I didn’t post last week as I have been on holiday (had a great time), came back and I am now feeling so cold! The electric blanket is my best friend!

So week 16 completed…amazing that I have managed to keep this up. I am sticking with 6mg dose as I have good appetite suppression and few side effects.

So progress is

Week 1 - 4
Total loss on 2.5mg = 5.3kg

Week 5 - 13
Total loss on 5.0mg = 5.8kg

Week 14 -16
Total loss on 6.0mg = 1.2kg

Total weight loss = 12.3kg (27lbs)

I know my weight loss has been much slower than others, but I am really happy with my progress. I am also hoping that the changes in my diet and exercise will have a longer term impact.

Some great weight losses this week and congrats to JaneFallow on the 20kg loss and diian on nearly hitting your target. Lumirubin - you look amazing in that dress.

It is interesting to read people’s comments on Mental Health and it got me thinking on why I started mounjaro. Obviously I was hoping to lose weight and be healthier, but sometimes we need more than just this. Six months ago I was diagnosed with a lump in my breast, fortunately it was not cancer and the NHS removed the lump quickly. I am very grateful for the amazing treatment I received. However this, relatively minor health scare, made me look at my both my physical and mental health. I know some people think it is a sign of weakness that I have to take drugs to control my weight but I have found it empowering. I am really starting to see improvements in the way I view myself. I don’t feel so overwhelmed, I have more confidence and I feel in control. I also think other people can see my positively too.

So onwards and upwards in health!

Morning gang. Weigh-in day for me, and it's another week of 0.4lb off, so just a 0.8lb loss in the last fortnight. Bit frustrating, but I'm just going to have to try and drink more water, and trust the process - I'm 100% still in deficit (I re-calculate TDEE and BMR with every loss). My new scales are showing tiny increases in muscle mass and tiny decreases in body fat too, so there's also that, but I'm not sure how much I trust them to be super accurate.

WeepingInASunlitRoom · 20/10/2024 09:10

I've spent two weeks losing and gaining the same two pounds, I thought I'd broken through the stall but no, this morning it's back on again so zero progress made in a fortnight. I think I only lost about 5lbs in September, and October isn't looking any more promising, it is extremely disheartening.

I had a similar trigger to you @LittleLlama in that I had a cancer referral which also turned out not to be - but it really did make me focus on my health and it motivated me to take this plunge. As much as I am unhappy with the way the weight loss has slowed to a crawl (obviously because I can't get myself to a 5mg dose), I was on a path of continuously gaining so I have to look at myself as being two stone down on where I was in July but also think of what I would be now if I'd kept on as I was. If all I can do is stop myself from putting on weight, that's better than the alternative!

I'm also really distrustful of the scale analysis @mounjaromunchie - I look at it, but am never convinced! I'm plugging away at the gym in between all the colds that autumn throws my way and I feel like I'm gaining some muscle at least!

Love the dress @Lumirubin it looks amazing on you!

Mounjaroooooh · 20/10/2024 15:13

3lbs off this week and happy to report I'm into the 11s...yay! The suppression wasn't great again on the 7.5 last week so I've taken a 5 dose today as that was stronger suppression for me. Will see how it goes. Have 3 doses left in the current pen and have a 10 standing by, I'm thinking of stockpiling a few as my BMI is now 30 and I don't want cutting off just yet. I'm 11'13 today and at 5 ft 1, that is far too heavy and I'm still in the obese category!

Congratulations for all the losses this week, we're doing this 👏

KeepinOn · 21/10/2024 15:11

Quite glad I didn't bother weighing sooner than today, I think the family birthday week potentially slowed me down, but 5lbs in 3 weeks is a really decent loss even so. Takes me to nearly 2.5 stone off since I started in the beginning of July.

We were putting camping gear into the loft (recently had it boarded, so exciting, everything is going up there now haha!) and I found some walking trousers I'd bought for a camping trip during summer 2020. I haven't fit in them since, and now they fit perfectly. I have a walk planned this weekend so I'm pleased to be able to get them on for that! So I guess I've officially lost all my lock-down weight, too. Crazy to think how easily that 2.5 stone crept on over the past four years. It's only a bit over a half a pound a month, really easy to lose track of that, especially since I don't weigh myself as standard. I may need to revisit that policy and do a monthly check-in with my weight once I reach my goal. I grew up watching my mother's disordered eating habits and obsession with weight, so I went in the opposite direction and refused to even think about my weight for a long time.

MounjaroMunchie · 23/10/2024 15:32

@diian CONGRATULATIONS! How are you feeling? What are your plans for maintenance?

diian · 23/10/2024 16:10

It feels fantastic! It has only taken me 3 pens to get here (as me and 7.5mg just did not get on!) I have 2 x 5mg pens in the fridge which I plan to use in 2.5mg doses over 8 weeks each to maintain. That should give me 4 months of support for maintaining. I might post some photos on the main thread later, as that was the thread that got me started on this journey. Thank you for your kind words and support @MounjaroMunchie .

