this week than normal. There are two mirrors in the place we’re currently staying, one makes me look huge, and it’s making me miserable. I’m torturing myself that I’m basically back to where I started even though I KNOW that three stones have not reappeared.

Please don't be so hard on yourself. You've lost an incredible amount of weight and should be really proud of that. You are categorically not going to undo all of your hard work on one holiday.

That being said I've had thoughts like that too, this can all feel a bit precarious at times can't it? Almost like we're only a couple of bad food days away from undoing it all, so I do get it.

I think most of us have dropped the ball at points, I know I have, but that's ok because we can't be stuck in 'lose' mode forever.

If it makes you feel better - I had mcdonalds the other day followed by garlic bread, yesterday I was drinking coke and eating chocolate. I'm still down 1.5lbs this week and even if I wasn't, I know it would soon fall off as I'm not going to do it every day - or to excess. We all have shit weeks food wise. Hang in there and stop worrying about it until you get home. Have a fab holiday 😀

April88 · 23/08/2024 10:09

@BatFaceGrrrll as do you, well done!

What expiry dates are people getting delivered at the moment? Is it still October on the 15mg and November on the 12.5mg? What about 10mg pens?

I have 2 x 15mg in the fridge with October expiries and a 12.5mg with a Nov expiry. So these are the next three pens I will use. But I need to order again in 4 weeks time and need a pen with a long expiry date.

My 10 was April 25. Pharmacist at Oushk recently said there are no longer date 15s in UK at the moment. Sorry don't know about 12.5 but as relatively new, would guess same as 15s but sure someone else might be able to confirm.

I think all 12.5mg are Nov 24 and 15mg is Oct 24.

Not sure what will happen when it gets to Oct! Will they still send the 15mg Oct pens! Very frustrating!

We need to go on expiry date watch and report here if anyone gets longer dated higher dose pens!

ObsidianTree · 23/08/2024 13:57

Yes that would be great!

I have been holding off ordering as I don't want another Oct expiry 15mg! But don't want to leave it too late between orders!

Big NSV involving my scales. I just noticed them age me at 2 years below my age! I got off and back on to double check and it was then only 1 year below my age so not sure exactly how accurate this measurement is but...

Before I discovered Mounjaro and lost 30lbs they used to age me at 8 years above my actual age!!!

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 23/08/2024 14:07

@Wonkypictureframe hotel mirrors are the devil's work so don't worry too much about what you look like in them.

You're allowed to relax the diet on holiday, I'm sure you're not eating half the buffet 😂. I've been pretty bad the last couple of days too - as a celebration of hitting 5st loss I ate 3 biscuits, a KFC and an Indian takeaway. It's fair to say I now have a new goal of hitting 5st to reach 🫣. It happens to us all so don't worry too much. You'll have lost it all again within a couple of weeks of being home.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 23/08/2024 14:12

Today's weigh in was a weird one as I didn't realise I'd lost so much during the past week.

Last week I was 11st 2lb 6oz then got down to 10st 11lb 8oz a few days ago which is a much bigger loss than I'm used to these days. I've not been exercising and not been that good with food so seems odd I lost so much. I'm back up to 10st 12lb 2oz today as I overindulged a bit.

Wonkypictureframe · 23/08/2024 18:30

Thanks, you lot. I’ve actually not eaten much (to the extent that it’s been tricky knowing what to order at meals out and I pick things I know other family members will happily finish off!) but cheesy chips does NOT feel like a diet. :-)

Excellent NSV, @Choux! Congrats on ageing backwards.

Seriestwo · 23/08/2024 18:35

It’s great to read of NSVs.

mine is that I copied “shop my loft” and I am comfortably in a pair of size 16 trousers I never thought I’d wear again. I’m amazed.

Pigriver · 23/08/2024 19:52

Hi all,
Just checking in. I've now been off MJ for 6 weeks after titrating down. It's been tricky at times as I'm out of routine as off work with the kids and been away camping twice. Still managing to maintain within 3lb of target and trying to keep up the good habits. This last week has been hard as I visited my parents (both overweight) and the was barely a vegetable in sight. I ordered small/kids meals when out and if I wanted a dessert I ordered a kids portion.
It's a conscious effort to reduce my portion size and remind myself that hunger is fine but I don't have to react immediately. I have a drink, wait a bit, get busy etc rather than reaching straight for food.
In a way I'll be glad to get back to work and in a routine with food but obviously not in too much of a rush!

izzy2076 · 23/08/2024 20:13

So I go to a bodybuilding gym. I've been going there for years and until losing weight never received any unsolicited opinions on my body shape only on how good my lifts were. Today I had two men who I've known for years appraise my physique (very targeted critique ie waist size etc) and how much weight I'd lost with a comment at the end saying 'don't forget to train legs!' (Which I have always done but now they are skinny as I'm apple shaped. ) I found this interaction really awkward and intrusive. I know they thought I'd be flattered. I am sick of people giving their unsolicited opinions on my weight loss. The receptionist at work every day tells me 'you don't want to lose any more weight surely?' I can't stand it. Women's bodies are never good enough are they? Also, the assumption that I'm doing this to look a certain way when that's actually at the bottom of my list of reasons. Added to that, my daughter has told me she thinks I've got an eating disorder as I'm no longer inhaling carbs.

I'm actually BMI 24 so hardly in the high risk territory bearing in mind I'm still overweight according to the NHS due to my ethnicity!
