I have decided to start with Mourjano. Have put an order in with Asda and should hopefully be delivered soon!

Anyone else going to give Mourjano a go?

First weight in and down 1.7kg. I did my order through Asda but was thinking of changing to Bolt if it's cheaper, has anyone else changed provider?

I haven't but was thinking about it. But will probably stick to asda as it seems easy enough. Also will Bolt give the higher dose etc?

I took my 2nd jab on Friday and am not feeling hungry today. Have decided to try and do some fasting and take advantage of this lack of hunger. I need to look into intermittent fasting as I've not done it before.

I have lost and re gained the same pound or two a few times but then I have had my usual wine all weekend so only my food was less . I can see that I look less puffy though especially in my face so feel like it should show more on the scales !
Today I am starving! First time since the injection which was Thursday that I feel a bit less control .

ObsidianTree · 04/03/2024 10:25

Ok done a quick read and think I'll try fasting for 16hrs. So eat between 11am and 7pm or 12 noon to 8pm. Which should be easy enough as it's just skipping breakfast.

Only problem is, I like to drink coffee and tea with milk, so will probably fast but still have some milk. Don't know if they defeats the purpose!

Anyone have any advice or knowledge on fasting?

Hi all. Did my first injection Thursday evening. Have definitely been eating less but also can eat, if you know what I mean. Will be interesting to see if appetite changes when the next injection is due. No real side effects yet. I’ll weigh myself on Friday morning (1 week).

Pretty sure fasting means no milk in drinks. So black coffee or tea.

Not that I’m an expert but that’s what I’ve read.

Yes you're right. I guess I need to have tea/coffee black to fast properly. Will give that a go tomorrow then!

Yes I know what you mean. Initially I wasn't hungry but was aware of meal times and felt like eating. I'd eat and would feel fuller faster, but still wanted food.

Am up to my 2nd dose now and feel like eating less than last week. Still thinking about mealtimes tho. Guess that's lasting habits from thinking about food a lot before medication!

You can get powder you can add to coffee that doesn’t mess with a fast and tastes creamy , it has collagen in so is good for you . I will see if I can find it . Mind you it’s another cost!
I was going to ask about fasting as I try to do 16 8 but wondered if it would be ok on this (was thinking of this with the fast 800) just wondering re blood sugar as I felt quite sick on Ozempic if I didn’t eat little bits regularly! So far no such side effects though so might be ok.
I cannot stop thinking about food today 😩it’s like it’s just stopped working . Thursday feels a long way off still . Hopefully just a blip and I’m going to drink loads of water .

I have been taking vitabotics magnesium tablets since Saturday and have seen overnight improvement from aching muscles and sore hip- which has been my only side effect since the injection.

This side effect could have been coincidence of course, but it did come on sudden 3 hours after the injection.

I also don’t feel massively hungry but am ready to eat at mealtimes and enjoying my food. I went to an Indian restaurant this weekend for someone’s birthday, ordered tandoori chicken with a vegetable side and could only eat half of it. Also had one poppadom. Calories for the day ended up at 1,800 (I drank a fair amount of wine as it was a big celebration) which isn’t much of a calorie deficit (my EDDE is 2100).

I dread to think what I’d ordinarily eat when eating out - probably 4,000 calories with a creamy curry/rice/peshwari naan which I’d eat all of! That’s partly why I’m so fat- I just never felt full in these situations while people around me asked for doggy bags. It’s like my eating off switch is faulty. My family noticed last night and I just said I’m watching my calories. I’m not telling anyone besides my OH.

Sorry TDEE not EDDE!

Hi all
Wednesday will be a week I started Mounjaro.i think it is just kicking in today. This may be due to the fact that I also started some multivitamin, Q10 and some energy tabs at the same time. Dingbat ! Anyway il hopefully I will see a weight drop after my weigh in on Wednesday.

@ObsidianTree I use this to 'not break my fast' in tea and coffee. You can also add in the MCT oil too. You do need to whizz it up with a milk frother as it can be lumpy otherwise. Davinia Taylor on instagram has loads of vids as to how she uses it all. I'm sure there are loads of other products but I use quite a lot of the WillPowders stuff and am happy with it and Davinia is very interesting to follow as she explores all sorts regarding diet etc.

Ah thanks! I'll have a look if I hate black tea and coffee!

@ObsidianTree Yeah, talked to DH about it and think I'm going to stick with Asda. I'm in an online fitness and nutrition group and listened to a talk by the nutritionalist last week about fasts. Unfortunately the study data is all on men but she went through all the different fasts and the only one she would recommend for women was the 16 8, she did say to start by doing a 12 12 though and see how that goes. She said it only works if you have a calorie deficit, there is nothing special about fasting. If you can have a calorie deficit and eat normally it will give you the same results but if you find you struggle with eating too much reducing our food window can help, but only if you have that deficit. She also said having milk in tea and coffee does break the fast, black only I'm afraid. Good luck.

Hi everyone, I took my second injection last night, same day and time as last week, but after my first injection I didn't feel hungry at all for the next three days, now though I feel really hungry, anyone else experienced something similar?

ObsidianTree · 04/03/2024 16:57

Thanks for the info @1stTimeMummy2021 . I will have my tea and coffee black and see how it goes.

Re second jab, I think it takes a few days to kick in. I took my 2nd on Friday evening and today I am not feeling hungry at all. So hopefully it will kick in soon

Are you a peppermint tea fan? I used to habitually drink coffee (6-10 espressos worth a day). I'm now having 1-2 coffees at most and about 2 litres of peppermint tea 🫣

It seems to be staving off the cravings for something warm and keeping the dry mouth at bay.

ObsidianTree · 04/03/2024 17:53

@Scalessayeek that's a good shout. I usually just drink normal tea but have loads of fruit teas / peppermint/green teas. So will give those a go when fasting

Is it advised to take vitamins whilst on the injection?

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 04/03/2024 19:10

Ok, I might have done my first dose wrong on Saturday. I've had saxenda in the past and that was so obvious. This time I rushed instructions, thought it was right but I haven't had much appetite reduction. I don't think I turned it far enough reading this thread. I've chucked the instructions- idiot. Does anyone have a photo of them or seen a video with the process?

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 04/03/2024 19:20

@NaturalBlondeYeahRight These are the bits that tell you what you need to inject.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 04/03/2024 19:21

@NaturalBlondeYeahRight Basically you need to have turned it all the way to 1 to get the full dose. It's quite a lot of turning to get it there.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 04/03/2024 19:36

Thanks @PissedOffNeighbour22
I definitely didn't turn it far enough to '1' oh well, I'll do it properly next time. What a wally. It seemed too far around at the time.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 04/03/2024 21:22

Oh no @NaturalBlondeYeahRight. Hopefully you'll get a better result with your next dose.

It's taken me around 4 days to notice a difference to appetite both weeks I've injected so you might still get some benefit from it.
