I have decided to start with Mourjano. Have put an order in with Asda and should hopefully be delivered soon!

Anyone else going to give Mourjano a go?

Week 2 weigh in - 3lbs loss. Total so far 11lbs. Over the moon with what I've lost and the continued overall lack of food noise.
3rd injection done earlier - I am out to eat today for the first time since starting this so will see how that goes.

Choux · 09/03/2024 08:53

This is from the MedExpress website which someone mentioned earlier. It discusses each dose but the 12.5 and 15 aren't relevant to us yet. Month 1 / 2.5mg is only supposed to give subtle changes to appetite so I am starting to think on the higher ones you could skip food entirely without feeling hungry - unless your body acclimatises as I am only three days in but am amazed at what 2.5mg of this drug does.

Hi all 👋🏼 I’ve been lurking for a few weeks on this thread and this morning decided to join as I’m encouraged by all your progress!

back story on me, I’m 37 CW is 15st 6lb, I'm quite tall and my happy weight is around 12 stone (size 10/12) which I managed to get down too a few years ago through Keto but meeting my new partner 2 years ago put an end to that as too restrictive and it’s creeped on up 😕

I received my first 2.5mg last Tuesday via ASDA, the first injection was scary, I instantly felt dizzy, sat myself on the floor and all went black my eldest (19) found me coming back to on the kitchen floor, I read a few things on Reddit and as I suffer from anxiety i think it was just that and can be a normal reaction, I did have a bit of a panic as I injected and I thought I’d given myself the full dose 🤣🙈 anyhoo we move….

not weighing myself yet but have to say this is a revelation to me, I have always said it’s in the mind, I’ve been around the block with weight loss and have been up and down for most of my adult life, this is a game changer, it’s totally freeing not to think about food constantly and the incessant battle to binge! I’ve not had total loss of appetite the first week but it has decreased dramatically and I am making better choices, tracking on MFP I am generally eating around 1200 cals

only my partner and eldest daughter know as I can’t exactly hide it in the fridge! I’m going to get partner to inject me next time while I’m led on the bed 🙈🤣🤣

thanks for letting me join in all, let’s smash it!!!

FlappyFish · 09/03/2024 09:45

@Choux I’d not seen that list before. That’s crazy!

@Happymoss welcome! Mine is still hidden in the salad drawer and since OH doesn’t go in there I’ve now had 4 injections and he doesn’t know. Oops 😂

FirstSpringSiskin · 09/03/2024 09:57

I read the in-box info to say that once you’ve done the first dose from the pen you can store at room temperature. So I’ve left mine in a drawer. Is that wrong?

wizzywig · 09/03/2024 10:17

@FirstSpringSiskin I put mine in the fridge

wizzywig · 09/03/2024 10:17

Day 3 of first dose. I have realised I eat out of habit.

Thebaldprimadonna · 09/03/2024 10:18

Morning! I am a daily weigher, so I am here with good news, which is that after 2.5 weeks (!) on 2.5 of Mourjano I have lost a stone (and a pound). I honestly can't believe it 😀

Fitbit tells me that I was last this weight in 2018. I'm still obese but not being feels doable now for the first time in years.

zaffa · 09/03/2024 10:19

ObsidianTree · 09/03/2024 07:53

I'm another 3lbs off this week.
So since starting murnjaro that's 6lbs off in 2 weeks. Happy with that progress and glad I got something off this week.

SW: 16.3lbs murnjaro
CW: 15st 11lbs

Last night I had some side effects from 3rd jab. Was very thirsty and I couldn't get warm. Had to put fluffy PJ bottoms and my oodie on to get warm enough to sleep. Even then I was awake until like 2am freezing! My fitbit tells me I had 3 hrs sleep! At least it's Saturday!

Hope everyone is doing well :)

Amazing loss, well done!
Are those side effects definitely the injection? Is that usual?

Mortigua · 09/03/2024 10:21

I’m another salad drawer hider !
mice put on a pound since my first (real!) injection but I have had wine two evenings in a row so hoping that’s just water weight .
feeling very sick today because I ate late last night and I don’t feel even slight hunger , even the thought of food makes me feel ill. So I am not sure I’ll eat till much later and going to try to do fast 800 from now as many days as I can manage

MoreThanJustANumber · 09/03/2024 10:48

End of week one and my weight is exactly the same as before I started. Confused

I haven't felt any different since having the jab, no effects at all apart from slightly dry mouth but was sure I'd been eating less because I did want to waste the money I was spending!

