I have decided to start with Mourjano. Have put an order in with Asda and should hopefully be delivered soon!

Anyone else going to give Mourjano a go?

Do you think it must be the change in glucose levels? I was a whisper below diabetes for my last Hba1c. I can almost feel my body going "Thank you. This is how I am meant to work."

I don't know really. Never really thought about it. Also not sure about my blood sugar levels. But it could be something like that.

Those first week losses… wow.

My scale haven’t moved since my weight post last Friday. That’s really pissing me off as I’m clearly in a massive calorie deficit. Every time I diet this happens. Big first loss and then nothing. It’s normally when I give up too. It’s not an option with Mounjaro. I’m doing this. I need to learn patience.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 28/02/2024 11:45

Delighted to share that my bum is functioning. Rather too well, but, it’s a relief to put it mildly.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 28/02/2024 11:47

I’m the same, Flappy, I don’t stick with diets because I don’t really believe they’ll work. Because they never have before.

It’ll take me a year to get down 70lbs, I’ll try hard not to be disappointed with small losses every week. New habits need consistency, I’m aiming to be fit at 55, which is a realistic time frame.

Well done @PissedOffNeighbour22 and @Thebaldprimadonna.

So my stomach has literally just rumbled for the first time since injection on Saturday so will have some breakfast. But even then I'm not 'starving'. Have others found effects easing off a little as they go through the week? (Day 5)

Yes, I'm day 6 definitely getting hungrier as the week progresses

LoadsToLose · 28/02/2024 13:19

Over 24 hours since my first injection- still have the hip / glute pain on the injection side of body, muscle in spasm. I have had a bowel movement- all normal.

Don’t feel different in any other way yet, but I know 2.5 is just the start dose so I expect it will build up. But certainly no ‘switch’ for me just yet.

ObsidianTree · 28/02/2024 14:44

I'd also like to report that taking magnesium citrate and psylum husks have helped with the constipation. Managed to go yesterday evening and today!

Yes, I definitely found myself feeling tempted a bit more towards the end of the week. Took my second dose in the evening and those feelings had gone by the next morning. Hopefully, that doesn't happen once you move up to 0.5.

LoadsToLose · 28/02/2024 17:26

Day 2 and I am starting to feel more full, but definitely still enjoying food and craving unhealthy foods. So still needing to use my willpower! I’m aiming for 1600 calories per day- moderate rate of weight loss for my build (1lb per week). I may be able to reduce to 1200 to achieve 2lb per week once the appetite suppressant kicks in.

testingtesting1234567 · 28/02/2024 20:50

Evening. hunger dropped right back off again after second jab.
finding the quark pouches from Aldi with 25g of protein (166 calories) really useful when I don’t fancy anything.. I really have not fancied much at all.

No bad side effects to report.
Am having a bit of a wobble worrying about some of the more scary reported risks though.

How is everyone getting on?

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 28/02/2024 21:18

@LoadsToLose Mine took 4 days to start working but didn't wear off by the end of the week as others have found.
I took my second injection today and am definitely more hungry again. Haven't eaten much though and so far have only had 400 cals all day.

I saw on the asda pharmacy online that the higher dosage is now available. Was going to order tonight but some arsehole drove into my car and then drove off this afternoon so I'm not sure I can afford to pay for the injection now I have the car to pay for which is infuriating as it actually losing weight for the first time in many years.

GN637 · 28/02/2024 21:35

It's normal to be hungry. It's not realistic to expect to never be hungry. If we weren't meant to feel hunger then we'd survive on Pac-Man pellets. Why the fear of being hungry when it's such a normal thing to be?

spamm · 28/02/2024 21:43

I think the hunger feelings are normal, but what's amazing is how little it takes to stop them. I am still eating my meals most days, but I eat so much less for each meal and do not feel deprived. Or if I need a snack, I find a protein yoghurt or a handful of almonds is enough.

