@WeAllHaveWings just a word of warning on the Zoe app - it is slightly dubious as I understand it? https://www.theguardian.com/science/article/2024/may/18/zoe-nutrition-app-diet-tim-spector-wellness-science

I'm not personally going to spend my hard-earned on it just yet, but no judgement from me for those who do, obviously!

WoolyMammoth55 · 07/08/2024 16:46

I lost 10% of my starting weight this week: SW 130kg, CW 117kg. I'd obviously like to get down to somewhere between 80 and 75kg in a perfect world so PLENTY more to go... but it feels amazing and do-able with this medicine, for the first time ever!

I'm imagining that I'll lose half a stone a month for the next year and get to goal weight next summer... That would be incredible! Fingers and toes crossed.

Tirzepatide · 07/08/2024 17:07

@WeAllHaveWings - yes our spreadsheets are similar! I've got more columns but hid them for the snapshot...I'm sure you won't be surprised at that!

I don't recommend ZOE either. I was doing much better in the month before I started ZOE just listening to the odd podcast and taking on board the glucose goddess advice. It was fairly interesting to get my results (although months later they changed - gut biome was excellent got downgraded to good) but really I found it quite generic. They over-complicated it and then dumbed it down again in an almost patronising way with the lessons (which I never finished as it all had to be done on a phone app - rather than the desktop, which was irritating).

Support was 'AI' (aka a basic annoying database of standard responses) and if you actually wanted individual support it was infuriating to find an option that got you through to someone - who invariably didn't answer the question, although they tried. I signed up for a year too! I've got about two weeks left I think. Waste of money. I know three people in 'real life' who tried it in addition to me - didn't help any of us. The information that is useful/helpful is freely available to everyone.

omega4ever · 07/08/2024 17:24

@WoolyMammoth55 fantastic progress! Brilliant milestone to hit.

omega4ever · 07/08/2024 17:27

I've been put off signing up to Zoe too by a friend's experiences.

I like listening to the free podcasts but take the messages from there and use or adapt to fit me and family.

KeepingUndercover · 07/08/2024 17:46

I tried Zoe, didn't do a long subscription or anything though. It was sort of interesting doing it but I'm really not sure about it looking back. I'm just quite sceptical now about whether the continuous glucose monitor is actually useful for someone who isn't diabetic, whether it does really tell you anything about anything. The findings you get do some pretty basic, well known nutrition advice too. I could think of better things to spend money on really.

WeAllHaveWings · 07/08/2024 19:03

Thanks all, you've convinced me to give Zoe a swerve ❤️

KeepingUndercover · 07/08/2024 22:59

I injected today and before dinner I was feeling really hungry and thought I was going to eat a big dinner. Then I took one mouthful and was very "oh no, this was a mistake". My brain hunger and stomach hunger sometimes really don't match.

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 08/08/2024 08:22

First 5mg dose last night and i've woken up exhausted (not helped by toddler DS being awake 12.30 - 2.30am either!). I remember feeling like this after my first 2.5mg dose so fingers crossed its a good sign.

oreo2024 · 08/08/2024 09:27

Good morning fellow (weight) losers :) I have been quiet for a while - life got in the way and my weight is coming off slower than most of you, but still a progress. I started mid-May.
SW 108.3kg
CW 96.5kg
GW - probably around 75kg - this puts me at BMI of 26.0 - I have not been that weight for 20 years, so it's hard to even imagine.

I have not had any side effects except from fatigue, but then food suppression has not been that terrific. I still get hungry and think of food, just cannot eat as much.

I am going for a family visit for a couple of weeks, and will be taking my pen with me. I am scared to tell my mum (she will find the pen in the fridge) but I'd better be honest with her than have a MJ break.

To throw a spanner into things, I have a surgery scheduled and will have to come off MJ 2-3 weeks beforehand, and then will be bed bound for 2-4 weeks. That's a bummer, but with 11% of my SW already lost I can only be grateful. In the essence, I've got to accept that is life and if I can learn to manage through it, I shall be fine in the end.

Good luck my lovely losers!

dontstopmenow · 08/08/2024 11:56

Morning all, lovely news from a lot of us with great results.
I had a little break in my 5mg doses - I was 5 days late injecting as I didn’t want to take my pen etc on holidays. As a result it seems to be taking ages to kick in - I am starving today!!
Im just trying to focus on healthy eating as I keep telling myself this is what I will need to be doing every day when I get to goal weight. I was away a week all inclusive and put on just under a kg so I’m taking that as a win as I can put on a lot of weight in a week if I put my mind to it! Current weight 144kg, down from 150kg start weight.
Im really looking forward to nav like less puffy ankles!!

WeAllHaveWings · 08/08/2024 12:18

Hope you had a lovely break @dontstopmenow

Have you seen the GLP-1 plotter site? It shows how quickly your concentration will drop in the 5 days missed, and it will take a couple of weeks to get back up to the full 5mg levels.

But I bet it was worth it to enjoy your holiday fully!

@Tirzepatide @WeAllHaveWings I LOVE your spreadsheets!!! 😍 Any chance you could post your formulae please and that can be my weekend project? 😁

dontstopmenow · 08/08/2024 12:19

I haven’t seen that! I wish I had taken the pen with me now!! Thank you!

@Tirzepatide @WeAllHaveWings I LOVE your spreadsheets!!! 😍 Any chance you could post your formulae please and that can be my weekend project? 😁

Changed the multiplication * to x as MN changes it to bolding!

