I have decided to start with Mourjano. Have put an order in with Asda and should hopefully be delivered soon!

Anyone else going to give Mourjano a go?

@rainbowsandinfinitesparkles in both deliveries I've had, they've agreed the prescription around 9am and it has been despatched the following day.
ie: this week I ordered Tuesday, was agreed Wednesday, delivered Friday.

It took a few extra days for my first order as they took several days to review the photos and agree it.

They haven't sent me confirmation it's been despatched either time which they state they will do. The first I hear is from Royal Mail saying they're delivering that day.

Exitstrategist · 09/03/2024 14:48

Does anyone know if bolt will want more photos and weight loss when you order the 5mg?

I think one of the emails said they wouldn't need them for the second pen. It's pretty obvious that if your BMI was 31+ it won't be 25 after just 1 pen. At some point I imagine they will want to see more pictures and get your weight to ensure you can't keep taking it with a low BMI.

@Choux is right, I've just gone through to see what happens when I try to order (only did 2nd jab on Thurs) and it lets me pick a 5mg pen and go all the way through to the paypal payment page.

Did you order from Asda? I'm panicking a little as I submitted my photos last night, and I can see that it takes working hours to review so assuming they don't review over weekend (and they've said in their FAQ they don't dispatch over the weekend either) BUT I have to be in the office on Tuesday and Thursday and I don't want to miss my delivery! So I'm hoping they approve and dispatch Monday and it comes Wednesday

Do you get to choose delivery after the pics are uploaded / or do you know how long delivery takes?

FlappyFish · 09/03/2024 15:47

@zaffa it’s sent via Royal Mail 24 hour signed for. You can change the date of delivery on the Royal Mail website. However, it comes wrapped in wool insulation with two ice blocks. I’m not sure how long that would last, but bear it in mind as it has to be kept refrigerated to start.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 09/03/2024 16:21

@zaffa you can't choose when they dispatch it and they haven't told me when it's been despatched either so it's a bit of a lottery when it will turn up.
Both times mine has arrived a couple of days after the prescription is agreed.

It's wrapped in wool with 2 ice packs but I'm sure a couple of people on here have picked theirs up from the post office and it's been fine. I wonder if you can contact asda to see if they can despatch on the right day for you.

I put my first order in and submitted photos this morning and have had an email approving so I would assume they are approvig over the weekend

I have no feeling about food at all today. I felt dizzy so had to have something but struggled to find anything I felt like having and had half a cereal bar !
i need to make something more nutritious but the nausea is a bit morning sickness like unfortunately today. I don’t feel hungry despite having the physical sensations , very odd !

Femeia · 09/03/2024 17:04

Well done on the great losses so far!

2 weeks in and I feel no symptoms at all.

SW 212 lbs
CW 209 lbs

Not exactly a stunning loss but I've been away with work and out for a few meals so can't really complain. Still not convinced that it isn't willpower doing the work though.

I have 2 more weeks till I go to 5ml so hoping that will have more effect

SocksShmocks · 09/03/2024 17:36

FirstSpringSiskin · 09/03/2024 09:57

I read the in-box info to say that once you’ve done the first dose from the pen you can store at room temperature. So I’ve left mine in a drawer. Is that wrong?

I’ve done the same. It says once open you can keep at room temp.

Just had my approval email so very happy!
I was a little unnerved by the mention of acute pancreatitis as a side effect - does anyone know anyone who has had this?

EsotericMnemonic · 09/03/2024 19:08

@zaffa looking at the research, acute pancreatitis seems to be more of a risk
for diabetics taking Mounjaro, I guess because of how overworked the pancreas already is. For non- diabetics taking Zepbound (brand name for Mounjaro for obesity), the risk appeared to be no greater than for those taking a placebo https://medical.lilly.com/us/products/answers/what-is-the-incidence-of-pancreatitis-associated-with-zepbound-tirzepatide-209516

Thanks - that does put my mind more at risk. I did also read somewhere that there is no link with thyroid cancer (despite previous concerns) has anyone else seen that too?
I'm so excited to start, I think I'm scared that it's too good to be true that this drug could really help me!

ChristmasLightsLover · 09/03/2024 20:12

I need to entirely re educate myself around what a healthy diet looks and feels like. That said, I am conflicted. I just don't feel hungry. I feel that I should be eating. But I feel quite nauseous when I do, and bloated.

I have 9 stones to lose so it's not like I need to eat. But surely we should be eating something at regular points through the day?

