It's in the fridge and I'm going to take the plunge on Monday!
Feeling really nervous about it all. Anyone due to start next week too?

Sorry for being negative but I just feel so unwell on this drug. Nausea, diarrhoea, stomach pains, lightheaded. And the suppressed appetite isn't that much for me. I lost 3 kg in the first week as had terrible diarrhoea but have hovered around the same since.
I think I need to go up in dose for better appetite control but don't think I can take the side effects! It really feels like I'm injecting a toxin each week....

Maybe you should try one of the other types if Mounjaro doesnt seem to suit you? Wegovy or Saxenda? They all work in a similar way but are different drugs and one of the others might suit you more.

Mounjaro (tirzepatide), Wegovy (semaglutide) and Saxenda (liraglutide)

I’ve only had one day of feeling terrible since I started 3 and a bit weeks ago and that was the day I impromptu drank wine with a neighbour! I hear that food choices can prompt side effects too but I think I’ve avoided that issue due to a combo of being a vegetarian and having recently had a surgery that required soft food for a few weeks.

There is no way I would’ve placed a second order if I had felt the way I did on wine day for the whole 3 weeks so I definitely empathise with your conundrum. I felt so bad I almost wondered if Mounjaro could be used to combat bringe drinking as well as binge eating!

Bamboozled5 · 07/08/2024 01:35

@ChaChaChooey thank you - yes I may look at the other medications. Good that you haven't had many bad days except for the anti-booze effect!

Ooh was it easy to do the twist? I've heard mixed reviews

At first it seemed like it wasn't going to twist again, just needed to be firm.

@ToriMJ I've gone with it combined as I don't have any extra needles. I'm not convinced I could do the insulin needle thing!

Snoringdogsfarting · 07/08/2024 07:37

Morning I’ve just ordered from pharmacy2u. I have lost some “naturally” but have found it a real struggle lately and put 1 stone back on! I was, I’m ashamed to say, 19st 10lbs but got down to 15st 3lbs. I’m now 16st 3lbs and am p’d off and need to stop the easy-to-do stuffing my face before I’m all the way back up again. I want to lose a couple of stone, I’m not unrealistic. Looking forward to getting my delivery but scared about the possible side effects💩😩

slummymummy35 · 07/08/2024 08:12

Morning everyone! Jab 4 day today for me, I've lost 12lbs in 4 weeks which I'm thrilled with! Eating really well, been running 3-4 times a week again and just feel so much better. I've even had 2 weekends away during this time and nights out which is amazing

I have a 5mg pen in the fridge ready to go next week (bought a bundle to start) but I'm thinking I'm doing so well on 2.5mg I might just stay on that dose or do 45clicks on the new pen. I'll see how this week goes.
Loving reading everyone's progress!

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 07/08/2024 08:25

Managed to get the scales to move after a frustrating 3 days

69.4!!! Over half my goal ✅

SallySunrise · 07/08/2024 09:27

Of those of you who've gone up to 5mg, how are you finding it?

I'm feeling a little tired and nauseous this morning, though nothing like when I started 2.5mg. However I'm quite hungry, so maybe it's not fully in my system yet.

Bamboozled5 · 07/08/2024 10:44

@ToriMJ Healthily, no snacks or crap! Protein, veggies, and a bit of carb/fat as per the balanced plate instructions on Voy.

I think it's mainly low blood sugar (I take another diabetes med) so the two drugs are just a bit much. I'm trying to follow Voy's instructions on this (quick sugar hit, followed by a balanced snack). It's the first 2-3 days after the injection which are tough, then it gets a bit better! I did lose another 0.5kg this morning.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 07/08/2024 11:02

@Snoringdogsfarting

Welcome. This group
Is lovely.

So far I'm nearly a stone down. About 11lbs.

Start weight 11.7
My goal is 10.4 and I'm currently 10.9

No side effects apart from constipation but it's manageable.

I feel it's starting to show now

Aitchtee · 07/08/2024 11:19

I’m 10lbs down and I don’t think it’s showing but I feel it in my clothes!

