I have decided to start with Mourjano. Have put an order in with Asda and should hopefully be delivered soon!

Anyone else going to give Mourjano a go?

@ObsidianTree I know when Asda ran short of Saxenda they closed to new customers and kept the stock they had for existing only. Not sure if that meant eventually it ran out for existing too, but they do seem to have a policy of ringfenceing stock.

ObsidianTree · 24/02/2024 11:38

@NextPrimeMinister I am hoping they just did the order of 2.5mg first as everyone has to start on that and will have stock of 5mg when those on 2.5mg start coming to then end of their first pen!

Hello. I’d love to join you you all.

I applied for Mounjaro via Boots Online Doctor yesterday and confirmed today that my order has been placed. Don’t know when it will come in at my local Boots.

I am 119kg (as per yesterday - I rarely weigh myself usually) with a BMI of 41. I know I can’t tackle this alone and I hope the medication will be the help I need.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 24/02/2024 13:13

Welcome @SocksShmocks. Good luck with the weight loss - we're the same bmi so will be interesting to see how we both get on.

One thing I've forgotten to do is take my measurements. I think I'll do this today and see how they change over the next couple of months. Are other people measuring as well as weighing?

SocksShmocks · 24/02/2024 14:00

Thanks @PissedOffNeighbour22 - I hadn’t thought of measurements. Maybe I should do that. Or maybe my clothes will act as a measurement.

I’m a bit nervous reading the side effects on the Boots website. But I suppose the only way I’ll know is to try. I hope my medicine is available soon (they said could be 5 days).

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 24/02/2024 14:41

@SocksShmocks I was wary of the side effects too but my DP made the point that I have loads of the side effects as part of daily life anyway so what have I got to lose in trying.

I took it when I knew I had a few days off work just in case of side effects.

Thebaldprimadonna · 24/02/2024 14:55

My first sideeffect has hit on Day 4 - I just got the shakes. It's not too bad and I am now having a glass of squash.

In good news, my friend very kindly ordered me a pastry earlier when we were out for coffee, but I had no hesitation in (apologetically) sending it back. I really didn't want it. A miracle!

ObsidianTree · 24/02/2024 15:09

Good idea to take measurements. I will do that!

I messaged Asda about stock of 5mg pen and they said there will be stock coming in end of Feb/early March.

My pens arrived today.
I will take my first dose in the morning, looking forward to it.

ObsidianTree · 24/02/2024 15:36

Good luck everyone starting soon!

Sorry for TMI but after taking my first dose this morning I have just had a big bout of the runs. Not sure if it's a side effect but pretty happy about it as I was pretty backed up after 2 weeks of Wegovy!

OP posts:
OoohLovelySlippers · 24/02/2024 16:35

Boots have prescribed me 2.5mg. I'll get straight on it after my final 2 doses of 2.4mg Wegovy. I might take the second two doses of 2.5mg in the pen together as by then hopefully I should have my 5mg pen anyway.

Really pleased to see it's cheaper. I spent over 3.5k on Ozempic/Wegovy last year! (Although I did save money on my grocery bill!)

Femeia · 24/02/2024 16:53

Can I join?

I lost a load of weight last year through intermittent fasting, healthy eating and exercise, but lost my mojo a bit and now I can't seem to get back on track.
I had my first injection this afternoon and am hoping to kickstart further losses.
SW Jan 2023 249lbs
CW Feb 2023 212lbs
GW 150lbs

Height 5'9"
Age 52 and perimenopausal
On blood pressure medication and really need my BP to drop

Waiting now for the side effects to kick in....already bought a big bottle of senna tablets Grin

Femeia · 24/02/2024 17:16

Sorry, that's meant to say Feb 2024!

FlappyFish · 24/02/2024 17:24

Welcome to the thread all new starters!

I haven’t done measurements. Good reminder. I will do so tomorrow morning before I get too far into this.

2Tired4Anything · 24/02/2024 17:26

@ObsidianTree
Yeah I’m worried about stock too. Seems lots of placing going out which isn’t a good sign. I’ve already got my 5mg in the fridge so I’m good until April and will be ordering the 7.5mg early too.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 24/02/2024 17:48

I've finally got around to doing my measurements. They're really shocking, even more so than the scales were.

My main problem is my huge overhanging stomach. I'm a bit worried that the weight will go from other places and my stomach will look even worse.

On the plus side the dose must finally be starting to work as I haven't eaten much today at all, despite the kids pushing me to the edge.

Femeia · 24/02/2024 18:19

How quickly does it start acting, do you feel? I injected 3 hours ago and feel no different, as in I could happily snack on anything!

NextPrimeMinister · 24/02/2024 18:44

For me it was within a couple ofhours, but others have taken a bit longer. I'm on day 2 and have to make myself eat.

OoohLovelySlippers · 24/02/2024 19:29

Are most of you starting Mounjaro switching from Wegovy/Ozempic or are most of you starting from scratch? Trying to work out how I will feel going from 2.4mg Ozempic to 2.5mg Mounjaro.

I'm a bit grumpy about the fact that it will take me 6 months to be allowed the highest dose of Mounjaro!

I would just have stayed on Wegovy but Mounjaro does have noticeably better long term statistics plus is cheaper.

I was wondering the same thing. I injected this morning and seem to be picking at food still.

Fingers crossed we start feeling the effects more tomorrow!

@OoohLovelySlippers I was only on wegovy for 2 weeks so decided I would switch to mornjaro.

There are people that are switching from other things that have been on them longer.

I've had my second injection this morning. It's still not had an effect on me, but I was on rybelsus up until december and that didn't work until I was on the highest dose so wasn't expecting anything at 2.5mg. I've had a really dry mouth a couple of hours after each injection which lasted a couple of days last week so I've upped my fluids today as I think mounjaro must dehydrate me a bit.

Femeia · 24/02/2024 20:46

I'm starting from scratch, haven't tried other injections before.
Having read about shortages I've just gone onto Pharmacy2U and ordered the 5ml dose. I bought my initial pen there and it seemed really hard to order from elsewhere (I was shopping around). I'd already used a discount code first time but tried again and that took it down to £164.55 in total so was significantly cheaper than the other places I'd looked at.

I don't work for Pharmacy2U by the way!! It was slightly annoying that I had to do the whole consultation again but at least no photos to send.

Currently trying to work out if it has kicked in - I feel like I could eat loads if I wanted but am resisting

Femeia · 24/02/2024 20:47

I mean, to order a higher dose from elsewhere- several sites I tried only allowed me to put 2.5m in my basket not 5m

MuthaHubbard · 24/02/2024 22:20

Day one seems to have gone ok - a couple of hours after injection I felt a little nauseous but that seemed to pass after a coffee and have just had the dry mouth feeling. Sipped water and haven't felt hungry at all today. No breakfast or lunch, had a dairylea dipper of all things at about 3pm, then tea at 7 was some pork belly, veg and sweet potato wedges. I wasn't actually hungry but I plated up a smaller portion than usual and couldn't finish the wedges. Not sure if it was a placebo effect as didn't think it would kick in so quickly. But this is my first time on any injection.

Did feel a little tired after eating actually but so far so good
