I have decided to start with Mourjano. Have put an order in with Asda and should hopefully be delivered soon!

Anyone else going to give Mourjano a go?

It's really exciting reading all your posts. Can you collect asda reward points for the pen?

PeachPoster · 25/02/2024 00:42

Day 5 for me and the munchies kicked in a bit tonight and I didn't seem to be able to resist compared to the other nights this week. It's disappointing but overall I probably ate less over the course of the day than usual. I also felt fantastic in myself today, had loads of energy and got lots done.

I'm wondering if the effects are wearing off a little. On the whole though I'm in a much better space than last Saturday so I'm just going to stay positive. 😊

You can get boots advantage points because I put in my details when ordering .

perhaps stupidly I didn’t shop around and just went for boots as we have a local store and I suppose they’re a trusted name (which I know doesn’t make sense - it’s the same medication from any pharmacy)

SocksShmocks · 25/02/2024 07:53

I have never used any weight loss medication before. It’s all new to me. Or will be when I get my order

Hi Ladies, I recieved my first order yesterday and am planning on starting Monday (in case there are any nasty side effects). How long did it take to kick in? I am terrible snack wise so really hoping this helps. Do you find you have to force yourself to have meals? I don't really know what's best to do if I don't feel hungry.

I've tried to make sure that I eat three regular meals as I think it helps with side effects like headache/fatigue/tummy issues to not fast for too long. I have found that when I've started to eat I've enjoyed the food but I think everyone is different.
The main side effect I had was a headache but rehydration powders really helped with this so I now have one or two every day ( try Amazon under electrolytes for big choice). I think I have been dehydrated for years so this has been an eye opener for me!!!
Good luck to the new starters!

I did my first jab on Tuesday evening and woke up feeling fine. It had certainly kicked in overnight.

I have been very lucky and have really only had one side effect (low blood sugar yesterday).

I haven't had to force food down. I haven't wanted breakfast. I have had lunch but only wanted something like soup. My main evening meal has been pretty standard, but I seem to be eating much more slowly and I don't feel the need to finish everything. I am savouring my food much more.

I can totally resist snacking and treats. I went out to eat with a friend last night and she ordered a chocolatey dessert and I was able to see why she was enjoying it but it just didn't interest me. Fatty and sweet foods just give me the ick.

It's a quite remarkable change in my mindset.

NextPrimeMinister · 25/02/2024 09:18

It started in a couple of hours for me. No desire to snack, not feeling starving all the time an wondering what to eat next.

I've been making myself eat 3 small meals a day. I also feel very full, very quickly, so can only eat a third of what I'd usually eat.

I'd easily get Hangry before, and am not sure if that would still happen if I miss meals.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 25/02/2024 09:51

@1stTimeMummy2021 I took mine on Wednesday morning and it took until yesterday to have any real effect.

I ate less but I was still really hungry yesterday and did give in to some snacks.

Where I found it may have worked was when my DP came back from work at 8:30pm and I discovered our tea was still frozen in the middle - usually we'd just order takeaway but I made egg fried rice instead. And I made a conscious decision not to eat all of it.

I woke up at 5am starving this morning but I've still not eaten anything. I'm going to have to give in soon though as I'm just so hungry.

I'd usually have multiple packs of crisps per day though and I've hardly eaten any in the last few days. I had none yesterday which I'm really happy about.

Femeia · 25/02/2024 12:03

I injected yesterday afternoon- hard to say how quickly it has kicked in. I've had no adverse effects at all so I'm waiting for that to happen. Last night I just had a small meal and didn't reach for snacks as normal but I don't know if that was first day willpower or the drugs working.
I've been for a long walk this morning and not eaten yet,but that isn't abnormal as I'm not a breakfast person. Waiting to see if I'm tempted to graze this afternoon.
My dd baked some brownies and I've not been tempted by them so fingers crossed! I think that even if this is something that helps my willpower a bit and focuses my mind on making better choices, it will be a good thing.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 25/02/2024 12:27

@Femeia That's how I'm looking at it too. I'm really lacking in willpower so if this focusses me better (due to the cost!) then it's a good thing.

Femeia · 25/02/2024 12:42

@PissedOffNeighbour22 I even thought about how much I can put away in snacks and drinks which I hopefully won't be now, and so I should be making savings on those to offset the cost. I'm also hopefully losing weight and improving my health which you can't puta price on.
I've done meal replacement plans before and those are £2-3 per meal, so a lot more expensive.

FlappyFish · 25/02/2024 12:51

More than anything, taking this has made me realise that my being overweight is not a moral failing on my behalf. My brain and body have been set up to make me feel the need to eat. I have always felt that I am weak. That everyone experienced the same hunger pangs and had the willpower to ignore them.

I know it’s incredibly complex psychologically. Everytime I caved and ate and felt that relief and then shame I was not strong enough.

Do those who are thinner feel as I do having taken this? That food isn’t everything? I can enjoy a small portion of something, but I don’t feel the compulsion.

Dynamite for the bum is needed, I agree. 😂

stealtheatingtunnocks · 25/02/2024 14:45

Ok, bum suggestions, please.

ive eaten prunes, coffee, chugging water and moving my fat ass has done nothing but some pathetic farts.

these things always work. there is some out of date child movicol in the cabinet, I might try that as I’m a bit scared by what is going to happen to my bumhole.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 25/02/2024 15:05

@Femeia I'll be saving on takeaways as we have at least one per week usually. Although it will be DP saving as he usually pays for them. It's not a lot - usually £8-10 on a Chinese meal to share or £15 on an Indian meal to share but it adds up when we have them every week.
McDonald's may well go bust without our business though 😂.

I'll be glad to be saving money not eating crisps because they're bloody extortionate lately.

FlappyFish · 25/02/2024 16:56

I’m just taking senna tablets at night. They don’t always work. I think my bowels are just not used to this at all.

ticktock19 · 25/02/2024 17:05

Magnesium is useful for getting things moving..however it must be the citrate form and probably more than the recommended daily dose of 200mg. I've doubled that dose with no issues and it's helped.

ticktock19 · 25/02/2024 17:06

stealtheatingtunnocks · 25/02/2024 17:33

Thanks all. I’m never constipated, I have a vaginal prolapse so I’m very careful with my bowels!

zobalina77 · 25/02/2024 19:07

Day 9 and its finally working. Had 1 slice of toast with beans at lunchtime and am absolutely stuffed still, really uncomfortable.. Feels like I've had a 5 course meal. Bowels wise feel like I could become constipated if I'm not careful, so drinking lots of water.

1stTimeMummy2021 · 25/02/2024 20:11

Ladies, I did it, after reading about some people taking it at night in the hope of sleeping off the first side effects, I took it tonight. Wow was it a lot more liquid than I thought it'd be, I kept turning the dial to get to that 1 thinking where is it, have I missed it. With the tiny needle it was a lot less painful than the fragmin injections I had to take after I had my son. God I hope this works.

ILostMyself · 25/02/2024 20:14

I ordered from pharmacy2u and received a few days ago but just went to use tonight and have realised there’s no needles in the box? Anyone had that issue?

I have some spare needles from using wegovy last year and using the click method on pens. Hoping it’s the standard needles that fit this pen, does anyone know? I will contact pharmacy2u as well. Really annoying