My sister lost 90 lbs with Mounjaro, and she said that I should eat when I feel like I need something. I am really fighting eating out of habit, because it's time to eat. She also said that her favorite, most effective dosage was the 7.5 and she stayed on that longest

LoadsToLose · 28/02/2024 21:44

@PissedOffNeighbour22 oh no ! Sorry to hear about your car, it sucks when you have unexpected expenses like that.

Thats interesting about the hunger …. but 400 calories seems low to me- probably fine for a one off but not regularly - min 800 calories would probably be ok (if nutritionally balanced) - the Fast 800 is scientifically sound and safe with nutritionally balanced menu (I have the recipe book and it’s very good).

@HoldMyHalo yes hunger before meals is a good thing - we should look forward to and enjoy the food we’re eating. It’s just the hunger/ craving for snacks in between I’m looking to swerve- and that’s been getting better/easier today. Previously I’d have popped to the shop for a treat by now!

Tailfeather · 28/02/2024 22:08

I'm currently on Wegovy, but thinking of switching...

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 28/02/2024 22:32

@LoadsToLose I'm only just having my evening meal due to work and sorting out the kids so will be making sure I eat plenty to make up for the lack of food during the day. I doubt I could survive on 800 cals though!

bblondemoment · 29/02/2024 07:30

Well done everyone on the first week loses , mine wasn't as big a loss as most but a loss is still a loss at my age so I'll take it - 4lb
I done my second injection last night but prior to this the last two days I've been ravenous so probably ate larger than normal evening meals but still haven't touched any snacks x

ObsidianTree · 29/02/2024 07:39

Morning all,
So today I got my period. It wasn't due until Sunday and usually I'm pretty regular. So thinking the jab has effected my ttm. Hope it doesn't keep coming early as it's already annoying!

Also hoping this doesn't effect my weekly weigh in! Stupid ttm!

Haven’t caught up with posts but popping in to say my prescription arrived at my local Boots yesterday. I haven’t been able to collect it yet because I was in this office yesterday and again today but I hope I can somehow manage to collect it later between a meeting and school pick up! Just want to get started …

ObsidianTree · 29/02/2024 08:09

Sorry about your car @PissedOffNeighbour22. Hope it works out ok.

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 29/02/2024 08:09

@bblondemoment well done! Any loss is good and once we move up onto the higher dose hopefully it will start coming off faster.
I'll feel a lot happier once i drop into the stone below as mentally it will feel like something is actually happening. My clothes aren't any looser yet and I can't wait for that!

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 29/02/2024 08:12

Thanks @ObsidianTree. I've only had it a few weeks so I'm fuming, especially as there's no comeback for the arsehole who hit me as he drove off and my dashcam was too blurry to get the number plate as he was speeding 😡

But I didn't comfort eat or order a takeaway like I usually do when something bad happens or I feel down.

R4ch402 · 29/02/2024 08:21

Just ordered my first dose from Pharmacy2U. It allowed me to pick the 5mg one so I chose that but now I'm worried that I should've picked the 2.5mg.
I am currently 18.6st so need to lose a lot. Excited and worried at the same time. I plan to stick to a low carb diet plan and hope this helps with my portion control and blocking out the need to snack.
Does anyone know how long Pharmacy2U take to dispatch? And should I have ordered needles separately?

ObsidianTree · 29/02/2024 08:32

That's so rubbish @PissedOffNeighbour22

Welcome to everyone new starting. Good luck :)

@R4ch402 you might find that the higher dose gives you bad side effects. I'm not sure what happens if you take more than the 2.5mg. however, if they send you the 5mg, then maybe you can actually make it go further by only injecting 2.5mg. So making it last longer. Which is actually pretty cost effective! The only problem is, knowing how much to twist the pen to only give 2.5mg! Also you would need to buy more needles to have enough to get 8 doses out the pen.

OP posts:
ObsidianTree · 29/02/2024 08:33

Oh and they should send you some needles in the pack. The amount varies. Some get 4/5. I got 7 last time I ordered.
