The first thread was almost full, so I thought I'd start a second so we can carry on the fab support!
I don't think I could manage tagging everyone!! But here is the link to the first thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight-loss-injections/5101435-mounjaro-july-2024?page=1

My face did some happy leaking this morning when I saw 10st 7lb on the scales. At 43 years old, I now weigh less than I did when I was 14 years old.

BamberGirl · 18/11/2024 15:44

That’s amazing @MounjaroMunchie well done!! 👏👏👏👏

Lumirubin · 21/11/2024 15:01

I seem to have had a little whoosh after maintaining for a bit and have lost 3lbs. Putting me at a total loss of 4st 1lb! Can't actually believe I've lost 4 stone! I'm bang on 14stone now, so one more pound and I'll see a 13 on the scales for the first time in about 5 years. And my little secret win, our scales are smart ones so they recognise who is on them based on your weight. This morning for the first time it asked me to confirm if it was me or DH because I'm within 7lbs of his weight now! Woo! I mean he's over 6ft and normal range BMI and I'm 5ft 5 and still obese 😂 but I'm still taking it as a win that I'm nearly not the heavier of the two of us!

That's brilliant @Lumirubin , and great that you've confused your scales! I have about 10kg to go before I weigh less than my DP, who is a similar scale to yours.

Mounjaroooooh · 21/11/2024 16:05

Haven't posted for a while, had a lot going on but I'm happy to report I'm almost stone down, in size 12 jeans and 14/tops instead of size 22 when I started. I'm now on 10mg and the suppression is strong again, 5 was great, moved to 7.5 which wasn't, so went up to 10.

Looks like everyone is doing brilliantly, I'm so pleased for you all...and me Grin

Wow, congrats @Mounjaroooooh what a win!! Well done.

SilenceInside · 22/11/2024 09:50

Happy chilly Friday morning, weigh-in day for me.

Current stats:
SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 104.8kg (16st 7 lbs)
GW: 100kg (15st 11 lbs) third interim goal.

I've now done 20 weeks on Mounjaro, which seems to have flown by. I've hit a milestone today, which is that I've lost 25% of my original starting weight, from 139kg down to 104.8kg, which is 34.2kg or 75 pounds. I really want to be under 100kg by Christmas which is starting to look very possible. I'm finally starting to believe that I might be a healthy weight by the time it's summer next year and I won't spend all of June, July and August cursing myself for being a huge sweaty mess!

KeepinOn · 22/11/2024 11:52

Nice work, @SilenceInside ! It definitely looks doable to reach your under 100kg goal, but either way, be sure to focus on the massive win of 25% below starting weight. That's amazing!

I weighed myself today as well - I'm now officially only overweight! By 600g, but I'll take it. My losses are very much slow and steady at this point, my expectation is to reach healthy BMI range by late spring next year. I still can't even imagine making it that far, it's not how I see myself.

MounjaroMunchie · 22/11/2024 17:00

Congratulations @SilenceInside and @KeepinOn - brilliant work!

EternalFatalist · 22/11/2024 18:48

Hello and happy Friday!

So I have just finished my fourth MJ pen (1 x 2.5mg, 3 x 5mg) and have lost 3st 1lb since the beginning of July. Current weight is 12st 10 lbs - when I hit the 12s last week, I was so happy. I'm 3.5 lbs away from being out of the "Obese" BMI category and have lost 26.5 inches, including 8 inches from my waist. 😀

I'm continuing with 5mg because it is still working and I am happy with a steady 2lb/week loss rate. I ordered a pen from ASDA (my supplier since Day 1) last week on Tuesday evening, it was approved within 3 minutes (!), and was delivered by 1pm the following day. They are always good but wowza!

I'm still always cold (my only side effect) so this week has been hell with the weather.

Wishing everyone a good weekend and happy to see everyone's losses and NSVs, and the supportive community here on MN. ❤️

MounjaroMunchie · 22/11/2024 20:13

I feel you on the cold @EternalFatalist - this week has been a major struggle. My hot water bottle has had some serious use, and I'm currently sat here browsing Black Friday deals for a new dressing gown 😂

KeepinOn · 22/11/2024 20:23

I feel the cold even when not on MJ so this side effect has been especially hard on me. Partly why I went for a full spectrum blood test - nowt wrong, just the drug side effect amplified by my own propensity. I don't eat ice cream unless it's been 30c every day for at least a week (so, only when I'm in majorca basically), I can only wear shorts if I'm doing exercise. This week has made me want to cry at times. Really fed up of feeling cold. My entire Xmas list consists of fluffy socks and pj's, knock off oodies, and a heated vest. 🥶

SilenceInside · 22/11/2024 20:47

@KeepinOn me too with the Christmas list! Heated blankets, long water bottles, gloves, hand warmers...

