Great going @CrazyKats always good to pull something out of the wardrobe of smaller sizes we all have stashed away!

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 20/08/2024 09:12

I've reached 5st loss this morning. That's 31.6% of my body weight gone 🎉.

Weight loss picked up again this week after a stall so I'm really happy to reach this target. Still have almost a stone to go to bmi 25 and I'm still fat so could stand to lose a bit more - I probably won't go much below 25 though as size 12 would be small enough for me to be happy with.

Do you mind if I ask about loose skin? I've had two large (4kg+) babies within three years of each other so no expecting miracles and some element of stretching anyway. Just wondering how your body adapted?

LastTimeLosingIt · 20/08/2024 11:06

@PissedOffNeighbour22 congrats! Amazing. I'm also interested in how long that took (as I'd rather like five stone weight loss by next week please Grin

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 20/08/2024 12:14

Thank you @StormsAreNeverNamedAfterMe (love that name) and @Luvvies ☺️

@LastTimeLosingIt sadly it took longer than a week 😂. It will be 6 months this week since I started. 3st within 3 months and then 3 months to lose the following 2st. Can't believe it's been 6 months though, doesn't feel that long.

@CrazyKats I have less than 2yrs between my kids and I was massive the second time so I was really worried about loose skin - probably my top worry. I'm also 40 so my skin has lost elasticity anyway. I'm pleasantly surprised just how well my body has responded. I genuinely thought I'd have a huge saggy apron of fat swinging around; especially as the weight came off so fast at the beginning.

My bingo wings look fairly loose but my arms have always looked awful. The last stone has made the insides of my thighs a bit loose but hopefully they'll tone up with time. I still have an apron overhang stomach but it's much smaller than I thought it would be and fairly easy to hide. What is most noticeable is the area just above my belly button sticks out quite a lot as I knackered all my muscles during my second pregnancy. My stretch marks are worse than I thought they would be as they are so deep and wide. My stomach looks a bit like a woven basket 🫣😄.
It absolutely doesn't look like the photos you see in magazines where people have lost loads and need a tummy tuck/other surgeries.

CrystaltipsnoAlistair · 20/08/2024 17:47

Congratulations 🎉 @PissedOffNeighbour22 fabulous loss. Well done 👏

oreo2024 · 21/08/2024 09:00

Well done ladies!
I was on holiday so did not 'check-in' here, though I have continued with MJ during holiday. 7.5mg really kicked in, I can only handle small portions now. In short, MJ has been a miracle drug to me.

Start: 17th May
SW: 108.3kg
CW: 95.8kg

Already feeling so much lighter and this is such a a blessing!

This is amazing, well done! Bang on 100 today - it's teasing me with double figures literally just in sight 🤣

2024christmas · 21/08/2024 09:28

I've been off my feet pretty much following an injury in July so my weight losses are definitely slower than they were but I am currently aiming to maintain/baby steps loose during this period I entered hospital 207lb it am now down to 202lb which I am happy with tbh as usually it would have been takeaway after takeaway and bordum eating which I'm not doing

SilverSprings510 · 21/08/2024 21:42

Following - started today. I have a lot to lose. Currently the biggest I’ve ever been, after having a baby in October. I can definitely feel the weight - I never could before, even though I’ve always been overweight to some extent. I need to get healthy so I can play with my DC. Also going to start couch to 5k when I’m back in work, as we have a treadmill there, and I’m not ready for people to see me running 😬

gimmemounjaro · 21/08/2024 22:35

I have just started couch to 5k and can't bear to run in public either - I get up really early so I can get back before 0630 🤦‍♀️

Not sure how long I'll last, I was very reluctant this morning and it wasn't even cold or raining 😬
I find running quite hard and quite boring but I do feel great afterwards and surely it must be doing me good. I'm doing it super gently as I have had injuries in the past, so plan to do a lot of weeks twice before moving on.

PonyPatter44 · 21/08/2024 23:12

I wish I could run. I've got some sort of weird mental block when it comes to running - I'm straining for breath within moments and just can't manage it. I can row, or use the cross trainer, or even cycle for ages, and I'll walk all day, but I can't run. So I am very impressed with all of you runners!

I'm so close to my first mini-target

SW - 118kg
CW - 91kg

1st GW - 90kg.

I'm nearly there. I'm doing another month on 12.5mg rather than moving up to 15mg. I'll be under 90kg by the end of August, and then my Goal Weight will re-set to 75kg.

gimmemounjaro · 22/08/2024 06:39

Wow those are impressive numbers @PonyPatter44 👏👏

Have you spent more than four weeks on any of the doses or have you found you needed to go up after one pen every time?

BingoWingsOverScotland · 22/08/2024 17:21

So I gave myself my first jag on Sunday night, and I think I'm slowly noticing a small difference in my appetite. Today I had breakfast around half-ten, about half of what I'd normally have, which is yoghurt, berries, nuts and seeds, and then wasn't hungry again until about 3.30 when I had some cottage cheese. I'm planning a veggie omelet for dinner. Does that sound OK?

I am SO COLD though. It's really like autumn already. I don't know if that's the mounjaro or the weather, probably a combination.

