I have decided to start with Mourjano. Have put an order in with Asda and should hopefully be delivered soon!

Anyone else going to give Mourjano a go?

@Keepthepeace82 hopefully murnjaro helps. I think even if you were to self sabotage you probably would feel too full quickly to be able to over do it! Good luck

Good luck @izzy2076 :)

@Exitstrategist I intend to use the last bit to give me a 5mg dose. I have ordered insulin needles incase the pen doesn't twist to get the last bit out!

@CiderJabs good luck! A few pages back flappyfish posted a photo on the type of needles she bought that got the meds out. Insulin needles from Amazon basically.

Good luck to anyone else new I've missed! I'm probably a few pages behind!

Week 2 and 1kg (2.2lb) down this week. That’s better. I haven’t had any side effects and have not felt massively full but am not ravenously hungry either. I am planning to use the fifth dose next week along with the usual 4th dose to go up to 5 mg a week early.

Updownleftandright · 12/03/2024 08:42

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 11/03/2024 19:38

@Updownleftandright mine took a few days despite others on here being approved the next day. I was pretty annoyed about it especially as it took another 2 days to arrive after approval.

I've ordered my second pen and that was much quicker so I'll stick with asda for now.

Thanks for letting me know about your experience. I might try and call around lunchtime if I haven't heard. When you decide to go ahead with the treatment you just want to get started don't you, and the anxiety about whether it is the right thing to do builds up. I probably am being impatient, but it is annoying if they say 24 hours for a decision and it isn't. Good to hear how everyone else is doing on here. Sounds promising if I do manage to get it

April88 · 12/03/2024 08:59

Week 2 and 5lb down this week, 7lb in total. Pleased with that!

I haven’t really had side effects luckily, I do feel a lot less hungry. Just done my third injection.

I’ve got my 5mg ready. People who are trying to get the extra out the 2.5mg, how do you know you’re using the correct amount? Is it a whole dose?

KeepingUndercover · 12/03/2024 09:02

24 hours in and I’m spending so much time thinking about whether I feel any different that I’m not sure how I feel. I’ve decided pretty normal. I’m really grateful to the person who posted the dose outline up thread as it means if I don’t have an instant result I’m not going to give up hope. It’s useful to know it might take a higher dose to see big changes.

FlappyFish · 12/03/2024 09:08

Each dose is 0.6ml and that’s exactly what I got out of the pen by using the needles. (I had to split it 5/1 as the needles I bought didn’t hold it all.

Interestingly my period just started. I have mirena, but I can have a cycle anything between 23-26 days. That means I’ve got through the few days before it normally wanting to eat the world with no hormone cravings either. MJ has killed those too. Result!!

Scalessayeek · 12/03/2024 09:08

After high fluctuations throughout the second week (heavy period!) I've finished week two with an overall loss of 10.5lbs. I'm anticipating a 2/3 loss a week so I'm very happy so far. Still the easiest diet I've ever been on Grin

This was me too, probably for the first two days. The only thing I noticed was if I drank a lot in a short space of time or ate a decent amount I had a few burps Hmm

But come the third day I realised I wasn't really hungry anymore and wasn't bothered about food. If I think I might be feeling a little hungry I have a drink and it usually goes away. Have been trying to not eat for 16 hours a day but will eat if I need to before that. Shopping is easy, not bothered about treats and making the right choices when it came to food.

Definitely not a magic fix in the fact the fat doesn't just disappear it still takes time, it's just painless. I said to my Husband it's like I'm still in the race for the marathon but whilst everyone else is running along, I'm cruising next to them on a mobility scooter 🤪 it's the only metaphor I can think of!

EsotericMnemonic · 12/03/2024 09:41

Just been catching up with the thread, great to read that so many are finding Mounjaro helpful. I wonder how many people in the UK are taking it now?

I've now taken my second 2.5mg dose after losing 8lb in the first week, which I'm really pleased with. Far fewer side effects than the first dose, just some very slight nausea and tiredness, but nothing like the first dose. It's amazing being able to make such better food choices so easily. I've mainly eaten wholegrains, chicken and vegetables, fruit (not too much because of the sugar), eggs etc this week, managing to hit 100g of protein a day and keeping to under 1,400 calories. I definitely felt more hungry towards the end of the week, but could still manage to make better food choices when hungry.

For week 2 I'm going to try to be more active, making sure I walk at least 10,000 steps a day. This wasn't so easy last week when the side effects were more severe.

Just read this article around GLP-1 drugs and dopamine, really interesting. It does get more relevant as you read on!

An illustration shows a giant eyeball fixating on a small cupcake. The eye has visible blood vessels and tears coming from it.

Is Ozempic an anti-desire drug?

