I have decided to start with Mourjano. Have put an order in with Asda and should hopefully be delivered soon!

Anyone else going to give Mourjano a go?

Interesting reading all the different results people are getting.

I took my first dose last Saturday and haven't really noticed any difference. I've been eating less but only because it seems a waste if I keep eating when I'm paying for the injection! Smile I could always stick to a diet for the first week anyway, but I hope I feel some kind of effect after the next dose.

Only side effect was a slightly dry mouth and horrible taste when I wake up.

I am probably bigger than most of you on this thread so maybe the higher dose is needed. I bought the two pen set from Bolt so at least I'll be able to see if it makes a difference when I go up to 5mg.

Choux · 07/03/2024 21:46

Day 2 of Dose 1. Today has been a revelation. I've eaten much less and been much less hungry. Normally about 4pm I start getting hungry and thinking about snacks and dinner. Today - despite only having soup with about a dozen croutons for lunch so less than normal - I didn't get hunger pangs at 4pm.

On my way home from work I went to the supermarket and had no problem buying only healthy things. I got home and finally ate dinner - smoked mackerel salad - at 8.30pm.

I track my food, steps and calories burnt. Today I am 2,200 calories burned and 1,000 calories eaten. Long may this continue!

Wineninja123 · 07/03/2024 21:57

I think I’ve wasted a dose!!!!🤔😬

I did my first injection yesterday and primed the pen but I turned it to 1 not the thick line like in the you tube video. Loads of liquid spurted out! What a waste.

I injected yesterday afternoon and just been feeling nauseous and tired, but not much appetite and not craving junk food - feels good not to think about food and be snacking all day!

1stTimeMummy2021 · 07/03/2024 22:38

I've fallen off the wagon the last couple days, depression had a hold of me and I'm a comfort eater. Getting back on the horse but thinking of not weighing myself so often, don't want to get more down.

RunningAndSinging · 07/03/2024 23:13

I have my 5 mg pen from Bolt - thanks to everyone on this thread for recommending them. It came with a sharps bin (first one since my first Ozempic order back in August 2022) and some needles and swabs (unlike Boots). Also the offer of a phone call to discuss the treatment. Not sure whether or not to do that but it’s nice to have the option and potentially someone taking an interest in how it is going. To be fair to Boots they do have lots of online resources and a Weight Watchers discount.

I am a bit taken aback that the Maurjano pen doesn’t come with needles in the box - I guess that is a point for Wegovy. I am reserving judgement on which is the better drug until I have increased my dose and given it some more time.

Wednesday night I think i experienced the side effects of overeating (although not to usual standards). I woke up at midnight with stomach pains which led to a good half hour of diarrhea and those massive burps you do when about to vomit, but without actually doing so. Once 'cleared out', stomach ache went and felt ok again. I'm assuming that's the cause, myself and DH had the same sausages and he was fine

Exitstrategist · 08/03/2024 06:33

Week 1 done and almost 4 pounds lost. Very happy! Have inadvertently fallen into very low carbs which I think is helping.

cloudchaos · 08/03/2024 06:59

Just weighed in after my first week and down 4lbs too. Can't believe it!

Exitstrategist · 08/03/2024 07:25

A really unexpected side effect is that as I’m not really hungry and don’t fancy much it’s allowing me to make seriously good choices so for example I am now eating a nectarine with yoghurt for breakfast. Yesterday I skipped chips with lunch and loaded up on veg. I am feeling so much better for lowering my constant bread, pasta, cake intake. Now to tackle the unfortunate wine habit….

Holly2285 · 08/03/2024 07:31

Just weighed in after 1st week and have lost 4lbs.

flouncymcflouncerson · 08/03/2024 08:00

Lots of good losses here :)

I haven’t noticed anything kicking in as yet and did manage to eat fairly normally for me yesterday.

I haven’t been calorie counting but probably should be.

