It's in the fridge and I'm going to take the plunge on Monday!
Feeling really nervous about it all. Anyone due to start next week too?

So onto day 4 - I am definitely hungry at meal times and happy to eat but also feel…satisfied - it’s a really new sensation, I am super greedy and could (did) eat for Britain. And the urge to snack and keep eating is definitely dampened.

I am eating between 1000- 1500 calories a day (am very tall) and usually my stomach would be rumbling and I’d feel quite tired and shaky but I feel fine. I am very very thirsty- I drink lots of water anyway but this is another level. I have also broken out the herbal teas which I’m really enjoying. In fact I am really enjoying all my food, everything tastes great and I am sleeping so deeply, after months of really awful sleep I have done 3 solid 8 hours. Apart from feeling tired I’ve had no side effects whatsoever (yet…)

I’ve decided to only weight myself on Mondays but my bra strap feels less tight today (random but good!)

Edited

Yes, I'm a bit hungry for meals but satisfied with a small meal and no junk. Not feeling like "ooh I'll grab some crisps to go with that"

Just putting this here if anyone wants to use it. I think they work out pretty cheap with the discount.

Day 4 and feeling positive, I weighed today and after 3 full days I'm down 3.5 pounds which would take me at least a couple of weeks (or more) on slimming world and be back on if I had a week where I lost focus.
I'm almost daring to feel hope to really lose weight this time. It's been a battle forever!

How's everyone getting on? I think the appetite suppression has already hit me and I only injected yesterday afternoon. Not sure if I'm overthinking but I didn't feel hungry for breakfast and just made myself some lunch and only ate half of it! I enjoyed it and feel full and have put the rest away for dinner. This is bonkers. 🙂

ToriMJ · 18/07/2024 13:25

It's taken me til today to be convinced that it's the mj causing suppression and not just a placebo. I've had a tiny lunch and feel stuffed.

I’m the same @slummymummy35 just injected yesterday and feeling the effects already. Just lost interest really is the only way I can describe it. When I’ve started diets before I’ve thought about food the whole day!

MyPearlMentor · 18/07/2024 13:28

For people who have commented on the psychology of how, when, why we overeat, I had a helpful discussion with the nutritionist who comes as part of my package. I have been in a cycle of diet/weight loss/regain for about 4 years and shared the same as other posters I have seen here. She advised to try and see this as a long term change, not a “diet” and to try making changes which feel realistic to sustain. Instead of thinking about foods as good/bad to think of them as have a lot/only have a little. Also to consciously note when tend to make sabotaging choices (is it a time of day, a stressful colleague, kids etc) and have a distraction ready. Mine is the evening, wine & cheese after dinner - so going to try and replace that with a walk. I really am hoping the meds will
help break these habits so I’m going to try hard, and if you get anything like this with your provider I would suggest giving it a try. I was a bit skeptical as I thought it might be a lecture on lettuce but was quite good! Enjoying seeing all your updates, keep going! Xx

@mypearlmentor who are you with? That's excellent service. Evenings are tricky for me because I want snacks. WAH mornings are tricky because toast comforts me through a tedious day...similarly lunches at home. Food too available. Before covid I was just overweight. Covid changed my behaviour enormously. I felt out of control.

Jfw82 · 18/07/2024 15:13

Just done first injection eeek! Going on holiday 3 weeks on Saturday so a few lbs lost before then would be good .... but it's the longer term that's more important I know - good luck everyone !

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 18/07/2024 15:31

I’m a little ahead of many of many of you and started on 19/6 so mainly post in the June thread. For anyone interested, I took my bonus dose last night and weighed in this morning 16lbs down from 4 weeks ago!

I am with Voy, who are a subscription service so you never need to worry about reordering and you can choose a weight loss coach of your choice who you can talk to via video call or WhatsApp. I have a code to give you £85 off your first pen (and me a discount off my next one!). DM me if you would like it.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 18/07/2024 15:32

@Jfw82 I lost a stone in my first three weeks! Have a fabulous holiday!

Toad1986 · 18/07/2024 15:39

I've just finished my first week and I've lost 4lb. Is that good?

Mine is via Chequp. They assign you a nutritionist, it’s super easy to book online. And yes, I totally relate to your challenges above. It was also Covid lockdown that pushed me from a 12-14 up to a 16-18 and now rising… Like you, I feel I need to take control back before I create myself a bunch of weight associated health problems!

Yes, because the first 4 doses of 2.5mg aren't intended to produce weight loss but to get your body used to the drug. But, many people do seem to get some weight loss, if the appetite suppression comes on quickly.

MzHz · 18/07/2024 15:55

Day 4 for me too, Scales tell me I am down 1.8kg.

I've eaten decent breakfast and decent lunch today as I am off swimming later and that is brutal so won't be eating anything before or after. Might have my ritual protein shake with almond milk when I get back.

Calorie tracking - I found a good enough little app called HitMeal, premium version costs £17 PER YEAR, so thought, yeah. let's have it. it tracks activities from phone, you can bar scan foods to log them and you can see and set your target. The health coach said to me to go for 1700 kcal a day, I am nowhere near that. Training tonight will burn a good 700 kcal

What's the saying ... eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper. This is what seems to work best for me. If I eat light at the end of the day but need more protein, i can always shave a protein shake or a yoghurt

Andywarholswig · 18/07/2024 16:15

@Jfw82 im also going on holiday in about 3 weeks, what are you doing - are you continuing or are you stopping and restarting? I don’t have a choice as I’m doing a road trip and no fridge (also the small matter of me hiding it from everyone..) so I think I’ll have to pause and then restart when I get back

I don't think you need a fridge once the pen has been opened and used once, if that's helpful? The instructions with mine say that anyway. Need a fridge between delivery and first use though.

I'm using nutra check it's a great app, so easy to find everything.

I totally agree, eating late I think is a chore for digestion. Shame we get the munchies when watching tv!

I've also got a trip with no fridge coming up (camping)! I checked with my Voy coach and it's fine to skip a week, as long as you don't skip 3, otherwise you have to start again.
