It's in the fridge and I'm going to take the plunge on Monday!
Feeling really nervous about it all. Anyone due to start next week too?

End of week 2 here...no further loss.

Appetite suppression has been great, I'm probably averaging 1000 calories a day and even then I'm reminding myself to eat. I'm a bit fed up to be honest.

I know I'm not supposed to but i think I'm going to go to 5mg (doses 3 & 4 together) to see how that goes. I want to try 5mg, but don't really want to pay out for the 5mg pen if MJ just doesn't work for me.

I guess one thing to remember is that our bodies can go into starvation mode. Once they realise that the cals being put into the body are consistently low they will hold onto these to sustain you and conserve energy.... just don't ask me how to overcome this lol 🤣

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 30/07/2024 13:36

@gimmemounjaro

It's so frustrating isn't it.
Appetite is very suppressed. I've just had a homemade smoothie and feel full on that. Not been hungry all morning.

Maybe there were more calories in the pub meals than I thought. Despite choosing salad and a tomato based soup. Home now till Thursday night so next two days I'm going to be really strict.

I'm happy to only loose a few pounds a week as long as I'm not starving and weak and the MJ is really helping with that.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 30/07/2024 13:37

@ToriMJ

Well done!!!

MzHz · 30/07/2024 15:00

MJ jab 3 day + 1 day

i feel totally normal- as long as i can keep the good old BM regular, i think it’ll be fine

lost a total of 4kg as of this morning- so not huge amounts, but good for a start!

I spoke to pharmacist and he recommends Fibrogel for gentle encouragement, also prunes/prune or pear juice

got an email from Juniper health care assistant who recommended the same. The pharmacy also offers MJ for about the same prices, but tbh, I really value the support aspect of the service so will stick with it as I’m fairly sure their supply chain will be stronger

TheBiscuitStrikesBack · 30/07/2024 18:15

Week 1, day 7. Appetite suppression has definitely been there this week, completely gone now though. Having to sit on my hands to not go wild eating.

I don’t have scales in the house so unsure what i might have lost... I don’t feel any different! Scales arriving tomorrow..

I am feeling positive about continuing tomorrow though 😊

ToriMJ · 30/07/2024 19:22

Well done on your first week! Early night for you tonight!

Frustrating for those in a stall but could be needing those higher doses as this is just a starter dose. Hopefully you'll feel the benefit more as you go up.

I did jab three today, a day late. I also had a squirt of liquid shoot out like a couple of you did. I stabbed it back in and gave it a good press and wait so hopefully most of it went in Blush

Me too @HeBeaverandSheBeaver

This thread is very supportive but does lead to high expectations when others are posting big losses. I'm not sure how I feel about MJ yet but will definitely try a month on 5mg and try to insulate myself a little from being too unrealistic.

I heard a podcast with a Canadian obesity doctor who uses these drugs amongst other things to treat her patients. One of her top tips was not to think of MJ as a quick fix, "I'll take this for six months and then come off it when I'm sorted" kind of thing (which was exactly what I was thinking lol). She says that for most people obesity is a complex, chronic condition and most will need these drugs long term, because MJ does not address the causes, only the symptom. All the causes of obesity, whether hormonal, physiological, genetic, environmental or psychological, are still there, so weight will inevitably go back on for most people. I don't know how I feel about that either. I have lost several stone before and put it back on (twice), so I guess it would be foolish to think this would be different without staying on the medication.

ToriMJ · 30/07/2024 19:36

I've got my head in the sand on that one!

Yes valid point, but i leaning to watch what im eating, by logging and counting nutrients etc i will learn, im hoping that habits can be broken and new ones Will be formed.

I need to find the better version of myself and be proud enough of her to help her stay that way. ☺️

SallySunrise · 30/07/2024 21:08

Well I completely chickened out of jumping to 5mg. I just kept thinking about those first first days on 2.5.... that was grim.

I'm just going to try and do more exercise. I already walk loads but I think I'll have to hit the gym and lift some weights.

Yes, it's in the habits isn't it.
I'm Hoping that eating less and eating for nutrition will embed rather than mindless snacking of just shit all the time as something to do, much like when I smoked ages ago. I need to find another alternative habit that's much more healthy. Perhaps will get into some sort of exercise once it feels manageable.

I think That's a smart move. If you had another horrible week that would really put you on a downer.
Hopefully this week will be good and you'll finish it on a high

Bit of a stall last week but this week feels different. Clothes fit 😆
Socialising has challenged my choices but making good decisions. Today I forgot lunch. I think my cals today have been 900 and this afternoon I started to fade energy wise

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 30/07/2024 22:03

Well today was easy!

I had a smoothie homemade for lunch
A
Yogurt for snack at 4
Lentil soup and a small

@HeBeaverandSheBeaver You don't eat breakfast? Ever?

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 31/07/2024 03:06

@HundredMilesAnHour

Not often no.

But I've always found it really easy to skip breakfast.

I did the fast diet 13 years ago and I guess I'm ok fasting

gimmemounjaro · 31/07/2024 07:12

I don't usually have breakfast either, never really felt good eating until I've been up and about for a couple of hours. When fasting came along it really suited me.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 31/07/2024 07:50

Down just over half a pound after a few annoying stubborn days

Shape is changing

Do you lose weight in the order you put it on as that seems to be the case.

Aitchtee · 31/07/2024 09:24

2.5 lost today so 6.5 over the first 2 weeks. Happy with that! Going to order my new pen but unsure to go up to the 5 or not? Despite the fact I’m not losing really quickly i am happy with this rate and don’t have any major side effects. Back to work in 2 weeks to a pretty stressful job and so tempted to stay on 2.5….

dogdaydisaster · 31/07/2024 09:27

After a few days of being really constipated things are finally moving 😀 and the scales are moving again. Yesterday was day 4 of week 3 and o felt more snacks than I had done so far, but might have been because I couldn’t manage much at meal times as it was so hot. DH has a bag of those chewy Lidl sweets in the cupboard and I’ve not been at all tempted. I had 3 yesterday and was done- that’s a new feeling! I’d so love to be able to snack like a rational person! DDs way of eating is my goal - she’s always got a clear sense of what she wants to eat, sometimes healthy stuff sometimes junk, and stops when she’s full. It never occurs to her to eat something like sweets or chocolate because it’s in the house.

Don’t feel like eating this morning so might have a grazing day. Scales show 2.9 kg loss since starting so slow and steady, but like a few of us I think slow might be best for me. I’ve a lot to lose so will use the time to work on me and hope some kind of maintenance plan appears in a year’s time.

Wishing you all a good day

Black Market 🫤

I've changed shape and scales indicate a loss this week after nothing last week

You've got to be a bit of a bloody idiot to be buying it like that.

This drug is wild. Four hours after second 2.5ml and the hunger has gone - that is after a crossfit class this AM as well, usually I want to eat the world.

Well done to all for their progress this week.