FlappyFish · 08/03/2024 09:00

My official loss as of today is technically a 1lb gain. 😂 but yesterday I was down to 13.4. Today back to 13.7. I can’t go to the toilet at all. Hence that gain. Honestly.

I’m not going to sweat it and use 13.4. It’s just poop gain. So that means

SW 14.1
CW: 13.4 on week 3 weigh in

FlappyFish · 08/03/2024 09:08

This is the pen after 4 doses.

Even though there is Mounjaro left in there the pen is dead. You can’t prime it further.

What! That's so upsetting! What a waste 😭 can't believe it has to be wasted. Wonder why that is

This seems similar to me after my first weigh in where I'd lost 9lb and it's now gone up to 6lb?! I'm telling myself it was initial water weight and the scales will start going down again soon though.

It is that time of the month and I was 12 days late for some reason?!

I'm having a calorie deficit of 1200-1500 a day at least so I'm assuming the scales will start to show this soon 😔

R4ch402 · 08/03/2024 09:28

Day 5 of my first dose and my hunger pangs are definitely coming back. Going to weigh in tomorrow morning, I'm so anxious

@Exitstrategist that’s the main benefit I’m finding too (now I’m not nauseous). When out for dinner last night I chose a chicken salad rather than my usual fat and carb laden calorie fest.

Yes, it's the same here.
I find that I'm really not interested in food so having a salad+protein does the same job as whatever junk I would have eaten previously.
I guess this must be what thin people mean when they say they just see food as fuel. I've never felt like this before in my life, it's amazing.

I'm guessing there's a certain amount in there for when you prime the pen each time (which I forgot to do this time!)

TitsInAbsentia · 08/03/2024 09:57

3lb off on my first week. Now of course I would have liked more (there was some alcohol over the weekend....a fair bit unfortunately, so I'm sure that affected things) but I'm just happy that it's already dialled down the food chatter!

I am having to really concentrate on getting my protein intake up - I know from experience inadequate protein intake for me equals hair loss! How do I know? I am a failed gastric sleever. I lost 5 stone was doing really well, and then things just slipped. I never got to my target weight or a 'normal' bmi because unfortunately my food demons started creeping back in. So hoping this will help me get back on track, remind me that I do not need junk and I really can do without quite so much wine.

Onwards!

EsotericMnemonic · 08/03/2024 10:01

Can I ask if people are telling those around them that they’re taking Mounjaro? I’m caught between being very open with people to emphasise how difficult it is to lose weight and keeping it quiet because of the judgement (as seen on the ‘Should I buy Ozempic?’ thread). I think it’s important to be honest so that people who are struggling to lose weight don’t continue to view it as a personal failure. However, some of the comments on that thread are so ignorant, ‘Just eat well and exercise’. Well yes, but that’s what the drugs allow you to do. I’m still eating well, I’ll still need to exercise. Mounjaro is giving me the ability to do that. What are people’s thoughts?

EsotericMnemonic · 08/03/2024 10:02

@TitsInAbsentia do you use protein powder? I’m just about to order some to add to porridge, make pancakes with etc.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 08/03/2024 10:07

@EsotericMnemonic I'm not telling many people as yet. My DP knows, as does my mum but other than that I've told 2 people I work with who also have issues with weight loss as we talk diets all the time.

I won't tell others until it's obvious that I've lost a lot of weight in a short time and there's not really any other reason as to how I could have done it.

I do have some but always forget to use it! I've got a strawberry one that I mix in with plain greek yogurt so that really bumps up the protein. For work I pick up a protein drink from lidl. But mostly upping my intake of chicken and fish, and of course vegetables to keep things 'moving'!

April88 · 08/03/2024 10:19

The food noise disappearing has been amazing for me. Honestly I normally constantly think about what I’m going to eat and it’s just gone.

I haven’t told anyone (not even my husband). I feel like they’d tell me not to, as I’ve lost 2 stone already recently so they’d say I don’t need it and worry about the side effects.

I’ve still got 4 stone to lose to be a healthy weight, feel like this will help me get there.
