It's in the fridge and I'm going to take the plunge on Monday!
Feeling really nervous about it all. Anyone due to start next week too?

Week 2 completed. And after a big boozy day out on Thursday I’m showing a 2.6kg loss. So another 0.4kg this week. I thought I’d be frustrated that I’m not losing faster, but think on reflection that I have a load to learn and have a better chance of this being long-term change if I take time to work in 50+ years of bad habits. Jab no3 done. Let’s go- half stone on the horizon for this week.

Wishthiswasntmypost · 27/07/2024 08:34

Not lost as much this week. To be expected.

Eating very little (not hungry) and not putting on weight....losing some. So this is progress vs eating very little (starving and miserable) and either staying the same or putting on weight.

Medexpress sent note yesterday saying passed to Royal Mail who have said delivery this morning. Am out <sigh>

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 27/07/2024 08:47

It's frustrating when we feel we haven't lost but I find it helps to think of
Household
Items that weigh the same

First week we lose a lot
Of water and then for every kilo lost I like to think of the bag of cat food I buy gone from My body

When I get to 12 kilos that's the Huge bag of dog
Food that I'm no longer walking around with.

The other day i weight a large bottle of ribeana and I've
Lost two of those so far. They are really heavy!!!

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 27/07/2024 09:13

Weighed and not
Lost as predicted. I did eat a full quota yesterday as was out so I'll try hard over weekend and see if I can shift a bit. 3 inj Monday !

LittleLlama · 27/07/2024 09:27

Well done to Everyone for their continued weight loss (big or small it is still progress).

Just finished week 4. My appetite suppression was not as good over the last three days and that made things difficult (wanting to snack in the evening, etc.) I took my bonus dose a day early and will now move up to 5mg. Luckily I didn’t experience any problems using the bonus dose.

I have managed to continue to lose weight.

Week 1 loss 1.6kg
Week 2 loss 1.1kg
Week 3 loss 1.2kg
Week 4 loss 1.4kg
Total loss on 2.5mg = 5.3kg

I am really pleased I have been able to continue this fairly steady weight loss. Although my weight loss has not been noticeable my clothes are more comfortable and I feel good in myself.

In terms of Exercise, I am continuing but sometimes feel totally exhausted part way through. I am, therefore, taking a protein milkshake every morning to help with this. I don’t know how people become addicted to exercise, but that is probably one of the reasons why I gained so much weight - especially over the Covid years.

Good luck for the next week everyone!

Wishthiswasntmypost · 27/07/2024 12:12

First time I've suffered nausea and undoubtedly due to what I had for breakfast. That'll teach me.

Still no parcel and I changed my morning activity to the afternoon to be in for it 😡

I find the lack of control over ordering an item to be delivered on a day and time when you must be in really difficult. It's a lottery when it's dispatched and no communication to enable you to say a better day.

gimmemounjaro · 27/07/2024 16:07

End of week 2 for me and now at -6lbs which is great considering I didn't eat particularly well the first week and was on holiday with extended family last week, eating all sorts including fish and chips / takeaway curry / beer / crisps. So I'm happy with that.

MJ currently doesn't seem to help with making good choices but that's something to work on over the next few weeks and hopefully a slightly higher dose will also help. One thing it has helped with is getting back on the horse after a few days of eating crap - this family trip we've just done is annual and in previous years has knocked me off course for weeks and months, but this time I have shaken it off straight away with no effort.

I am stretching out injections 3 and 4 to 8.5 days so that next delivery will tie in with more hols. MedExpress are already emailing about reordering but I haven't told DH what I'm doing and he will spot anything in the fridge so I need to time deliveries carefully. I'm contemplating buying a mini fridge and hiding it under my desk but that seems a bit OTT as they're not cheap 🙈

Wishthiswasntmypost · 27/07/2024 18:08

I told my husband who is really supportive fortunately.

No parcel. Tracking shows Royal Mail had it at 4pm last night. How long is it safe to not be in a fridge?

Lemonadeintheshade · 27/07/2024 20:28

Well done LittleLlama that’s a great loss over 4 weeks. Thanks for sharing that breakdown. I’m still in week one so really encouraging to see.

dogdaydisaster · 28/07/2024 08:26

I was concerned going out to friends for dinner last night after suffering from over-indulging on Thursday. Ended up having a great night. Friends served courses slowly and in sensible portions. Luckily we all agreed that no one needed the cheese course! I drank slowly and with loads of water and had a pint of water with half an electrolyte tablet before bed. Feel fine this morning- so clearly as long as I pay attention, I can enjoy a night out- phew!

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 28/07/2024 09:43

Another half a kilo gone. Was starving last night at 3 was
Tempted to get a banana but pushed through.

Also managed a BM this
Morning after 3 days. Took a senakot last Night and that Moved Things along.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 28/07/2024 09:43

Only a pound left to get to under 11 stone!!!

