I have decided to start with Mourjano. Have put an order in with Asda and should hopefully be delivered soon!

Anyone else going to give Mourjano a go?

So … funny story. I think I gave myself a very minimal dose if that last week - maybe the prime? I have just done it properly for the first time and was scared at how much winding out it took to get to -1 , had no idea about that so obviously hadn’t read properly last week.
The good news is that the placebo effect had me lose 2 pounds so I am hopeful for the real thing 😂

Lol that's great. Also means you probably will have 3 more doses left in the pen!

So last night I could barely sleep. I’ve been sick the last couple of weeks with an awful cold which is now in my sinuses. I think I could feel the effects of my first dose though. I don’t feel overly hungry, just a slight hunger. I did have to eat this morning as felt a bit light headed so had some Greek yoghurt, nuts, seeds and blueberries. But I’m now feeling very tired and cold which is probably a combination of no sleep and illness, rather than the drug but interested to hear if anyone else had similar.

FlappyFish · 07/03/2024 11:44

I think a lot of us thought we did or did actually do that with our first dose. Doh!

@SpacePatch I have been super cold since taking it. In one of my random ramblings on this thread I thought it was to do with the fact I’m making my body work for things and so it’s pulling blood centrally. My hands and feet are just frozen all the time. I don’t have any illness, but that will never help. Hope you feel better soon.

wizzywig · 07/03/2024 12:05

Started today! And the amount of turning made me wonder if I was doing it wrong! I feel no different 1 hour in....

Mortigua · 07/03/2024 12:06

Yes that’s true , at least I’ve got 3 more out of it 🤪 What a plonker though and all the side effects I thought I had too including diarrhoea ! Maybe that was from the tiny bit I did get so goodness knows what a full dose will do!

AFreshCleanStart · 07/03/2024 12:11

I just took my 4th dose, but the pen wouldn't reach 1. I injected what it would allow but there was still a good amount in the pen (I know from my IVF days they're usually overfilled, but it literally wouldn't let me dial it up) Has anyone else experienced this?

LoadsToLose · 07/03/2024 12:14

That’s interesting, I’m feeling the cold too. It was noticeable at the hospital this week (taking my child) usually I’m boiling hot in hospital - even in the winter- but this time kept my coat on.

Yes you have to wind the pen a LOT to load the dose. It feels like you’re doing something wrong, but just keep an eye on the window and stop when it shows a 1.

I’m 2 days post second injection and don’t feel any side effects (my body ached on the first dose for days) but this could be down to the daily magnesium supplement I started taking on Sunday.

Hunger wise, I’m finding it easy to keep within my daily calorie allowance (1,450). I’m still feeling hunger/food cravings but it’s not as all consuming as before so I can’t distract myself quite easily. I feel like it might be me doing this though- could be a very expensive placebo!

ObsidianTree · 07/03/2024 12:24

I have definitely been feeling colder for sure.

@AFreshCleanStart I don't think anyone on here has got up to 4th dose yet. Can you take a pic of pen and post on here? And we can try and tell if it's empty. Maybe some was wasted each time you primed the pen?

So I went upstairs yesterday to take my first dose- but there was no needles?
i had been to the pharmacist yesterday who had said they were inside the box but they weren’t and reading through the box it doesn’t look like they do come with them?
He is hoping to drop them off later but I was a bit gutted as I was all ready.
can anyone give me an idiots guide to how to attach the needles and sort the dose? I’m not very practical and though I have read the instructions i don’t think that’s how I learn and whole lack of needles threw me.

MapleSpice · 07/03/2024 14:24

I took my second dose today! Definitely felt the effects wearing off yesterday and Tuesday, I was hungry for the first time and had to rely on my willpower to not crack and start snacking. Hoping it kicks in fast!
I've only been managing one meal a day in the evening, I just have had zero appetite but I'm not active at all so it probably balances out. We've started daily walks this week so hoping that improves my fitness. Averaging around 800-1000 cals including my two machine coffees Grin

Height - 5 foot 10 inches
Starting weight 29th Feb - 16stone 6lbs
Current weight after week one - 15stone 9lbs

Absolutely over the moon with the results so far. I've never felt as free from sugar cravings and constant thoughts about food as I have this week, I genuinely feel like a new person.

EsotericMnemonic · 07/03/2024 14:24

Very interesting re feeling cold, I’ve been freezing, which is most unlike me. Very tired too. Something I’ve been reading about are the different side effects for diabetics (who the drug is designed for) and non-diabetics. Apparently Mounjaro (for diabetics) doesn’t have tiredness listed as a side effect, whereas Zepbound (brand name for tirzepatide in the US for weight loss use) does. I guess it’s doing something slightly different to body around blood sugars etc?

EsotericMnemonic · 07/03/2024 14:26

@MapleSpice an 11lb loss??!! You must be ecstatic!! 🎉

spamm · 07/03/2024 14:32

@EsotericMnemonic - that is interesting. I am on Mounjaro mainly to try and get my diabetes under control and have had some minor side effects, like being cold, nausea and minor constipation. But not tiredness. So there may be some truth to that. I am waiting to take new tests in April to see how it affects my blood sugars.

@MapleSpice - well done! That is amazing.

MapleSpice · 07/03/2024 14:41

@spamm @EsotericMnemonic thanks both, I'm really chuffed but my diet was truly horrific. I'm 32 and have always had the worst attitude to food and sweets, even when I've been so unhappy with my weight I couldn't fight the cravings. It's been such a massive comfort this week not having to keep fighting.

I'd never heard of Mounjaro before this thread, beyond grateful for this little thread!

LoadsToLose · 07/03/2024 15:09

I’m very happy with feeling cold as a side effect, I’m normally a sweaty mess and it’s quite liberating. I can just put a jumper on.

I’m going to be THAT person asking to turn the aircon off in the office aren’t I?

My needles were delivered in a separate box and I got 7 for a 4 week course. Same with order 2. If you search my name on the thread I posted a how to inject as so many of us were utterly confused with the priming etc. I hope you get your needles soon!

EsotericMnemonic · 07/03/2024 16:44

@NewJobNewMeNewLife I found this video quite helpful, although the instructions don’t tell you to pinch your skin as the dr in the video does.

Amazing result @MapleSpice! Such a great first week!

I hear you about the hunger kicking in at end of the week. Today I am craving a lot as usual. Taking my next dose tomorrow. Will take it before I go to work in the hope it kicks in by evening so I don't eat too much Friday night!

ObsidianTree · 07/03/2024 18:10

Ok I was a bit naughty and took my 3rd dose today instead of tomorrow. After my dose I noticed there is still more than a notch left. So does that mean it has more than a dose left?

I am worried I did it wrong as when I was doing it my cat decided that was the perfect time to jump on my lap and investigate the murnjaro pen! So maybe I was distracted and did it wrong!

What does peoples pens look like after 3rd dose?

This is my pen after 3 doses.

I just realised this was after your 3rd dose not your 2nd! When you take your 4th dose, let us know if there was any left!

Is it normal to have a dry mouth?

Is it normal to have a dry mouth?

Totally. I found myself having 3-4 or so litres a day the first week. It's dropped to about 3-3.5 this second week.

NewJobNewMeNewLife · 07/03/2024 20:00

Got my needles and done it. Really easy but think the instructions make it sound more complicated than it is…
Have my fingers crossed that it has some effect soon.

is everyone who is on it calorie counting?

I have the same issue. Could drink gallons just to get rid of the dry mouth
