I have decided to start with Mourjano. Have put an order in with Asda and should hopefully be delivered soon!

Anyone else going to give Mourjano a go?

Just ordered my first dose from Pharmacy2U. It allowed me to pick the 5mg one so I chose that but now I'm worried that I should've picked the 2.5mg.
I am currently 18.6st so need to lose a lot. Excited and worried at the same time. I plan to stick to a low carb diet plan and hope this helps with my portion control and blocking out the need to snack.
Does anyone know how long Pharmacy2U take to dispatch? And should I have ordered needles separately?

Quick update:

pharmacy2u cancelled my 5mg order and told me to order the 2.5mg. I’ve had an email saying my order has been dispatched so I’m super excited for it to arrive.

@FlappyFish I feel absolutely fine. I think I'm just very receptive to it. I get the benefit within 2 hours of the injection.

I'm eating a third of my usual meals
No takeaway
No sweets, biscuits, crisps etc

None of the above has been an effort or choice, I've genuinely not wanted to eat any of the things cut out.

MJ makes me see food as fuel only.

This is my experience so far too. Injection two tomorrow and it's only today that I've felt like having something sweet and a milky way with my coffee hit the spot. Usually it would be at least a full chocolate bar/bag of maltesers or the like.
I've actually also not been as obsessed with weighing the constant thoughts of food and weight have abated- I feel like its making me think and act more like a naturally thin person if that makes sense.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 01/03/2024 18:54

@PeachPoster I'm the same but I'm eating so much less that it's still a huge positive for me.
I'd be very surprised if I'm not pre-diabetic so I want to make a positive change. I have a relative who has just reversed her pre-diabetes diagnosis with diet and exercise and she's 75.

Having said that, I'm very close to giving in and ordering a takeaway tonight. A small portion of course. DP thinks it will ruin all my hard work 😕

wizzywig · 01/03/2024 18:57

Hi all. Just checking your provider has let you know that if you are on tje contraceptive pill/ hormonal contraceptive to back it up with condom or diaphragm

NextPrimeMinister · 01/03/2024 18:59

@MuthaHubbard that's exactly when I feel like too. I'm really trying to remember this mindest of thin person eating, to help me when I come off.

I'm in danger of becoming one of those people who 'forgot to eat'.

Morning all,

I did my weigh in today and since starting murnjaro a week ago I've lost 3lb. I got my ttm on Thursday so that's probably had an effect. Would have liked more but it's still a loss. I was on wegovy for 2 weeks and only lost 3lbs so murnjaro is having more of an effect

Generally I have been feeling less hungry but still craving sweet things so hoping as I progress the higher dose will have more of an effect.

I have been sticking to between 1200-1500 kcals a day.

I have taken my 2nd dose and noticed 3 notches left on the pen, has anyone else noticed this? Wondering if there zmight still be 3 more doses left in the pen!

Keto SW 17.6lbs
Wegovy start weight 16st 6lbs
Murnjaro start weight 16st 3lbs
CW 16st

Height
5'8

@ObsidianTree Well done on the loss. Yes, TTOM has such an impact. 5lbs of water gain each month without fail in my case and it has destroyed so many diets. I thought that on the pens too. I will post a photo of mine in a bit when I can retrieve the pen from the hiding place 😅

It's definitely nice that the meds are counteracting the usual annoyance of ttm that makes us decide to eat everything!

Have you got 2 or 1 more doses to go on the pen? Would be interesting if you have 2 notches left and 1 dose to go.

If there is an extra dose, I'll probably do both doses (5mg) for my last dose. Hope there is!

Now that I'm looking at it, I don't think the notches means there is 3 doses left

Weekly weigh in done - week 1 and -4lb loss

SW 229 pounds
CW 225

The only side effects I’ve had are cramps, sore muscles (especially hip and back) and waking up super early and unable to get back to sleep.

I’m going to seek out some magnesium as I’ve heard this can help with both issues.

MuthaHubbard · 02/03/2024 08:41

First weigh in and I'm a bit shocked. 8lbs down. I know some will be water weight and maybe a little due to the two bootcamps but even so, this is unheard of for me.

2nd injection done. Accept things may slow as time goes on but to continue with the current mindset will be amazing.

Well done @ObsidianTree, any loss during totm has always been a struggle for me.