LittleLlama · 23/10/2024 18:44

@diian - Congratulation - you must be over the moon 🌙. It is very encouraging to hear of your success and it would be lovely to know how your plans for maintenance go.

Lumirubin · 24/10/2024 09:09

@diian congratulations!! So exciting to see someone reach their goal. Well done

Lumirubin · 24/10/2024 09:19

I've officially hit 20% of my body weight lost this morning.
SW 18st 1lbs
CW 14st 6lbs
Total lost 3st 9lbs

BMI has gone from 42.2 to 33.7 which is exciting, but may also be the reason that my MJ journey comes to an end sooner than I would have thought! I needed a BMI lower than 35 to be able to have fertility treatment, and since I hit that a few weeks ago we started the ball rolling and I have appointments in the next few weeks. Once I have a definite date for starting I'll have to go cold turkey on MJ! Id really like to hit that 4stone mark before that happens though ideally!

OP posts:
diian · 24/10/2024 11:25

Fingers crossed @Lumirubin that the fertility treatment goes well. Congratulations on hitting 20% off. Thank you for your support and kind words on this thread.

MounjaroMunchie · 24/10/2024 12:11

That's wonderful news @Lumirubin - I've got everything crossed for you!

KeepinOn · 24/10/2024 12:49

Oooh, congratulations and good luck, @Lumirubin !

HotCrossBunplease · 24/10/2024 17:12

Very best of luck @Lumirubin . You’ll be an old hand at doing injections if you are having IVF! (I had IVF years ago, the pens are exactly the same).

Lumirubin · 24/10/2024 19:14

@HotCrossBunplease just a frozen embryo transfer so less injections! I did a few rounds to get DD and we've got some frosties left. It definitely made the MJ injections easier!

LittleLlama · 24/10/2024 19:34

Well Done Lumirubin - and good luck! 🤞

SilenceInside · 25/10/2024 09:53

My last October weigh-in, seems crazy that it's already been 16 weeks. Just done dose 4 from my current 7.5mg pen and will be sticking to 7.5mg for the next pen.

Current stats:
SW: 139kg (21st 12 lbs)
CW: 109.6kg (17st 3 lbs)
GW: 100kg (15st 11lbs) third interim goal.

Another 2lbs ish gone this week. I'm getting close to getting under 17 stone which would put me back into territory that I haven't been for years and years. I would love to make my next interim goal by Christmas, we'll see!

WeepingInASunlitRoom · 25/10/2024 14:13

Great news @Lumirubin and good luck!

I'm under 100kg which feels like a great milestone and this morning zipped up a sundress I couldn't get into this summer - I thought by the time I get to wear it next summer it will probably be too big and started browsing winter sun holidays though I absolutely have neither the time or budget to go away just so I can wear a dress I thought I'd never get zipped again!

I'm on a BMI of 36.5, been bouncing up and down around 37 for what feels like ages so I feel really glad to be firmly on 36 and now I'm really focused on getting below 35 as the next target.

Hope everyone else has had a good week!

MounjaroMunchie · 26/10/2024 09:34

Week 17 weigh-in today, with 1.6lb off.

SW - 12st 7.0lb
CW - 10st 10.6lb
GW - 9st (interim)

Total loss so far is 24.4lbs, an average of just under 1.5lbs per week. Currently on my 6th dose of 7.5mg, which seems to be suiting me.

LittleLlama · 26/10/2024 10:06

Congratulations on everyone’s weight loss!

So week 17 completed…and I have managed to lose another 0.4kg, which I am more than happy with considering my week. I think I probably need to up my exercise routine next week, as the colder weather is making me quite lethargic in the evenings.

So progress is

Week 1 - 4
Total loss on 2.5mg = 5.3kg

Week 5 - 13
Total loss on 5.0mg = 5.8kg

Week 14 -17
Total loss on 6.0mg = 1.6kg

Total weight loss = 12.7kg

I have sorted out some clothes this week. I have given a bag to a charity shop, sold a six item bundle on eBay, sold one item on vintage and gave a bag of clothing that was not quite good enough to sell to the clothes bank, so my wardrobe has lost weight too (as I have avoided the temptation to buy any more clothes).

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

KeepinOn · 29/10/2024 09:40

Well, I'm officially in size 14 jeans now! 😱🥳 I was busting out of stretchy size 18s four months ago, so that's pretty damn good going. We went to a party over the weekend and the candid shots of me don't make me feel embarrassed of how I look, which is such a relief.

My blood test results are all normal too, which is an improvement- I had moderately high cholesterol a year ago. I haven't been medicated for it, just kept an eye on it, and now it's back to normal. No thyroid worries, no iron issues, so I suppose the feeling cold is down to MJ side effects and the actuality of losing body fat. Not underweight by any stretch but it still has an impact.

All in all I'm very pleased!

Lumirubin · 30/10/2024 08:19

Well done @KeepinOn !

KeepinOn · 30/10/2024 08:46

That's definitely something to be delighted about, @diian ! Thanks both. :)