WeAllHaveWings · 22/08/2024 18:46

It is chilly in Scotland today! 🥶 I've got my winter woolies out and it's only august!

I had a couple of days I've felt really cold but they are always when I hadn't eaten enough.

CatTraveler · 23/08/2024 08:09

6 weeks in and just done my third 5mg this morning.

The supression was there most of the week but yesterday I did need will power as well!! I dont mind having to use will power as I know I will need that in the future when I finish.

I did have very bad constipation at the start of the "injection week" and TBH tablets didnt seem to help. I am going to be focused on fibre (all bran for breakfast every day!) and lots of water this week to try and stop it happening again.

1.1kg down this week.

SW - 134.7 kg (BMI 49.5)
CW - 125.4kg (BMI 46.1)
GW - 80kg (BMI 29.4)

Total loss 9.3kg (6.9% of SW)

NewoIkkin · 23/08/2024 08:20

3.9lbs loss this week which I’m extremely happy with as I was at a festival for four days drinking cider and eating chips! I ate and drank loads less than I would otherwise have done though, and did a ridiculous amount of walking. I’m down 15kg/33lbs total now and have decided to do another four weeks on 5mg as the suppression has been good and the side effects mild.

On a very sedentary holiday this coming week so anticipating a slight gain, which I’m absolutely fine with.

WeAllHaveWings · 23/08/2024 08:43

Congratulations on your Friday losses, a good way to start the weekend!

Saw this on another page......elbows. Someone commented on how smooth their elbows were. Mine are usually very rough and dry, they are sooooo smooth now! Keep touching them 🤣 I would never have noticed unless someone mentioned. Probably all the water, or maybe the vitamins.

Weigh in day for me tomorrow.

Eminybob · 23/08/2024 09:43

Had a bit of a stall this week probably too much wine as celebrated finishing work for 2 weeks! Just over 3lb to go until I hit my first mini goal of 12 stone. I was hoping to get there before I go on holiday on Sunday but that now seems unlikely!
Still, I tried on my new swimming costumes and holiday clothes last night in preparation for packing and I felt bloody fabulous! Considering last time I went abroad I was pushing 16 stone, I feel practically like a supermodel now 🤣
It really is amazing what weight loss can do for your confidence and self esteem isn't it?

BingoWingsOverScotland · 23/08/2024 09:54

Congratulations @Eminybob ! All these success stories are really motivating for people like me who are only at the start of this journey.

I'm really looking forward to "shopping my wardrobe" when I shrink a bit - I will have to be quite disciplined about binning the stuff that is too big (if and when that miracle happens!). I have so many lovely things that I'm too fat for at present.

Eminybob · 23/08/2024 10:06

Thanks @BingoWingsOverScotland

I had only recently bought some really lovely dresses before I started losing weight, so I confess I have put them up in the loft rather than get rid. It's a stupid mindset really, I'm so used to putting weight back on after losses that it's probably a self fulfilling prophecy. Not this time! Maybe I will bring them down and put them on vinted.

What I am gutted about is getting rid of all the lovely things I had from when I have been slimmer previously. I keep thinking, oh that might fit me now, and looking for it before realising I have got rid 😪

WeAllHaveWings · 23/08/2024 10:13

For those with lovely clothes or favourite dresses that are good quality, if they are only a size or two too big, have you thought about trying a local seamstress. Might be cheaper than buying new if you love the style!

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 23/08/2024 10:36

Any one else feeling like its just not working as well for them? Did my 3rd 5mg jab on Wednesday and I've lost 7.5kg in 6 weeks. I'm still feeling some hunger too which I really thought would have been properly suppressed by now.

DH keeps pointing out that it's a healthy loss, but when you have so much to lose it's just a bit deflating when other people have lost so much more in the same space of time!

Darlinghag · 23/08/2024 10:40

Hi everyone, new starter here!

i took my first dose of Mj on Sunday after three years of calorie deficit and losing regaining the same stone after an initial two stone loss.

My original starting weight 3 years ago was 21st dead on, a week before Mounjaro I was at 18st 6. The weekend before taking the jab I was off plan quite significantly and went up to 19st - which I know is mostly water weight but I have managed to come back down to 18st 5.8 this morning!

Looking forward to the real losses in the coming weeks.

I’m also keen to see how mj works for my post gallbladder removal digestive issues. So far it feels better, although not perfect at this dose.

i’ve also heard that its helpful for pcos so looking forward to that!

Best thing ever when you fit into something you have languishing in the wardrobe. I have a cream and brown dotty jumpsuit I want to wear in abroad mid Oct 🙏

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 23/08/2024 14:28

@BingoWingsOverScotland feeling cold is a common effect. It’s to do with the way the drug acts on the hypothalamus.

I’m on holiday in Greece this week and have really loved being able to enjoy the wonderful food in sensible portions. I overdid it one evening and paid for it the next day with sulphur burps and diarrhoea so that was a lesson learned 🤢. I have definitely caused some offence in several restaurants by not being able to finish the very generous portions! I weighed in on Sunday before leaving and had lost 2lb, which FINALLY brings my BMI to 34.9 and (just) into the merely ‘obese’ category 🥳