ObsidianTree · 02/03/2024 08:45

Well done for everyone's weight losses :)

Femeia · 02/03/2024 09:08

Week one done for me and like @ObsidianTree it's 3lbs which is somewhat disappointing as I really have been good. I think it kicked in yesterday- had a crazy busy day and hardly ate at all, but also didn't reach for late night snacks. Here's hoping. Also have been waking up stupidly early and lying awake. Was it the magnesium citrate linked earlier that should help?

SW 249lbs Jan23
SW Mounjaro 211lbs
CW 208lbs

BMI creeping towards 30 when it was over 35 this time last year

Having forgotten to add needles to my 5m order, Pharmacy2U have sent some, along with a sharps box, so I now have 3! Going to have my 2nd injection now

Have a good weekend all!

Hadn’t seen the discussion re daily weighing. Yes it’s a personal thing isn’t it. I find it can help me stay on track but as you say it’s difficult because it’s not a true reflection always. I’ve so far lost 2 pounds but gone up and down within the time . So who knows it could be different tomorrow. I also weigh 3 pounds more in the evening to jn the morning!
ive had a really upset stomach today after going out for lunch . It wasn’t an unhealthy lunch but more food than I needed probably. Or could have been coincidence but not much fun having that side effect while out !

ILostMyself · 02/03/2024 14:44

Well done everyone on the losses. An update from me after 6 days (second dose due tomorrow). Definitely hasn’t taken my hunger away as much as Ozempic but I think with Ozempic I often felt slightly sick and that’s what was making me lose my appetite. I haven’t felt starving or had a rumbling belly this week but I am ready (and willing!) to eat when the meal times comes around. I am still snacking more than I should be too.

I definitely have less side effects on this than Ozempic though. I think Ozempic affected my sleep but on this I’m sleeping better than ever. Haven’t been constipated or had any toilet issues and stomach feels fine. Also feel nice and awake in the day and lots of energy as I found the day after an Ozempic dose I was super sleepy.

I’ve been weighing every couple of days and think I’m only a 1lb down but that’s because I know I’m still snacking just a bit too much!! It does stop me completely losing control though and I am in a small calorie deficit I think. I need to use my own will power as well anyway and stop treating it like a magic pill as I don’t want to be on it forever.

Scalessayeek · 03/03/2024 07:31

So I weighed myself last Sunday, first injection to on Tuesday and had a cheeky look at the scale and I've lost 9.5lbs!

Definitely one of the heaviest on the thread but I am really happy. I've just ordered the next set of 5 mg injections as I'm worrying they will be unavailable when I need them.

This stuff is magic, I finally know what it's like not to think about food 24/7!

cloudchaos · 03/03/2024 07:46

I started 2.5mg Thursday evening, I haven’t really had much in the way of side effects except a tiny bit of nausea that’s more than manageable and is starting to go away. However, before going on this, I’ve had a history of bad constipation, so I’ve been extremely worried about this getting worse and I’ve been taking magnesium, an electrolyte drink and trying to drink more water and have more fibre (chia seeds) since Thursday.

Last night I ate an apple, and had a litre of water with an electrolyte drink followed by 3 large mugs of warm tea. I immediately felt like I was bloated and could hear sloshing around in my stomach. I felt uncomfortable. I went to sleep and woke a couple of hours later feeling like I was going to vomit, but didn’t. The whole night was uncomfortable and I’ve woken up feeling a bit better this morning but still bloated.

I'm worried this may be a sign that I’ve got undiagnosed gastroparesis which might have been made worse by starting the medication. I’ve no reason to think this other than the constipation and now water sloshing and bloating.

Could this be normal and not gastroparesis related? Did anyone else have this when drinking similar volumes of water?

It feels wonderful to be out of the grip of food, doesn't it?

Morning! I have no knowledge of gastroparesis, but if I had eaten and drunk what you had, I would definitely feel uncomfortable.

I haven't experienced bad constipation since I started Mourjano (a week and a half ago). I had one day after 5/6 days where I felt a bit uncomfortable, so I took a senna tablet and that was all I've needed. I haven't really changed anything else re water intake or fibre.

Some people get the opposite problem from constipation with Mourjano, so might it be best to see how your body reacts to the drug first?

I hope you feel better soon.

ObsidianTree · 03/03/2024 09:06

Well done @Scalessayeek what a great start. Must be so motivating :)

@cloudchaos I think these meds slow down digestion as part of their effects. I haven't read into it but might be why you've felt fuller /bloated etc. If it persists maybe ask the drs who you got the meds from. I get mine through Asda and I can ask them questions if I need to.