Prior to starting the injections, I was never cold. I would be barefoot around the house and usually short-sleeved too. I would often kick the duvet off me at night. The change is dramatic. I can be under two blankets, wearing multiple layers, ordinary socks and fluffy socks and still be shivering cold. I only tend to warm up when I've got two hot water bottles under the blankets with me!

Feeling cold when dieting is apparently a thing, not just a WLI thing, although I've not experienced it when previously dieting. Maybe I was not consistently under calories for long enough for the effect to be noticeable.

Wishing warmth to all the other shivering July starters @MounjaroMunchie , @EternalFatalist and anyone else who's as chilly as me at the moment!

KeepinOn · 22/11/2024 20:53

Interesting about it being a dieting thing. I can't be sure, but I think I started feeling the cold when I lost a decent amount of weight about 10 years ago. Haven't really been the same since, even after putting it back on again.

MounjaroMunchie · 23/11/2024 07:44

Morning all. 2lb off for me this week, which means I've broken through the 2st barrier since being on MJ, and I am no longer obese! Feeling quite emotional this morning.

SW 12st 7.0lb
CW 10st 6.2lb
GW 9st (interim)

BMI - 29.9!

Congratulations @MounjaroMunchie !!!

diian · 24/11/2024 11:34

Keep going @MounjaroMunchie

I found my NHS ‘our future health’ research results that I took part in during April 2023.

I weighed 85kg in April 2023, now I weigh 66kg. I am 168cm in height and my waist measured 95cm in April 2023 so over the recommended half your height max. It now measures 75cm. That is 20cm lost with MJ and significantly under half your height!! Wooohooo!

I think my future health would be delighted if MJ helped the health of nation reflect my results.

PlinkyPlonkyDonkey · 28/11/2024 08:09

What are people doing / planning to do when it comes to downsizing doses? Waiting till you reach your target weight, or starting to reduce doses as you get close to target? I've lost 38 pounds and have another 8 to go to reach my target. I've lost on average 7 pounds/month but it's slowing down now. So maybe another 2 months (ish) to lose the last bit. I'm on 10mg, and thinking of starting to reduce the dose from my next pen...but a bit nervous that the hunger will come back with a vengeance so maybe I'm best continuing at 10mg till I hit target. Then at least I'll have 'made it' and just try to maintain - rather than still trying to lost whilst tackling hunger.

SilenceInside · 28/11/2024 08:30

I'm not sure what I'm going to to when I get near to maintenance. I'm about half way through my "journey" so I think I'll be near to target somewhere around April. Ideally I don't want to take a long term maintenance dose, so at some point I'll have to get used to life without the injections. If I'm on a higher dose I suppose I might try stepping down to a lower one before totally stopping.

JaneFallow · 28/11/2024 08:54

Great to hear of all the successes - congratulations to all!

Am in a similar place, Plinkyplonk, in terms of whether to start titrating down as I try and shift the last half stone or so, or wait 'til I'm there. I haven't gone above 6mg.

I've had some unrelated health difficulties and a hospital procedure, the recovery from which has challenged my new way of eating, as carbs have been calling to me very loudly. I've managed to limit that, but my reflex to use food to provide a 'lift' in the face of difficult circumstances is clearly really, really strong. I need to find some non-edible 'rewards' when life is hard. Not seeking comfort in bread, or sweet or snacky things is going to be one of the keys to maintenance...

KeepinOn · 28/11/2024 13:59

I'm going to titrate down over a long period of time, ideally as long as it took to get to goal weight. But I think I'll stay at goal weight and dosage for a few months before working my way down again. I feel like this medicine has helped me in more ways than just to lose weight, brain fog lifted, no feelings of addiction to food, etc. I need time to settle into my new normal, which I haven't really even achieved yet. I expect to achieve goal around April/May next year, which will be 10/11 months. Then I'll 'sit' there for a while, because I'll need to make sure I have a clear idea of what my maintenance calorie needs are. Then I'll titrate down. Slow and steady wins the race!

SilenceInside · 29/11/2024 09:57

Another Friday weigh in day seems to have whizzed round super quick.

Current stats:
SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 102.3kg (16st 1.6 lbs)
GW: 100kg (15st 11 lbs) third interim goal.

Total of 5st 11lbs or 36.7kg lost to date.

A major milestone for me is that I have now lost exactly half of the weight that I need to lose. From this point on I have less left to lose than I have already lost, which is psychologically very pleasing. I don't feel so much like it's an uphill struggle now.

Windsweptandweird · 01/12/2024 20:36

Hi.
Can I join this group please?
I'm newly returned to MN after a decade off, and started taking MJ on 17th July. I'm currently on 10mg, and 49lb down. I started at 16st3, andim now 12st11. It's been 30 years since I was this weight. MJ has changed my life. ❤️

diian · 01/12/2024 20:44

Welcome @Windsweptandweird and congratulations at losing 49lbs!
