I have decided to start with Mourjano. Have put an order in with Asda and should hopefully be delivered soon!

Anyone else going to give Mourjano a go?

@cloudchaos with three large mugs of tea that's almost 2 litres of liquid over a short period. I think many people would feel uncomfortable after that as their stomach is entirely full of liquid. A bit like a water balloon.

Lying down shortly afterwards could let some of the liquid flow back up your oesophagus if your oesophageal sphincter is not super tight. That's effectively reflux.

It's probably better to consume your liquids more evenly across the whole day. Plus how many times did you need to get up to pee in the night???

cloudchaos · 03/03/2024 09:15

Thanks @Choux and others, you made me laugh. I'm a right worrier but maybe I will lay off the additional hydration and see if I get the bad constipation before going into overtreatment overdrive next time 😂

I really want this to work and so far I'm so surprised as how I'm choosing to make healthier choices, my evening snack would never have been an apple a week ago!

stealtheatingtunnocks · 03/03/2024 09:40

I’m only weighing weekly but I noticed my hands are less puffy and my ankles emerged, so I stood on the scales and I’m down 4lb on week 2. I suspect part is the diahorrea I’ve had after last week’s constipation. But I have hope, and that is a new feeling.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 03/03/2024 09:43

How do you know to go up to 5mg?

I can’t tell from what I’ve read, some people seem to take 10mg, some stick at 2.5mg.

I want to lose 2lb a week, if I do it too fast I’ll get loose skin. I need lifestyle change so I need to up my exercise as I drop weight.

I’ve got 70lb to shift so a year+ is realistic.

ObsidianTree · 03/03/2024 10:04

@stealtheatingtunnocks I think it depends on how you feel on it. I haven't felt that 2.5mg has had as much effects on me as others. I.e. the not feeling like food. So I will definitely be going up to 5mg. So I guess it depends how effective you feel the 2.5mg is. But I would still go up to at least 5mg as 2.5mg might be a starting dose

Me too! I was just explaining how I feel to an old friend and almost cried (in a happy way) 😊

Mounjaro is available in various doses: 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg. You need to assess your side effects against how much it suppresses your appetite and the speed of the weight loss to find the top dose you need or want.

I'd like to lose weight fast but don't want loose skin. I also don't want to kill my appetite completely as I want to still be able to enjoy social meals with family and friends. Each month I'll decide if I want to stick on the dose I'm on or go up another 2.5mg.

I imagine that the pharmacy may also ask for your weight loss numbers and new photos to show they are monitoring your progress and not letting you lose too much weight or do it too fast. Whether they will refuse to prescribe to someone who gets to a BMI of 25 I don't know. They may make you come down to a lower dose.

Sore throat and slightly rough voice this morning and now I’m convinced something is wrong. Questioning if the potential risks are worth it, even if just for the worry factor

(am 6lb down now and not feeling deprived, which is the key difference)

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 03/03/2024 12:20

Over halfway through week 2 now and I've had no losses since the second injection so I'm feeling a little dejected (I've actually put a pound on 😓).

DP has been at work all weekend so no luck on getting him to find the cross trainer in the outbuilding and move it to the bedroom. Can't do much exercise at the moment as I have a bad back but I need to start doing something.

Femeia · 03/03/2024 13:11

@PissedOffNeighbour22 I get your frustration. Yesterday I did injection 2 and no dampening of appetite at all. Went out for dinner with friends and was able and willing to eat well. Today I am so hungry.
Maybe I just need to get through the 4 weeks at 2.5 and hope that the 5 dose has an effect.

NextPrimeMinister · 03/03/2024 13:44

@PissedOffNeighbour22 @Femeia

I started week 2 on Friday, and am just as hungry as I was by the end of week 1. I don't feel 'topped up' by the 2nd injection as I had hoped.

I think last week's loss was driven by nausea, which now it has cleared up, it letting the hunger creep back. I'm having to use willpower this week so far, and on the first week I didn't. I had thought I could have continued on 2.5 but now think I'll definitely need to move up to 5.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 03/03/2024 14:30

@NextPrimeMinister I was the opposite - I started the first week hungry for 4 days and then it seemed to kick in. But as soon as I took the second dose I was starving again.

My willpower has failed today and I've had 2 snacks (bag of crisps and a Madeleine). That's a lot less than I'd usually have had by now though.

Can't wait to get on the higher dose 😄

ChristmasLightsLover · 03/03/2024 17:15

Can I join you all please?

I did my first injection with Mourjono yesterday.

I'm starting out at somewhere between 126 and 123 kg. I am 5 foot 4 inches. My weight varies day by day.

I'm intending to start counselling soon - I'm very much an emotional eater.

Interested to see where we all get to :))

R4ch402 · 03/03/2024 17:43

Did my first injection at midday today. I have extreme thirst so drinking a lot of water. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this.

ThisLemonBiscuit · 03/03/2024 17:52

Choux · 29/02/2024 21:29

From the places suggested here it seems Bolt pharmacy is the cheapest. £159 for the 2.5mg or you can get a starter pack of 2.5mg and 5mg for £329.

Thank you for recommending this, ordered on Fri and got my delivery Saturday :)
Took my first dose this morning, so far so good!

I've had a dry mouth and been very thirsty within an hour of each injection. Its lasted a couple of days for the thirst to go

NextPrimeMinister · 03/03/2024 19:05

Although hungrier than last week, I can report I don't have a sweet tooth anymore.

Hope that stays away as that, and portion size is my downfall.

wizzywig · 03/03/2024 19:34

Its a once a week jab isn't it?

NextPrimeMinister · 03/03/2024 20:19

@wizzywig , yes and you buy 4 weeks worth at once, although some pharmacies sell a set of 2.5 and 5 in a bundle.

wizzywig · 03/03/2024 20:31

Thanks @NextPrimeMinister got my first one coming this week.

MapleSpice · 03/03/2024 20:53

I have a question - I got my first 2.5mg needle from Asda on Thursday, when do I need to order the next one? I don't want to leave it too late and it not come in time, but if I order it now will they approve it? It's working so well for me already and I don't want to leave it too late!

FlappyFish · 03/03/2024 22:33

I think with Asda they make you wait 10 days to reorder. I ordered my 5mg when it came into stock on Friday, which was when I took my third jab. It was approved really quickly and delivered Saturday.

1stTimeMummy2021 · 04/03/2024 07:15

First weight in and down 1.7kg. I did my order through Asda but was thinking of changing to Bolt if it's cheaper, has anyone else changed provider?

Ah fab, thank you so much!

R4ch402 · 04/03/2024 08:23

My first night after taking my first dose and I had quite a restless night. Waking almost every hour with very slight stomach cramps and the urge to do a number 2 but nothing coming out. Been up 4 hours now and havent eaten anything and not quite hungry, so will just ride this out and see how long I can go before feeling hungry.