Maybe next week will be better.

LoadsToLose · 09/03/2024 10:55

I’ve had a small loss, happy with this. Third dose due on Tuesday and I will think about placing the order for 5mg dose from Asda soon. This thread is getting very popular- which is great- but I’m getting a bit worried about the security of supply!

SW 229lbs (16 stone 5 lb)
CW 223lbs (15 stone 13 lb)

I’m mainly achey and stiff - could be nothing to do with the meds though

I’m sticking to low calorie diet under 1,500 calories per day (I’m very tall so my allowance is higher than average woman). I will review this when I take 5mg but for now, it is manageable and not a struggle to stick to.

LoadsToLose · 09/03/2024 10:58

I also have a dry mouth
but stomach / digestion all fine

That’s a huge loss in a short amount of time !How have the side effects been for you? I am hoping for a big starter loss to motivate me - it happened at slimming world and helped me stick at it (till I stopped 😂)

I've had virtually no side effects. I had a couple of instances of low blood sugar the week before last, but have learned that I need to eat something before I go out for a couple of hours.

I go up to 0.5 in a week or so, so we'll see how I feel then. I am a shortie, so I think that may be why 0.25 is having such a good effect.

I hope things go well for you, Mortigua! What I am finding is that I am not needing to use any willpower- I have just 'magically' turned into one of those people who isn't bothered about food and just sees it as fuel (although I do enjoy it when I have it).

Mortigua · 09/03/2024 11:38

thats even better ! So have you massively cut calories ? I am guessing you must have done ?
and thank you - hoping that now I have taken a full actual dose it will work. Certainly not hungry today yet!

Yes, but I am not counting them. To be honest, it's nice to not feel that I am on a diet, so I am not trying fasting or anything else. However, my dsily calorie intake must have plummeted! I had a huge issue with comfort eating before.

Mortigua · 09/03/2024 12:06

That’s amazing it’s just happened and hasn’t felt like an issue . I know what you mean just the freedom to not be thinking about it would be great .

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 09/03/2024 12:50

@Thebaldprimadonna Congrats Flowers

We're at the same point with the doses and I've lost 1st 2lb as of this morning. I think from memory I'm a couple of stones heavier than you though.

I still feel like a lot of mine is willpower and I certainly haven't lost my appetite. I'm definitely less interested in snacks and eating takeaways/fast food. Clearly I was eating a lot more of the bad stuff than I thought I was to have lost a large amount without much trying.

I had a takeaway during week 2 and still lost 4lb but I've only lost 2lb so far this week so hoping it speeds up towards the end of the week.

I've been reading for a while and decided to join. Ordered from Asda today so fingers crossed it gets approved. Does anyone know if Asda actually requires someone to sign for it or has the postman been able to sign and leave?

Yes, they do require a signature unfortunately. The parcel is too big for the letter box too.

Thanks. Guess I need to work out how to time the delivery for the one day a week I can be home.

ChristmasLightsLover · 09/03/2024 14:08

Afternoon! Going to go back and read the posts. Second injection here. Mounjarno (can't remember the spelling...)

Starting weight 124 - 126 KG
Week one weigh in 122.8 KG

I'm not hungry. I'm uncertain about what to eat. Eating more veg and protein. Less processed foods. Walked to the village and back twice today. Nervous that this could be a first week win and what a slow down looks like. Definitely going to start counselling to get my head around it all.

Symptoms. Headaches. Tiredness. Nausea. Cramping. But cracking on. Grateful to be able to pay for this treatment. And drinking as much water as I can around the nausea.

Keep going @MoreThanJustANumber - my weight gains and losses take a number of days to show up on the scales. And my weight varies hugely through the day and over the week.

ObsidianTree · 09/03/2024 14:14

Well done everyone that weighed recently. For big losses and small. I'm sure once we get to 5mg then things might start working better for those that don't feel much difference :)

@zaffa I think the side effects are typical as I have seen people on here mention having them also.