SJLOUNJARO · 07/08/2024 11:31

Day 2 after MJ injection strikes again! I know this is due to me having allsorts of bad toxins in my body (alcohol and terrible foods) as I was in a rhythm by 3rd jag however jag 4 day 2 I'm floored feel sick and very fatigued! I will weigh Friday for 4 week update of loss (hopefully!) then going to try use what's left of pen to get back to a Friday injection incase this happens again... love reading everyone's losses and stories all doing so well 🤗

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 07/08/2024 12:08

I always sleep bad day two but tend to loose the most weight day 2-4.

I inj Mondays and gave extra 500 Cals a day on a weekend but dtill try to make good choices and eat less

MyPearlMentor · 07/08/2024 13:04

@HeBeaverandSheBeaver that is an amazing loss, you are smashing it! :-)

@Aitchtee loser clothes feeling is great! I have a dress which I put on every couple of days to see if it fits yet ;-)

MzHz · 07/08/2024 13:17

5mg has arrived, in the fridge - not sure i will do the hard twist, may as well just get going on the 5mg on the Sunday as opposed to the Monday. Looking at travel arrangements I have they are mostly on Tuesdays and MJDay 2 has been hideous. If i push things back this month it throws that day 2 onto dates like holidays and trips away. Time will tell how i go on next level of meds.

MzHz · 07/08/2024 17:02

Down another 5kg - that is 5.5kg since Jab1 - chuffed with that. I think the initial lot may have been water weight, it feels like it's more likely to be weight weight now, not showing yet, but some tops are less tight and one of my swimming costumes (I'm a Masters Squad Swimmer) seems a LOT looser than the last time i wore it.

I think you are wise… did the hard twist & stuck the needle back in, and for the first time I have a huge raised lumpy bruise about 2cm. Bit worried I have injected air or something. It doesn’t hurt but looks grim. I won’t be doing that again! Well done on the fantastic loss…

I'm really tired and struggling with food this week. Hunger not completely suppressed but I can avoid snacks.

I'm so tired and busy with work that making appealing food that's protein rich and calorie deficient is really tricky

Still under 1200 for the day however

Yes, I agree with you - yesterday left home at 5am and got back at 8.30pm. The last 3 weeks made me realise I need to learn to cook some new dishes to feel more inspired for the long term - I would previously batch cook lasagne, tagine etc and eat during the week. I seem to be doing salmon & green veg or chicken & salad daily, it is getting really boring. Also starting to want chocolate again…. Have never done a delivery box so am wondering about trying them as they have low calorie options for a main meal… but I know it is expensive. What I need is a good low calorie cook book to try. Does anyone have a good one to recommend?

ToriMJ · 08/08/2024 07:58

We did hello fresh and gousto for a few months to get out of a rut. You get lots of starter deals so the first few months are cheaper. Then you can keep the recipe cards for another time. It's good if you fancy an easy shake up if what you eat.

slummymummy35 · 08/08/2024 08:02

Simply cook is another good one, you get the various spice pots and flavourings to add to fresh meat and veg along with recipe cards - means it isn't time bound and you only buy fresh stuff when you want to eat it. We were dreadful for not getting through all the hello fresh meals!

ToriMJ · 08/08/2024 08:08

Oh yes we tried them recently, you get a starter box for £1 and it was quite good

Hi all. Been a busy week and was feeling a bit flat so not been online. I’m doing ok, slow and steady and telling myself to be patient.

I’m on week 3 day 5 and finally got a half stone loss. Have had such a busy time with social things so not eating super low cal, probably about 4-500 under TDEE. It’s been good to see that this level still allows for weight loss. And the mental changes remain great, food features so much less in my thoughts! Went to book group last night and as usual there was a huge spread of cheese, dips etc. I had some, then was happily done, and despite the food being there on the table, it didn’t call to me once.

I take the first 5mg on Saturday morning so will update. Been ok with symptoms this month so hoping this continues.