Scientists are realizing GLP-1 drugs have the potential to turn down cravings — for more than just food.

That is a very interesting article. I bite my nails so now I’m going to be watching for any change in that too!

ObsidianTree · 12/03/2024 10:20

Well done to all the great weight losses this week!

@Updownleftandright it is frustrating waiting for Asda to get back to you! I was at work the day after submitting my request and they messaged saying I needed to send pics standing on scales and full shot etc. was so annoyed that I had to wait to go home to take the damn pics that they took 24hrs to decide I needed! Your wait is probably nearly over!

I'm going to Disneyland on weekend so decided to take my next dose today. Two days early but thought i would prefer to be over any side effects before the weekend. Did the 2.5mg and now waiting for my needles from Amazon to come today to get the other 2.5mg from the pen! I don't have Amazon prime to have to wait days for my deliveries! Wish it would hurry up and arrive😂

Same! It’s not helping me with that I have to say, but tbh it would need to be a miracle drug to stop all my bad habits.

rainbowsandinfinitesparkles · 12/03/2024 13:07

So my pen arrived this morning and first injection done. So excited to start this journey.

Can I ask what food tracker apps everyone is using please and also how much protein should I aim to be eating?

TitsInAbsentia · 12/03/2024 13:27

I use my fitness pal, I've just used it for years so find it easiest rather than trying anything new!

As for protein it's a bit individual, but guidance is 1-2g of protein per kilo of bodyweight.

TitsInAbsentia · 12/03/2024 13:27

@Scalessayeek I'm loving the Mounjaro mobility scooter!

FlappyFish · 12/03/2024 13:55

I’m not tracking food. Only because I am not eating a lot at all. Salad and chicken. Crackers and ham. And a twister lolly. 😂

pinkfluffybunny · 12/03/2024 14:15

Hi everyone, I'd like to join in please.

I have followed this thread for a short while and decided to take the plunge. My injections were delivered this morning. I took my first one at 12.30pm. I have started a diary to keep a check on weight loss and side effects etc.

I have at least 2.5 stone to lose. I cannot exercise due to disability, so we shall see how I get on.

I love reading everyone's updates as the weeks go by. I will add mine along the way.

That’s fascinating. I noticed yesterday that my nails have grown and I’m always gnawing at them!

I’ve got ADHD and a lot of my eating is linked to dopamine. I went through weight managemtn programme on nhs and was really resentful, I’m not fat because I can’t cook or don’t understand a portion and I don’t have an eating disorder, there’s no “trigger” food or self loathing - it that when I’m stuffed my mind shuts up a bit so to function I learned to eat. Y psych told me that 10% of chroniclaly women are thought to have undiagnosed ADHD. That’s a lot of women.

zaffa · 12/03/2024 14:51

So my delivery is with Royal Mail, who said they would deliver it today but their tracking says it's reached an MC office and will now be sent to the local sorting office - so this doesn't sound like I'll get it today!
Has anyone had experience with Royal Mail? I assumed they delivered in the mornings really, has anyone had a parcel late in the day?

Wonkypictureframe · 12/03/2024 15:23

Our Royal Mail stuff can come throughout the day.

I just read that Eli Lilly said specifically when launching Mounjaro that it should only be used for management of Type II and not for cosmetic weight loss. It’s made me feel a bit edgy.

I’ve had my first jab. Feeling a bit spaced out but that could be psychosomatic. I’ve got my weekly gym session today with my trainer so hoping I don’t suddenly collapse while lifting!

spamm · 12/03/2024 15:30

@Wonkypictureframe - that's the exact words I used to describe how I felt after my first 7.5 dose - spaced out. It calmed down within 24 hours, but it just made me feel a little disconnected, if that makes sense.

KeepingUndercover · 12/03/2024 15:32

@Wonkypictureframe in the US Mounjaro is the diabetes treatment and they released Zepbound as the weight loss treatment. Same as Ozempic and Wegovy. But for some reason in the UK they are keeping the name Mounjaro for their weight loss 'version'.

WhathaveIdoneagain · 12/03/2024 16:05

I am only thinking about Mounjaro yet. I was wondering if it is around £180-£200 per month everywhere? It is a bit too much to spend on myself.
Also how long are people using these sorts of medicine? DM's neighbour has been on it for at least a year.

ObsidianTree · 12/03/2024 16:22

Hey all, my needles arrived and I got the last bit out. It was about 0.6ml. I injected it thinking it was 0.6mg so would make my dose about 3mg, but now thinking what's the conversion from ml to grams!? Have i injected too much?!

I will go try and figure out the conversion!

Also, don't know who plans to get the needles and inject, but I tried my tummy first and the needle hurt too much and wouldn't pierce, so tried the thigh and that was less painful!

Mounjaro - Starting soon!
