Well done on your loss @MorphandMindy and good luck on life after Wegovy!

DontUseYourNose · 05/04/2024 15:58

It's impossible to get ozempic here. All pharmacies holding it for diabetic patients only. It's a shame because I've gotten over my side effects but can't get my hands on a 1mg pen for love nor money so that's the end for me.

Why don't you just switch to wegovy? It's the same weight loss ingredient but it doesn't deprive diabetics of their medicine

Could you not just move to Wegovy? I thought it was the same drug.

It's not licenced in the country I live in.

Good morning all,

Firstly, let me congratulate your all for the success you are having and the support you are giving people like me without even knowing it, massive thank you :)

I have been reading the thread and have contemplated using Wegovy for sometime. Unfortunately due to depression and a horrific relationship I have allowed myself to get to a horrific weight of 128kg. I also suffer with fibromyalgia and at 47 I am now in complete despair. Your thread has given me some hope and I am hoping you can help me make the final decision to just give this a go. My BMI is 45 and my suggested weight range is 70+kg. I work whereby I am driving in countryside villages and motorways and see that there can be side affects such as Diarrhea, this does put me off but there are days whereby I work from home so wondered the general percentage of those heavily overweight that get the symptom. Also weight is the general weight loss for each, a lot of people have specified the dosages they are on but not necessarily the weight loss they have achieved. Given the cost of this I need to be reasonably such this is at least going to kick start my weight loss enough to help me exercise and control my fibromyalgia a little more.

Any advise, guidance would massively be of assistance, please help me?

I would absolutely give it a try! Worst case you get bad side effects and stop. Best case you change your life.

Everyone starts on the 0.25 dose which may not work for everyone but you build up every 4 weeks.

I'm BMI 31, down to 199lb having lost 5 lb in the 2.5 weeks I've been in wegovy.

It might not sound a lot but I've made minimal changes that I can hopefully sustain long term; smaller portions, (much) less wine, minimal snacks, so this doesn't feel like a fad diet. Day one of the injections (I've had 3 now) I feel really sick all day and want to give up, but the next morning it's gone. I've never had diarrhoea. I drink lots of water. I feel tired but it's no difference to my day to day tiredness with two young kids. I was sick once but I think that was due to having COVID rather than the wegovy.

UnicornAndSparkles · 06/04/2024 09:35

I also haven't exercised, at all. I've had COVID for 1.5 weeks and ate (too much) chocolate over Easter. 2.5 weeks, 5lb gone.

Eversohopeful · 06/04/2024 09:44

Thanks @UnicornAndSparkles, really appreciate the quick response. I have ordered through "The Family Chemist", it did ask for THE photo I think we all dread, something actual that states our weight but I have titled it as The beginning so really can't wait to start my Wegovy Journey. I will keep up with posts and update if I have symptoms and my weight loss weekly so I can be accountable. I have been single for 25 years and have decided I want more in my life so no more hiding or excuses, this is the start........

Flatleak · 06/04/2024 10:40

Morning all, my weekly check in - another week, another pound! Might seem slow to many but for me this works so well being nice and steady.

Stats since starting mid November

SW - 220
CW - 185
GW - 165 (this carries quite a bit depending on my mood Grin)

PrimalLass · 06/04/2024 11:02

Medexpress turned me down for 0.5 because of my thyroxine 🙄

So back to Bolt if I can get an order through.

YourTruthorMine · 07/04/2024 20:51

I haven't had any diarrhea at all, the opposite in fact. Now on 1mg and thinking of dropping down, as I'm feeling very tired with bouts of nausea and reflux. Ok the reflux tends to be self inflicted as it happens during the night when I've had a couple of glasses of wine.

For the first time in my life I can keep a tin of sweet stuff in the kitchen and not binge, totally liberating, I even cut a cookie in half the other day as I couldn't manage a whole one, unimaginable in the days before Wegovy😆

Jacci63 · 07/04/2024 23:36

Flatleak · 23/03/2024 14:06

Checking in as I weigh and inject on Saturdays.

Down another 1 so over 4 months my stats are:
SW 220
CW 188
GW 170
Ultimate goal weight 160 (to be a healthy bmi)

So 32 pounds gone and 28 to go!

Well done to you!

Eversohopeful · 08/04/2024 09:19

Just wondering if anyone else suffered badly with swollen ankles, fingers prior to taking Wegovy and if this has improved since taking wegovy?

Also is there a good time to start the injections such as morning or night time?

I am due my delivery tomorrow and starting to get slightly nervous/excited about what to expect?

Annwithout · 08/04/2024 13:12

Weigh in day.
4th x 1.7 today. Haven't noticed any great improvement between all the doses.
Total loss after 19 jabs = 32.2 pounds. Previously lost 10 pounds with SW, so today hit 3 stones lost - massive hooray!!!!
I did consider leaving my jab another day or so and dragging out the next 4 (2.4 pen in the fridge ready for next week), anyone tried this?
BMI now 28.7.

PrimalLass · 08/04/2024 13:59

Brilliant results 🙌

I was despondent as I felt totally normal re food this weekend and - tmi - super bunged up. But my period has appeared at day 19 🙄 I don't know if that's the wegovy affecting ovulation or the berberine I've started to take again. Or the fact that I'm 50, of course.

DamnItBetsy · 08/04/2024 16:16

Day 5 of week 1 for me. In good news, the side effects only lasted 3 days. I’ve not felt any appetite suppression yet (apart from day 1 but I think that was because I was exhausted and felt sick).

im thinking I might leave 8 days between the next two doses so I can move day 1 and 2 at the weekends so hopefully the side effects will wear off before then. Does this sound okay?

PrimalLass · 08/04/2024 22:55

Last 0.25 tomorrow. I'll wait until after my daughter's birthday later in the week then do the extra bit.

jay55 · 09/04/2024 08:20

First 0.5 jab this morning. My weight is back to what it was 2 weeks ago after a gain last week due to Easter/period/lack of self control/not doing a proper food shop.

My final .25 week I found I was hungry in the morning and could eat loads in the morning but then wouldn't think about food the rest of the day.
I kind of liked that. Though would be anti social long term.

AhBiscuits · 09/04/2024 08:34

I'm back from my holidays. I injected last night and feel like crap today. I couldn't face breakfast but now I'm in work and my stomach is growling a bit. I only have lunch with me so it will need to wait.

OP posts:
PrimalLass · 09/04/2024 11:18

I've lost focus the past few days but am back on it with the water and tracking. My very early period isn't helping but at least it gets out of the way.

My step up pack from Bolt arrived - 0.5 and 1. Thought that was easier than reordering in a month.

PrimalLass · 09/04/2024 12:22

Bought extra needles that are 6mm long not 4mm as that's what Amazon had. They are definitely nippier.

Does anyone get a funny taste in their mouth after the jab?

witte · 09/04/2024 20:19

I'm losing quite quickly at the moment and my tummy is looking very saggy. I need to try and get it more toned otherwise I'll end up with an apron of fat I think.

witte · 09/04/2024 20:20

Also I dropped back to .5 and much happier on it, no nausea and no exhaustion either.

To those asking I stretch to 8/9 days if I feel it's working well with the appetite suppression.
