Starting mounjaro 15th July, anyone else?

It's in the fridge and I'm going to take the plunge on Monday!
Feeling really nervous about it all. Anyone due to start next week too?

All I've had is a
Breakfast small flapjack/coffee
Lunch one piece sushi stolen from dd lol
One small glass rose as went for a drink with friends
Dinner will be ribs with small portion fries 3 onion rings and a salad.

How many cals you think? Maybe 1200/1300

I'm not even hungry and I'm 6 days in 2nd inj Monday

I've bought the nutra check app, it's really good for monitoring diet and exercise etc you can set personal goals for things like protein

i've just done my first official weigh-in .... was feeling downhearted as last-night I weighed myself and appeared to have put on (!) but then had lost heaps overnight :-) I'm determined not to get hung up on the numbers though ... after years of SW, I need to focus on health rather than pure weight. But I get I need to keep track to understand if I want to move up dosage.
Anyway, lost 2.9 kgs which I'm pleased with. I can't make up my mind how much of what I'm (not) eating is conscious i.e. I'm paying for this so I'm not wasting my money ... or is the injection doing its thing! Either way, I'm eating way less in volume, and in calories - not that I'm tracking exact calories yet.

Glad to hear so many others with positive stories!

It's absolutely brilliant isn't it?! I'm like the rest of you, it's like the urge to eat rubbish has been switched off! We have some friends and family over for a BBQ and I've not even touched the crisps and dips or garlic bread! Normally my tummy is sore because I overeat on the nibbles and breads 🙈
Having a very small G&T and it has lasted me 2 hours! Wild

I've not had any alcohol since my first injection. I do fancy it but not enough to have it in case it impacts in side effects or weight loss. Really looking forward to Monday weigh in. I can feel the difference already. Its probably not obvious to others but my clothes are more comfortable. I'm so so glad

I'd asked my pharmacist about alcohol as i do have a couple of weddings / events this summer I'd normally drink at ..... she said 'a couple" of drinks is likely fine for most people (calories aside), but if I was thinking of having a "big night. out" to consider postponing that week's injection (which would work for me, I'm injecting Thursday night - so could skip to say Sunday).

Hello 👋 - did first jab yesterday. Not had any obvious side effects except some hot flushes and weird dreams!!

Very unlike me, I had no snack cravings today and felt full up on only half a small meal this evening. About 1100 in all! Hope this continues!

Just took my 2nd jab and when I took pen away some squirted out! Can I do it wrong what if I didn't get in properly 😭 has this happened with anyone else?? I suppose I'll know tomorrow if I'm starving!!!

My instructions say leave needle in for a while. Sounds like the liquid didn't quite finish in your skin before you withdrew. Withdrawal method but not what you wanted 🙁

I did my 2nd one yesterday - didn't see it squirt but injected into my thigh and it was wet afterwards, so I think I've done the same as you.
So far it's working fine, even better than week 1 actually.

@gimmemounjaro this is good to know thank you! How's it working better? Also - I read about doing in thigh but was put off as a lot said they didn't get as much suppression. Think iv defo done it too fast will know for next time and might try thigh!

The weird dreams seem to be common I am happy to take them if I lose weight 😅

I've done thigh both times, I think I read somewhere it gets absorbed slower so fewer side effects.

So it's only really been today but last week I was feeling full but still thinking about food a lot and a couple of times I overate even though I was full, still a bit out of control. Today I forgot about food completely and didn't remember to eat until 3pm which is just mind boggling to me. I have heard people say they forget to eat and never believed it but it happened to me today. I am also having slight side effects today, bit of a gurgly rumbly tummy and a little bit of cramping. Nothing terrible and no nausea. I'm pretty sure the drug is in there and working though.

@gimmemounjaro that's brilliant and what you want! I'll do thigh next time you've convinced me. I be doing it in a few days if I don't think this has worked btw 🫠

I was really sceptical whether it would work so quick. Did my first jab Thursday, Friday I didn't have much of an appetite but thought this was all in my mind. Usually if I hardly eat the day before I'm starving the next day, but yesterday was the same - skipped breakfast, had an early lunch went off of half way through eating so left it, protein shake early afternoon as realised I needed something to keep me going, then 1/4 chicken and half a rainbow coleslaw (as couldn't finish it) from nandos for dinner. Then realised I'd only had 800 cals all day so had to force down some rice cakes before bed.

I do worry my body will go into starvation mode and start holding onto the cals in my body 🫣😳

Can I ask if it hurts?

I have injected twice - first time didn't feel it at all, second time felt a bit of a sting as I took it out (probably because I had it at an angle or something). So not really, no. Even if you are cackhanded like me it hurts less than eg pulling out a hair.
