I have decided to start with Mourjano. Have put an order in with Asda and should hopefully be delivered soon!

Anyone else going to give Mourjano a go?

I@R4ch402 thanks! How are you finding it so dad? How far into your journey etc are you?

NCfor24 · 08/03/2024 17:33

Just heard about this and so close to ordering! So Bolt at £159 is £40 a week. I spent £20 on a Chinese last night and have probably spent similar on wine this week too, so I suspect I can afford it despite the price making me hesitate!

I have about 3 - 4 stone to lose, I'm close to 14st and 5'2 though to be honest BMI would have me down at 8-9 stone I'm happy to get to a healthy maintainable weight.

Really encouraged by the successful starts & hoping to become one!

KeepingUndercover · 08/03/2024 17:58

I’ve just ordered some from MedExpress at £149.99, plus a couple of quid for postage. I’ve been debating whether to try something since they announced WeGovy but I’m finally taking the plunge. I do worry about long term maintenance, meanwhile I’m slowly gaining weight so maybe I’ll worry about that maintenance when I get there.

I weighed myself today at 120kg and I’m 5ft4 so definitely meeting the criteria. I really hope it works for me.

cloudchaos · 08/03/2024 18:15

I'm on day 1 of the second dose and I feel hungrier than I was after the first dose. Did anyone else find the same? Wondering if some of the effects last week were placebo?

1stTimeMummy2021 · 08/03/2024 18:50

@cloudchaos I definitely found that. I'm really hoping my third dose works better, I went from struggling to eat to struggling not to eat everything.

zaffa · 08/03/2024 18:55

I'm planning to do something like WW or slimming world alongside - does anyone have suggestions of which one is best? I heard there was a plan on one of them for if you were in injections but I can't find which one.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 08/03/2024 19:31

@cloudchaos On the first and second dose I was so hungry for the first 4 days, then it settled down and I lost a good amount both weeks. Now with the third dose I didn't have that hungry feeling immediately. I've never fully lost my appetite though like some on here.

I do have the cravings back a little and have been snacking on sweets :(

Beesbeesbeesbees · 08/03/2024 20:02

Just completed week 1 - 7lbs loss. I have never ever felt like this before. Like someone flicked a switch in my brain and now everything is calm and silent. My life was dominated by food and every second spent thinking about it. That is gone. I've been able to eat healthily and no binging. I just cant believe it. Starting weight 17 stone and 5 foot 6.

Weight watchers have a plan I almost went for but I decided I was happy enough calorie counting on MyFitnessPal instead.

SocksShmocks · 08/03/2024 20:26

So many posts since I last checked. It’s great there are so many of us.

I weighed this morning (end of week 1) and am down 2kg (4 lb). I’m weighing in kg because I’m less familiar with it and don’t have to see how high my weight is in stones. I know: pathetic!

RunningAndSinging · 08/03/2024 20:53

@SocksShmocks lol - that’s pretty much why I weigh in kg too - also my scales measure to the nearest 100g which is much more detailed than 1/2 lb. The down side is when you get a good loss and it is a bit meaningless until you translate into lb.

I am doing the WW one. It is a bit weird as it is based on eating enough protein, fruit and vegetables and drinking enough water when you don’t feel hungry and also exercising. There are no limits on unhealthy food. I am still hungry so it feels a bit irrelevant at the moment. It does focus the mind a bit and they run online groups. I guess it is good to have some advice about what to eat.

I used to like the accountability of an in person SW group. Don’t feel like I have time to go to one at the moment and also would feel that I was cheating with the Mounjaro.

zaffa · 08/03/2024 21:24

Thanks @RunningAndSinging - how do I find it? Is it just one of the normal plans?

EsotericMnemonic · 08/03/2024 21:51

Thanks for all your thoughts on whether to tell others. I’ve got a long way to go before my weight loss will be noticeable so I’ll have a think.
@zaffa this one? https://www.weightwatchers.com/uk/how-it-works/glp-1-programme

Introducing new GLP-1 Programme

Introducing our NEW lifestyle programme designed for the unique nutritional and behavioural needs of people taking GLP-1 medications.

https://www.weightwatchers.com/uk/how-it-works/glp-1-programme

RunningAndSinging · 08/03/2024 22:22

Yes that is it. I had to download the app to see it properly and switch over to it.

SocksShmocks · 08/03/2024 22:45

If you Boots for the medication they have a discount on the WW GLP-1 programme. Although it looks like it would still be cheaper to use Bolt and pay full price for WW.

I’m not following any kind of plan at the moment.

zaffa · 08/03/2024 23:10

Thanks all. Has anyone ordered from Asda before - do you know whether they send out guidance etc about what to eat and how to inject?
I've got so many questions I probably should have answered before I ordered!
Also, I uploaded my pics to asda this evening - does anyone know how long they take to approve? Has anyone ever been rejected for having BMI too high?

FirstSpringSiskin · 08/03/2024 23:50

Did my first dose tonight. Waiting for any side effects and wondering how I’ll feel by tomorrow evening when MIL will undoubtedly give us huge platefuls at dinner!

Lots of very positive accounts here so I’m really optimistic about feeling better in myself by summer. It’s great to be taking this journey with others.

ShalommJackie · 09/03/2024 05:01

Is it roughly 1 pen per month? Also how do you know if/when to increase dosage?

RunningAndSinging · 09/03/2024 06:34

ShalommJackie · 09/03/2024 05:01

A pen lasts for four weeks. You go up a dose every four weeks unless the current dose is working well enough or the side effects are not settling down.

Exitstrategist · 09/03/2024 06:38

I’m not telling anyone! The only exception would be if someone asks and I genuinely think they could benefit from being on it themselves

FlappyFish · 09/03/2024 06:52

@zaffa instructions with the pen confirm how to inject and store. Asda have a support sheet available online and the approved my order within a few hours of having the photos. i don’t know if it being the weekend will change that.

For an actual diet to follow? I’m not. I know oodles about dieting and my problem was generally deprivation and binging. 😂 And portion sizes. It is hard to describe the feeling it gives you other than witchcraft. I don’t feel hungry at all and I have to make myself eat. When I do it is veg and protein heavy. I think if I had a specific diet to follow I’d struggle as I honestly have no interest in food. Sugar cravings gone etc.

good luck on your journey and keep posting, I love this thread and the community we have.

ObsidianTree · 09/03/2024 07:53

I'm another 3lbs off this week.
So since starting murnjaro that's 6lbs off in 2 weeks. Happy with that progress and glad I got something off this week.

SW: 16.3lbs murnjaro
CW: 15st 11lbs

Last night I had some side effects from 3rd jab. Was very thirsty and I couldn't get warm. Had to put fluffy PJ bottoms and my oodie on to get warm enough to sleep. Even then I was awake until like 2am freezing! My fitbit tells me I had 3 hrs sleep! At least it's Saturday!

Hope everyone is doing well :)

Good consistent loss @ObsidianTree.

I had a delayed weigh in due to a work conference, and have stayed the same for week two.

I can't complain as did have a big loss first week.

Onto week 3!

I did order my next pen at 5ml yesterday, as have felt quite hungry this week.

ObsidianTree · 09/03/2024 08:19

Thanks @NextPrimeMinister

I think the 5mg will be more effective for most as that dose is what research into % loss was based from.
