@dandeliondaisy I'm losing around 1lb a week, been taking it 3 1/2 months and lost 13lbs. I have found some appetite suppression but not loads and I am still craving the sweet, unhealthy foods I was before. It is much more of a learning curve than I'd hoped thought it would be, but I'm trying to see the positive side of it, in that I'm having to learn healthy eating and train my body, rather than losing a whole load of weight merely because I'm taking the injection, which will hopefully mean I keep it off long-term. If I wasn't taking the injections, I think I'd still be a stone heavier so I'm thankful I've lost even some.

PrimalLass · 08/08/2024 11:56

None of it was fast for me. I had to diet strictly too and then was losing 1b/week. Struggling to get my head back into it all after taking a break.

PrimalLass · 08/08/2024 11:57

I definitely wouldn't lose weight on 1500-1800 calories.

dandeliondaisy · 08/08/2024 18:29

@StaySpicy I guess I feel similar in terms of the trajectory changing from 'putting on weight' to levelling out/slowly losing. I am grateful for that, and I'm grateful for the clearer mind in terms of food. So it's definitely positive for me, just very slow, and expensive.

Hi all, I'm feeling a bit down about the entire process. I did my 4 weeks on 0.25 then 4 weeks on 0.5, I'm now about to do week 3 of 1mg and I've lost a mere 4 pounds. I haven't had any side effects and am eating around 1500-1800 calories, I'd say that food is very slightly less appealing but definitely still enjoyable. It just doesn't seem to have the same effect for me in terms of this 'Christmas dinner full' thing / ability to not eat for hours on end. Granted I stop eating after 75% of a plate of food, easily (which is probably unheard of!) but I wouldn't happily turn down meals etc. I don't really know what I'm asking as I know the answer: eat less. I thought it might be easier tbh. Anyone else?

I didn't see real results until I got to 2.4mg then it all changed

dandeliondaisy · 10/08/2024 15:45

@oneskip what happened at 2.4? So intrigued...

All my side effects disappeared (fatigue mainly) and my appetite with it and ate significantly less and steadily lost weight then. Maybe my body needed to build up tolerance but it was a big difference at 2.4. Much better effect.

dandeliondaisy · 13/08/2024 13:28

@oneskip thanks! This makes me more hopeful! Well done sticking with it!

Can anyone recommend where I can get my 1.7mg pen cheaper as the pharmacy I am with is £250 which is expensive and a big jump from the last pens. Thanks in advance

There's a discount thread on the weight loss injections board so you can have a look around for the best price plus a discount code.

I'm now at my lowest weight since before I was pregnant! Lost 6.5kg in 6 weeks, so not a huge amount in comparison to some success stories, but I'm feeling positive as it's the best I've managed in 3 years (thanks, PCOS).

PrimalLass · 18/08/2024 10:23

I made another attempt to get back into this, this week. My gut is in a bad way after falling off the wagon and eating bread, not enough veg etc. I have a stupid work trip on Thursday that I could do without, but will lay good foundations the next few days.

I know what works now - but am so cross with myself for stopping the jab and the way I was eating.

Iggii · 18/08/2024 13:30

Hello, can I join in? I'm on my first week of 1.0 Wegovy. Been quite sick, still want to eat but having to be very cautious! My provider suggested I might want to stay on this dose for two months, which seemed odd as it's still a "building up" dose isn't it?
So many threads on here are now about mounjaro, I hope I've made a good choice picking Wegovy!

AngelsandAliens · 01/09/2024 08:35

Hi all.

Im hoping someone can settle my nerves. I’ve just got accepted for the starting Wegovy pen .

but I’m scared ! Of stomach related things (shitting yourself , urgency all the other things I’ve read)

As I’ve always had issues around the worry of this stuff and had taken Imodium on and off for years .

i have 4 stone to lose. And have to give this a go as im so down about my weight .

do stomach things settle , doesn’t not happen to everyone , any responses welcome ? Thanks ☺️

Iggii · 01/09/2024 08:40

I've been sick and has diahorrea but it's been a few times out of three months - and I can spot what led to it each time. Try not to worry too much.
My own worry is that I'm feeling very little appetite suppression now on 1mg and wondering if I just need to try harder or to move up to 1.75

I've been on it since January and I've only moved up to 0.75mg dose (counting clicks on a 1mg pen) and I'm still losing. Don't go up until you're ready, it'll give you more time to go up the doses, as when you've reached the top, there's nowhere else to go. This will also lessen the side effects.

Some people don't respond to the lower doses and only see an impact until they move up. Others respond well to the lower doses. If you're seeing weight loss now, why not stay on the lower dose? Especially if you're having side effects. You could even drop back down a bit if you wanted.

That would be my advice anyway.

Mybestusername · 01/09/2024 11:59

I've been on it since November and am on 2.4 - like PP I found the side effects disappeared once on maximum dose. I have had quite slow weight loss but have now lost 3 stone, with one stone still to go.

StaySpicy · 01/09/2024 16:23

@AngelsandAliens I've only been sick twice on Wegovy and that was because I went up the doses to 1.7mg too fast. I went back down to 1mg and increased slowly and I'm back on 1.7mg with no real side effects.

Different people get affected in different ways so just try it and see how you get on.

Flatleak · 01/09/2024 16:26

I started getting sick on wegovy once I got to 1.7 (which I've stayed at for about 5 months now). Still happens occasionally but often tarted by me just eating something small and plain first thing eg a biscuit!

Never had the toilet issues, bar constipation.

I've been on it for 9 months and lost 4 stone

somedogsdo · 01/09/2024 23:09

My stomach issues were v much in the other direction ie. Constipation.

The only time I was sick it turned out I actually had a bug.

Personally I've found the fatigue/tiredness harder to handle. But we're all different.

Good advice from others, just go slowly - no need to rush up through the doses. I've been on it since March and only ever got to 1.25 max (now going back down to 0.25 to work back up again but that's only because I ended up taking a few weeks break).

I've lost a steady pound per week when on it which has been a good balance for me.

Good luck!

Iggii · 01/09/2024 23:30

I'm finding my side effects are all earlier in the day - which means I can eat in the evening and I do... weightloss has slowed right down, obviously. Feeling tired and sickly during the day also reduced the exercise I do! However the lower doses aren't actually the therapeutic doses are they? So maybe I should keep going up

The Reddit boards talk about the 1mg plateau . Definitely true for me. Am now on 2nd week of 1.7 and suppression is back. One egg for breakfast and still full now!

Oh that sounds interesting - so based on that better to move up than try another month on 1?

wiggleweggle · 03/09/2024 18:52

I've just finished the last dose of my first 2.4 pen. Wow!!! The suppression is unreal. My body seems to still detect hunger (real hunger) as I cannot function from 10:30 until 12:00, when I am desperate for lunch. I eat a big lunch (mostly salad and then protein. I only eat carbs through vegetables). Then I have a little something around 4pm (either a small bowl of salad or some meat).

I wish I could shift the sheer fatigue though. My back aches and I am ready for bed at around 6pm. Eating dinner massively depends on my energy levels. I know it's important to eat the correct amount of food. Maybe I should have a couple of eggs on a morning, but I just can't stomach it...

PrimalLass · 05/09/2024 23:52

The 1mg plateau made me lose interest and I've not been able to get back into it. I'll order a new pan tomorrow and try again.
