I have decided to start with Mourjano. Have put an order in with Asda and should hopefully be delivered soon!

Anyone else going to give Mourjano a go?

@Thebaldprimadonna that's great! I'm not a morning person at all so I'd love to wake up easier.

So I took my 1st dose on Tuesday. Side effects are reducing. I planned to weigh myself on Monday but did it this morning. 4lbs down! Must be water weight but still good to see the scale go down so quickly. I'm a shortie with pcos so I usually only lose 1lb a week if I'm very strict with myself!

Another shortie with PCOS here 👋

FlappyFish · 23/02/2024 10:21

@bblondemoment i think that describes it well and it’s very hard to describe. Food just has no interest at all.

I’m resisting doing my first weigh in post. I have always been a daily weightier. Not that it did any good. I know it’s working.

Sod it. When I ordered a week ago today I was 14.1. I am now 13.9.

Great news! You must be delighted.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 23/02/2024 11:22

@FlappyFish Well done on your first weigh in/loss 🥳

@bblondemoment I have that same feeling in my chest too. Unfortunately I'm also hungry at the same time and sadly my appetite isn't affected. I'm trying to be mindful of what I eat and reduce it but it's a struggle.

I'm only on my third day but I'd have hoped to have seen a difference in my eating by now. Maybe I need the higher doses to get the effect that others are seeing on the starter dose.

MuthaHubbard · 23/02/2024 12:40

Mine has just been delivered so planning on injecting in the morning.

Have I got it right that once prepped, you keep turning until the 1 is in the window, then inject? Sorry - just with some saying instructions a bit confusing, I wanted to clarify

FlappyFish · 23/02/2024 13:04

I'm super happy!

The instructions were confusing and a few of us thought we’d done it incorrectly. I just prepped my pen for tomorrow though and it was right. Thankfully. It would have been an expensive mistake. Though I do think the pen stops it overloading.

Add needle. Turn it two clicks to the right. It loads the injection. Tap the top of the pen and you will get a small air bubble. You will see a very small amount bead at the top. Depress it back down to 0 showing. Twist it all the way out and inject, taking the syringe back down to 0.

I think the US pens are better as it’s one dose a pen. None of this loading stuff. 😂

Also if I have the injection but wrong please tell me. It wasn’t as straightforward as it could be and we don’t want to waste it when it costs so much.

FlappyFish · 23/02/2024 13:12

I also really need to preview my posts as my spelling mistakes are awful. Sorry.

MuthaHubbard · 23/02/2024 13:28

Thanks @FlappyFish

NextPrimeMinister · 23/02/2024 15:57

I injected at 8am and feel ok, had a busy day and my lunch was pushed out till 2pm and I'm usually ravenous by 12. Might be all in my head, but hopefully this is the start of food noise reduction/reduced appetite.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 23/02/2024 17:00

Day 4, thumping headache and not had a poo.

mainlining prunes and paracetamol.
face is thinner

Hello all.
I'm on 2.4mg Ozempic but weight loss is under 2lbs/month. (I've gone from 14st 5 to 11st in 10 months).
I'm considering switching. But like a pp, I'm worried my progress will go backwards before it goes forwards again, considering you have to start on a low dose. Good to see that prices are coming down though!!
Anyone have any thoughts on my situation?

You might not have to start at the lowest dose, some places will allow you to switch to the higher dose. There's a lot of mixed messages from different pharmacies so best to check with the place you get them from.

OoohLovelySlippers · 23/02/2024 18:17

Thanks. Boots seem to be forcing me to start at 2.5. Boots are so bloody conservative honestly!

wizzywig · 23/02/2024 20:59

Are you all paying £189 a pen?

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 23/02/2024 22:08

Mine was £186.49 from asda including postage.

pallyloo · 23/02/2024 22:10

Anyone from Northern Ireland getting it delivered ok?

ItsFunToBeAVampire · 23/02/2024 23:03

Mine has been dispatched and should arrive tomorrow.

I ordered the starter pack from Bolt which included 1x 2.5mg and 1x 5mg pens and cost £329 including p&p.

MuthaHubbard · 24/02/2024 07:36

First injection done

Went out for food with friends last night and there was a bit of chat around this as a friends dh started on ozempic a month ago and has lost a stone - they all agreed they'd happily pay 200 quid to lose a stone. I didn't mention anything but it did make me feel a little better about doing this myself, still not told anyone and not sure why

bblondemoment · 24/02/2024 08:53

Day 3 for me and the hardest battle is to stay of the scales to see if this is starting to work even a tiny bit( I know it's crazy to expect any results butI'm desperate for this to work)
I just want the scales to confirm this is the right choice but I'm not going to weigh myself until the day of my second injection.
Can I just ask everyone though - once you've completed the first month at 2.5 are most people going to move to 5. Pen?

NextPrimeMinister · 24/02/2024 08:59

First 24 hour update = feeling fuller quicker, enjoy taste of food but ate smaller portions. Was able to easily resist fish and chips that the family had and had soup and toast instead. Have chocolate in the house but no desire to eat (unheard of).
Bowel movements are normal.
Went out with friends and couldn't physically finish second glass of wine as felt so full.

FlappyFish · 24/02/2024 09:00

Second injection done.

I suppose I should move up to .5, though the way this is working I’m worried I may not be able to eat at all. 😳

I paid whatever Asda was. £187 I think.

I have told one friend. A colleague in the States. She said good for you and everyone is on Ozempic here!

I think that's a great way to look at it - if you asked most overweight woman if they'd pay £200 to lose a stone I'm sure most would x

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 24/02/2024 10:42

@bblondemoment I'm definitely moving up as soon as I can as I'm not feeling/seeing what everyone else seems to be on here.
If the 5 doesn't do anything for me either then I think I'll stop after 3 months.
I should lose something though as I'm trying to ignore the constant hunger and reduce calories.

Yesterday I had 1446 calories which is unheard of for me. I'd usually eat 1000 more than that on average.

What really grated on me though is my DP logged what he'd eaten and he'd had 3000 calories in the day and then ate a quarter of a party caterpillar cake for pudding. Yet he's 9st despite not exercising etc. That was a good day for him too as he didn't snack 😕.

It really brought to the fore that a lot of weight issues are just genetics and how fast your metabolism is. Unfortunately mine is shite 😄.

ObsidianTree · 24/02/2024 10:46

Well done @FlappyFish for the loss!

Re the injection, do you need to prime it each time you take it?

OP posts:
ObsidianTree · 24/02/2024 10:52

I have taken my first dose of murnjaro so can finally join the chat properly!

I made sure I read the instructions fully so I knew I was doing it right. Primed it etc. Think I did it ok!

Was pleasantly surprised when I opened the needles that Asda sent on the side as they had 7 needles in! Not sure if it's a mistake, but will be handy to have the extra needles!

I took my last dose on wegovy last sat and went out last night with my cousin's for a curry and drinks. They are big drinkers and were getting lots of drinks and topping up my glass. I really struggled to drink much at all. I managed to drink maybe 2 glasses of prosecco. I just didn't feel like it. They must have wondered what was going on as usually I can drink a lot! Also I didn't eat loads of the curry that I had and only managed about 1/3 of the naan bread I ordered and about 1 table spoon of rice. So the Wegovy did do something tbf. Hoping murnjaro has the same effects etc!

Good luck everyone!

Is anyone else worried about the stock of the 5mg? I just went on boots to check if they were in stock and they aren't yet.

Anyone heard when they will get stock of it?

Or will they expect everyone to stay on the 2.5mg does for longer?