Anyone else finding they just don't want to eat? I'm trying to keep fluids up to minimise the headaches.

LoadsToLose · 09/03/2024 20:18

A previous post suggests that when your BMI drops, you can no longer access the medication. Surely that’s not the case as I want to get into the healthy weight range and will need to taper off to maintain. For those who have tried similar medications, do they continue to prescribe at lower BMIs- for those of us who started with obese BMI (and no diabetes)? I’m a bit concerned otherwise.

Wonkypictureframe · 09/03/2024 20:19

Hello. I’m waiting for Asda to (hopefully) approve me. My photo was just from knee to neck but the rest of me isn’t particularly big!

I’m 5’4” and 13 stone 3, so BMI of over 30, and I’ve got arthritis in my knees and hips.

I’m going to give an injectable a go as I’ve reached menopause and the weight is just piling on. I’ve spent my whole life battling my weight and was managing to keep my BMI at around 27 but two stone has arrived and won’t go.

I’m not sure whether this is the right thing for me as I already don’t snack or eat very unhealthily but just calorie restriction is doing nothing and I figured the jabs give your body chemistry a bit of a shake up and that might help. I also am always the person eating the most in a group so my portion size is an issue.

Really impressed by some of the losses and the general sense that this is helping people feel in control of what they eat.

RunningAndSinging · 09/03/2024 20:21

Yes - as long as the starting BMI is over 30 it is fine to continue for maintenance. I spoke to a prescriber of Wegovy about that. I suspect they may try and get you to taper off if your weight was still dropping below 20 - 25 but that is actually unlikely anyway as most people will plateau before that.

Hello and welcome, it’s very friendly and supportive here! The medication lessens your appetite so you feel like eating less- it slows your digestion down. So for this to lead to weight loss, you need to be eating a calorie deficit of min 500 per day under you TDEE (you’ll find calculators online which tells you your TDEE- mine is generous at 2,100 because I’m tall and before perimenopause). The chemicals in themselves don’t burn fat - they just help you consistently eat less. Lots of us are using MFP to track calories

Thank you, that’s really helpful to know

I can see how some people might end up dangerously thin, I was quite shocked to see the effect of Ozempic on Sharon O in Celeb Big Brother

I think you are referring to my post. I have no idea how it works in practice. The pharmacy will want to keep making sales but will have a duty of care towards patients so I imagine they will ask for new pictures and weight in a few months. If my BMI is then 25 I doubt they will let me go up from 10 to 12.5mg. But they will probably sell me a 7.5 and then a 5 and then possibly 2.5 for several months as long as my BMI is not getting close to underweight.

I assume you taper back down when you are close to the weight you want rather just stop using it completely from one week to the next?

Thank you for the welcome! I know how the jab works and I probably worded things badly. I meant that my understanding is that it can help reduce insulin resistance as well as reduce appetite which I think is a big reason I hang on to weight. I’ll be interested to see whether it helps me lose weight as I am currently eating 1000 calories a day and the scales don’t move.

Happymoss · 09/03/2024 21:03

evening all, just had a quick scan on Reddit and a uk Mounjaro user has posted how to get that final dose out of the pen, apparently just a insulin needle through the plastic does the job and it’s basically a full dose, I’m going to order some advance of mine as too many people are saying they are throwing away valuable doses!

Updownleftandright · 09/03/2024 21:22

Hi Everyone. Reading this with interest. Can I just ask how overweight you need to be to get this? I'm not huge, but look stocky - big ass, belly fat and thighs. Probably 5ft 3in and about 10 and a half stone (at a guess). I'm not massively overweight and don't think this puts me in the obese range. I'm small frame and 10 years ago weight less than eight and a half stone and a comfortable 8, now I'm about a 14. Its the belly and back fat that gets me. I have some decent muscles underneath bit I just can't diet due to the hunger.

I've seen someone lose 2st with Ozempic and they look great. Only on it 4 months. I think I will probably just need it for 2 as I only want to lose 1 to 1.5 stones.

I have no will power and eat like a pig. i loooovvvvee food. Constantly hungry and always thinking about food. I lift weights and occasionally run, but this has just made me look like a brick with big tits, makes me even hungrier and I'm actually finding exercise harder than when I first started out a few years back due to weight creeping up.

Does this also affect sleep and your cognition?

I thought that might be the case. I will wait and see if my pen doesn't give the last dose and then decide what to do. I really don't want to waste it!
