I'm getting married in March - just for fun would love to hear from other 2019 brides.
I've been a lurker for a while but first time posting.

If your wedding's soon, how do you feel? Does it feel real yet?
What are you nervous about?

Best wishes to everyone getting married! Grin

Bought my dress yesterday 😀

tanitani · 28/01/2019 08:10

@QforCucumber
Amazing! Will it be an intimate style with just the two of you? __

@AliasGrape
Congratulations! What kind of dress did you go for?

We are planning a wedding for the month of March. Dress while in the process of selection, as well as the whole image of the bride. For some reason, I think this is easier for me than all the organizational moments.Fortunately, I found who is engaged in the design of my event from beginning to end bstars.eu/ .
Has anyone invited or is going to invite a star to your event? Well a singer there or an actor? Although I think that the singer is more profitable, you can organize a wedding dance under the original song.
Color we chose beige, cream and green. This is more like the color of moss in the forest.
Well, we decided to adhere to the style of natural, forest. A lot of greenery, pastel colors and birds will be singing against the background of music.
At first I thought about making it in a luxury style, sparkles, cocktail dresses, a carpet and invite the photographer to make everyone feel like celebrities at the entrance. Right now, the guys are combining my ideas into one so that everything is harmonious.
And of course, so as not to cost more than the whole found life together, huh))

Could I just ask you all for some advice on flowers? When should I start thinking about getting them sorted with the florist? There is one local to me that I plan to visit but is it too soon with my wedding in August? Or am I actually a bit behind? Clueless!

Shoxfordian · 30/01/2019 16:05

Got my wedding nails done! Two days!

honeybee I emailed a florist in December about when to contact them for our wedding in April 2020... she said she already had weddings booked in for 2020 so we have an initial consultation in 2weeks.

You will always be able to get a florist at short notice but not necessarily one you want.
I would definitely be getting in contact with your florist now!

HoneyBee03 · 30/01/2019 21:36

Thanks @Mummyme87 ! I'll pop in and see them next week then.

tanitani · 31/01/2019 00:32

@Shoxfordian

Thanks @tanitani

I'm being really careful with my hands, don't want to lose any sparkles before tomorrow!

tanitani · 31/01/2019 12:53

@Shoxfordian Of course!

I want to get mine done but terrified when I wash my hair they'll come out lol.

Hope you have a lovely day @shoxfordian Flowers

@HoneyBee03 I'm getting married in early October and we booked the florist a few weeks ago. We're using a small independent florist who would likely still have availability closer to the time, but I wanted to cross it off the list!

tanitani · 01/02/2019 00:49

This may be a silly question but I have a dress fitting on Sunday, after lunch!
Any tips for non-bloating meals? I don’t eat meat or fish so may be all good - but thought I’d check for tips!

Me! Getting married 27th July Grin we only got engaged in November but didn’t see the point in hanging around. Church ceremony less than a mile from our home, where we’ll be hosting our reception in a marquee.
So far;
Booked the church
Booked equipment hire (cooking gear, tables, chairs etc)
Booked caterer
Invitations are being painted up as we speak
Booked florist
Bought dress (bespoke, ready end of May)
Bought rings
In talks with a band we really like

Must do this month;
Get invitations out
Look at suits! Literally on our way to get best man from the airport now, he’s been on the other side of the planet for the last 3 months
Get bridesmaid dresses
Finalise choices with caterer

Just excited about it to be honest, absolutely no stress at all 👌🏻

Isth · 01/02/2019 06:27

Oh! And booked hair and makeup and our photographer... so far the photographer was the most stressful part because fiancé and I are both surprisingly opinionated about the best style of photography 😂

tanitani · 02/02/2019 08:42

This weekend happy wedding @shoxfordian @April241 !

@Isth how many styles of wedding photography are there? Smile
Glad you agreed in the end!

I thought the same @tanitani 😂 there’d just be niggly problems with things like lighting, exposure, focus generally etc. Just so glad we’ve settled on one Grin

We are getting married in just over 4 weeks. We are both in our 60's and have been together for nearly 24 years. We only decided to get married last week! I think what made it now was that a few minor health things are coming to light for both of us, and we want to make sure that any surviving partner won't be left with inheritance tax to pay.
Neither of us like fuss or limelight, so it is low key, and I mean really low key. Just us and two dear friends acting as witnesses, and after, a lovely meal out for the four of us with champagne and taxis to get us all home.
I am having my mother's engagement ring altered to fit me, and oh has bought me a wedding ring, and I will probably treat myself to a new outfit, but that's it. I think all in it will come to less than £600.
Funny thing is, when you have been together so long, a lot of people assume you are married anyway. I have been referred to as 'mrs' for years, so I see it as almost sealing a deal that has been in place for a very long time. My parents are dead, and my oh's father has dementia. The rest of my family don't live near either, so it suits us to keep it simple - it took us a couple of hours to organise it, and for us, it is perfect.

littledinosaurs · 03/02/2019 07:42

Congratulations @Lucisky! That's sounds lovely. Do you have any tips for us couples that haven't been together as long? :)

littledinosaurs · 03/02/2019 07:46

Hello all. Me and my DP are getting married in June. We've been together 7 years and are having a small registry office wedding followed by a nice pub meal. We're not big on parties and are mostly doing it because we want to start a family and it's important to us :) it's kind of a relief to put that somewhere as we've not told anyone (although I'm sure some have guessed).

We've just sent out the invitations yesterday so I'm steeling myself for flakiness (my biggest anxiety is no one turning up!!).

Hope everyone's planning is going well xx

Hermie12 · 03/02/2019 08:09

I’m getting married in May. Everything seems remarkably calm on the planning front which I’m not sure if I should be worried about! Formal invites going out this week and MOH has just sorted hen for 23rd March. I am the spreadsheet queen so probably why I feel in control, give it a couple of months and I may be in panic mode. We are looking forward to a big celebration as there are people travelling from all over. DP and I met when we were both living overseas and he is also not from the UK originally so it’s a chance to see family and friends we haven’t seen for some time. Our 4 year old daughter will play a big part in the day, can’t wait now.

Lucisky · 03/02/2019 19:51

@littledinosaurs, it is frightening how quickly the years have passed, and the older you get, the quicker it goes. I suppose we are best friends who have supported each other through some tough times, can discuss anything, are tolerant of each others quirks, but retain our own interests. We do things as individuals, we are not joined at the hip, and allow each other space to live our lives as we wish. We often go away independently of each other for example. However, we have the security of knowing that we are always there for each other when needed.
I see your wedding is not dissimilar to ours, except you have more quests. Of course people will turn up! Hope it goes well.

We are getting married in December, second time around for both of us, but this time we are doing we want rather than what people expect. DF is a widower so slightly bitter sweet for him.
I went and choose my dress yesterday, delighted with what I have chosen. DF is like a rabbit in the headlights about what he is going to wear fortunately his BM likes clothes and is taking him in hand.