Total lbs
=(H2 x 14)+I2

H2 = stones, I2 = lbs

KG
=CONVERT(J2,"lbm","kg")

J2 = total lbs calculated above

BMI
=K2/$AK$33^2

K2 = weight in kgs from above
AK33 = height in metres e.g. 1.78

TDEE
=((10 x K2)+(6.25 x $AK$33 x 100)-(5 x $AL$33)-161) x $AM$33

As above plus....
AL33 = age in years
AM33 = TDEE activity factor

%Loss
=(M3+N3)/$J$2

M3+N3 = total loss (previous + this week)
J2 = starting weight
Cell formatted as %

Hope that makes sense!

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 08/08/2024 12:58

Total sense and huge thanks! Will create my own thing of great beauty later 😁

WeAllHaveWings · 08/08/2024 13:04

Look forward to seeing it! You will go down a rabbit hole with Graphs too! 😂

Tirzepatide · 08/08/2024 13:38

Thanks for sharing the GLP1 plotter site @WeAllHaveWings ! It is fab! It has proved very useful in helping me decided a dose for tomorrow's injection! I've decided to go back down to 2.5 mg again. I've 'lost' 5.8 lbs in 6 days this week on 4.6 mg due to the diarrhoea - not good.

Happy spreadsheeting @IReallyNeedThisToWork ! 😁I think @WeAllHaveWings has already covered the formulas 💚!

NewoIkkin · 09/08/2024 08:20

Friday weigh-in and I’ve lost 3.3lbs. That’s 22.4lbs in the six weeks I’ve been on MJ (plus 5lbs from calorie counting the week before). I don't anticipate losing much for the rest of the month though as I’m off to a festival then only home for a day or two before I’m on holiday again!

Milestones this week:

  • 25lbs down - a quarter of the way to my goal!
  • Finally under 15 stone.

Feeling pretty good on 5mg, but should probably be eating a bit more. I’m struggling to hit 1000 calories a day at the moment.

Hope everyone has had a good week!

CatTraveler · 09/08/2024 08:40

Week 4 done and just injected my first 5mg

I am not worried about the lack of loss this week, I am really constipated at the moment (a side effect of painkillers I think not mj), my checky midweek weigh in had me 0.5kg lower than I am at the moment.

SW - 134.7 kg (BMI 49.5)
CW - 129.1kg (BMI 47.5)
GW - 80kg (BMI 29.4)

Loss 5.6kg (4.1% of SW)

I know its going to be a long road and I didnt expect to have the loses some of you seem to have had all the time - however I am happy that my weight is going downward..

BemusedBrenda · 09/08/2024 08:45

Very pleased to see I'm not the only one with a tracking spreadsheet 😆I've just had jab #7, which is my third on 5mg (didn't take the bonus dose of 2.5 as I wanted to move up straight away).

SW 227lbs (15st11)
CW 200lbs (14st4)

BMI now overweight rather than obese!!

It feels like very quick weight loss it me compared to any time I've dieted in the past, and I'm lucky I don't really experience any side effects (only feeling cold on jab day). I'm debating whether to stay on 5mg in a couple of weeks rather than go up to 7.5 as it is working so well for me. The main benefit is I just don't think about food between meals so I never snack or eat "treats" - I really hope I can continue that habit into maintenance because I think it will be key for me not to regain after eventually stopping MJ.

I've still not noticed much change in myself yet as the weight seems to have come off "all over" at the same time and I've definitely not gone down a dress size yet. I was at the top end of a 16 when I started (probably an 18 in denial) and I'm still in my 16s. They are looser but I'm not in my 14s yet. I'm aiming to lose at least another 40lbs and hopefully that will see me in a comfortable 12.

Tirzepatide · 09/08/2024 10:03

@BemusedBrenda 😁💚about the spreadsheet
Many congratulations on making it to overweight - major milestone!
I would stick with 5 mg if it is working well for you. I went up a sub-dose this week (when the previous one was definitely working well for me)...and I regret it now! Definitely not doing that again.

I pleased to report my weight has gone up 1.35 kg today (after doing down 1.45 kg yesterday!) and I think I am on the mend (ready for next dose this evening - fingers crossed that it won't start it again with the lower dose). Still leaves me with a 1.3 kg loss this week (with one day to go).

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 09/08/2024 16:39

I am seriously impressed with the various spreadsheets!

Weird and slightly annoying NSV: my face has slimmed down so much that my glasses are too big, and I'm going to have to take them in to the opticians to get them adjusted.

Happy Friday! Injection Number 6 this morning - First 5mg dose. Weigh-in Number 5:

Start weight: 15 st 8 lbs (BMI = 37.2)
Current weight: 14 st 6 lbs
Goal weight: 9 st 0 lbs (BMI = 21.5)
Week 1 Loss = 6 lbs
Week 2 Loss = 5 lbs
Week 3 Loss = 3 lbs
Week 4 Loss = 0 lbs
Week 5 Loss = 2 lbs

16 lbs gone in total over five weeks, which is 5.5% of my starting weight. I'm looking forward to getting to the 13s.

No reactions to this morning's jab yet...fingers crossed it stays that way.

Apparently the ‘Wegovy/Mounjaro’ face is a thing if you google it. The weight went from my face very quickly but I now have lines from my nose to my mouth. Worth it to be lighter but more noticeable than when I have previously lost a lot of weight. My glasses still fit at the moment!