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 28/07/2024 09:54

I just converted my Kiki loss into pounds and it's 9lbs. In 13 days. That's crazy!

In my old diet ways I'd have lost
Maybe 3 lb and be starving and unhappy the
Whole time.

It’ll be ice packed @Wishthiswasntmypost and it is fine for a month outside a fridge as long as it’s under 30c

HundredMilesAnHour · 28/07/2024 10:41

End of week 2 for me too. I've lost 3.1kg so far.

I'm not tracking calories like some of you are but I used to be a gym/fitness addict (before long Covid screwed my life up - and all the weight went on) so have a pretty good idea of what I should and shouldn't be eating / drinking.

I have egg on toast for breakfast every morning (whether I want to or not! Partly because I have some pets who want egg on toast for breakfast too 😜 and partly because this is the breakfast I always have before doing weights in the gym, and I want to get back to lifting in a month or two).

Side effects haven't been too bad. The first few days after each dose leave me absolutely exhausted (which is an issue as I already have chronic fatigue) and in week 2 my mood was very low. But I have a stressful job that is particularly challenging at the moment, and I also have ADHD but I'm mostly unmedicated currently due to the methylphenidate shortage so it's hard to know what is down to MJ and what is just life. 😕I'm not feeling much appetite suppression yet but paying so much money for MJ has focussed my attention on not self-sabotaging by binge-eating when I'm spending so much money to try and prevent it.

Overall, I'm happy so far. I'm with Voy and despite their higher cost, I'll continue with them for my second month. I take various medications (anti-depressants, HRT, ADHD meds, asthma meds) so it's useful to know that I have Voy's experts available if I have any concerns.

MzHz · 28/07/2024 10:49

@LittleLlama well done! Fabulous loss. Could you explain about the bonus dose? I thought there were 4 doses, plus a bit extra for priming etc per pen?

@HeBeaverandSheBeaver im down a bit today too, I also am fairly constipated so took senakot last night and the relief is great. I’d got myself into a really reliable routine (which is made a lot less easy by the iron pills I take for mild anaemia) I’m drinking almost 3l a day and even that’s not resolving it, so I’ll manage it with the senakot I think. Then at least I can weigh myself regularly and reliably, and feel better generally.

I’m down 3.5kg, jab 3 tomorrow. Need to measure waist again. I’d lost 2” already last week.

Jfw82 · 28/07/2024 13:43

I'm partway into week 2 but have decided im going to stick to 2.5 for next pen - im going on holiday and if I went up to 5 I'd be taking it on holiday for first two jabs. I've not had bad side effects so far and don't want to risk it moving up when on hols. Hopefully it won't slow me down too much but feels the right decision

SJLOUNJARO · 28/07/2024 21:46

Day14 Heart burn all day today. Good suppression. Low mood very tired and generally rubbish feeling. Time of month not helping matters!

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 28/07/2024 22:19

Stomach ache tonight. Still a bit constripated. Feel like I'm a bit clogged up. Inj 3 tomz

Andywarholswig · 29/07/2024 07:19

Morning team, have had a bit of manic week, have DHs entire family staying with me for a month, so it’s a little bit busy BUT I am down another 2.6kg on weigh day and am starting to feel more comfortable in my clothes (my bra was soooo tight before).
Off to do week 3 jab- have definitely noticed less appetite suppression in the last few days but still less food noise which is an amazing feeling.

Wishthiswasntmypost · 29/07/2024 07:58

Not a great week for losing...0.6kg =1lb

I lost 4kg last week so am thinking of ignoring the last week. Diet same or less calories so no idea why I haven't lost weight. Tbh even without MJ I'd have expected to lose 2lbs but it would have been much harder work as I'd have been famished all week.

Monkeyseesmonkeydoesn · 29/07/2024 08:52

Second weigh in and I'm +1lb.

Think I took my foot off a bit and so will try a bit harder this week!

Thats 4.6kg/10lbs in two weeks though. Overall, that’s a massive loss for a fortnight. You should feel good about that! Please don’t feel disheartened. Weight loss should generally be around 1-2lbs a week to be healthy and sustainable.

What’s your start weight and goal weight? I found it motivating to make a table of start weight and projected weights if I lose 1.5lbs a week, so I can see what my weight will hopefully be by e.g. my birthday, Christmas.

SJLOUNJARO · 29/07/2024 12:27

Am I the only one (until today) that's not had diarrhoea??? I am now on day 15 and it has hit me. Is this part of the process. Help. Haven't been constipated as such until now but never regular or easy either like prior to MJ really feeling the side effects since injection number 3! Well done everyone on losses maybe not as much as some would like but IMO we are all doing better than before MJ?

gimmemounjaro · 29/07/2024 13:11

I haven't had diarrhoea (yet) 😬
Currently on day 17.
But then again I haven't had the super suppression or losses that some people have on 2.5mg so maybe it'll happen on 5mg.
