I have decided to start with Mourjano. Have put an order in with Asda and should hopefully be delivered soon!

Anyone else going to give Mourjano a go?

Hi all, I’m a newbie here. I ordered via Pharmacy2u on Friday and it arrived yesterday. I took it straight away.

Side effects so far. Tiredness. And I wouldn’t have eaten breakfast only the kids made pancakes for Mother’s Day. I’m normally scoffing down sugary food by now and only ate to show appreciation, not because of hunger which is unheard of for me.

Im 5ft3 and 13 stone 3lbs. Perimenopausal and a binge eater. Have struggled with weight for the past 20 years now. I tried saxenda and the side effects were so bad I put on weight. Hoping this will be different. Good luck everyone.

Sounds like we’re similar - I’m 5’3 and 13 stone - definitely have a sweet tooth so will be intersting to see how I feel after this!

I'm thinking of joining you all. Currently BMI of almost 31 but if I had a good first month I could drop into overweight instead of obese. Would this then mean I couldn't get the prescription? Any experience of this please?

LoadsToLose · 11/03/2024 13:40

My injection is due tomorrow (Tuesday) and I’m feeling ravenous today for the first time since starting this medication! It’s gonna be a long day lol

I think you can stay on it if you start as obese. But not sure how long. I think there are people on wegovy that are staying on it even when BMI in normal range... But not sure. I hope you can stay on it as long as you want! I want the option to get to a low BMI if I can do well for that long.

It is annoying! And you fear eating too much incase it messes up your weekly weigh in 😂 I keep bringing my injection day forward a day to keep the hunger away 😂. But I can't keep doing that! It will cost me too much! Hoping by the time I'm on 5mg /7.5mg that it will last a week

Ordered yesterday from Asda and sent photos, but not heard anything since. Is this typical? I wish I just went where I was recommended now, but thought Asda would be more reliable. I can't see how I can cancel order either.

FlappyFish · 11/03/2024 14:17

@Whattobakeiwonder that was about my starting BMI and I’m now 29.4.

@Updownleftandright they will come back to you. They don’t work all through the weekend. I suspect now more of us are posting and talking about this they are getting more requests.

Updownleftandright · 11/03/2024 14:22

Yeah that could well be the case. I will give it another day and then give them a call asking for my money back if I havent heard anything. I'd like to start this week if possible because of the timings. I'm not in the obese range so they might decline my request, but they should give the money back if that's the case. I was surprised they took the money before the order was approved by a doctor to be honest. Seems a weird way of doing things.

Choux · 11/03/2024 14:25

@ObsidianTree a day's Mounjaro is about £6 (depending on how much you paid for your pen). You will save a bit on food by injecting early and killing the hunger pangs. So doing it a day early won't cost much more than a Starbucks.

But if you could get that '5th dose' out that will more than make up for the extra cost of taking each injection a day early.

ObsidianTree · 11/03/2024 14:48

Thanks @Choux :) The extra dose and the eating less makes it worth it for sure!

But overweight still isn't healthy. Each website selling Mounjaro has slightly different info on what happens once you are on it and losing weight. Remember they are making money by selling it to you. They probably won't sell it to you once your BMI is 18-20 but they want to keep selling it to you to make money.

Med express imply everyone accepted can use it for at least 6 months:

How long can I use Mounjaro®?
The clinical team will review your weight with every order to ensure this product is working for you. When you have used your highest tolerated dose for 6 months, we will review your progress. For us to continue prescribing Mounjaro® to you, you’ll need to have lost around 5% of your initial body weight. You are likely to be able to continue using it for up to two years with clinical guidance.
Will you check in with my progress?

If you have any queries or concerns at any time, you can contact the pharmacy’s customer services team via the MedExpress website, who will be happy to help you.

Whattobakeiwonder · 11/03/2024 15:25

Thanks for all the input. I think I'm going to give it a go.

Choux · 11/03/2024 16:30

Day 5 of Week 1. I can tell it's wearing off now. Having to rely more on willpower. Am looking forward to the next injection on Wednesday. I'd inject early but I am in the office tomorrow so don't want to be there with zero hunger as someone might notice.

Will definitely go up to 5mg for the next pen.

ChristmasLightsLover · 11/03/2024 16:46

@choux well done. Keep going.

I'm on day three of my second week. Finding it really strange. Am I sure if I'm hungry or if it's just my stomach gurgling. I am not necessarily hungry. But my tummy hurts as it sorts itself out.

Updownleftandright · 11/03/2024 18:25

Still haven't heard from Asda, despite them saying its 24 hours for a decision and it being well over that. Not really impressed with them so far. I wouldn't mind normally, but they've already took my money and they haven't even told me if they will be prescribing me anything yet. I wish I chose somewhere else now as at least I'd have an answer by now. Maybe they are just hoarding pictures of fat people and they have weird fetishes 😀My friend got a response in a couple of hours, so this is pretty crap in comparison.

CiderJabs · 11/03/2024 18:39

Hello Smile

Been lurking and reading as I took my first jab last Wednesday. I've used saxenda before with limited success and awful indigestion so I was sceptical but I'm a changed woman!

Been having dry mouth and constipation but on the flip side I've had no appetite!

I started at 11st 7 (I'm too short to even mention it!) and need to get down to under 10 to be healthy.

Curious to know if anyone has managed to take the "final dose" and if so, what syringe you got?

I also check my weight daily, can't help myself. Today I am 11-2 so a 5lb loss. I'm over the moon!

Do you create an account when you order? If you log into that is there not a way to message them?

Hi everyone

I've joined the club. My package arrives tomorrow. I'm 50 years old and am struggling with peri menopausal weight gain. My BMI just about meets the criteria at 30. I've been debating injectibles for so long. I don't binge eat but I love my food and I'm greedy. I have managed to put on a stone in the last year despite walking 15000 steps a day and lifting weights 4 x a week. I have 2.5 stone to lose, which isn't huge but I just can't shift it.

I am worried about what happens when I need to come off it and realise it will probably be long term.

I'm also really worried about the logistics of the pen. It sounds complicated! Are the needles already in the pen?

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 11/03/2024 19:38

@Updownleftandright mine took a few days despite others on here being approved the next day. I was pretty annoyed about it especially as it took another 2 days to arrive after approval.

I've ordered my second pen and that was much quicker so I'll stick with asda for now.

The pen isn’t difficult. The needles are separate but very easy to install. Prepping the pen I found straight forward, I’d realised from reading here that there’s a lot of turning to get the dose released. And injecting was a doddle, it goes in without having to really jab it.

Exitstrategist · 11/03/2024 20:20

Hey just wondering if you can use the extra dose with the last needle when you are doing the final 2.5 thus I suppose going up to 5 a week early?

izzy2076 · 11/03/2024 20:24

Thanks @KeepingUndercover. Do the needles come in the package?

KeepingUndercover · 11/03/2024 20:29

They should do, check the package carefully in case you miss them as they’ll be separate to the pen. I got needles and swab and a sharps bin with my order from MedExpress.

CiderJabs · 11/03/2024 20:36

I got a box with 7 needles and a sharps bin

Keepthepeace82 · 11/03/2024 21:56

Hey all,

I've been reading the thread for the last couple of days and hoping I can join for a bit of moral support! I got approval today (hopefully will be delivered on Wednesday or Thursday). I'm very much an emotional eater and self sabotage when it comes to diets. I'm on the wait-list for CBT to deal with my relationship with food (amongst other things). I'll weigh in before I do the injections so it's accurate. Excited to get started!
