I wear my yelkow gold ring on right hand. Couldn't put any other metal with platinum as it would wear down and i wouldn't want to ruin either ring.

Here's mine. My engagement ring was my husband's grandmother's ring. He just had it made smaller for me as I've got tiny hands.

I thought I'd go for a plain wedding band, but ended up loving this eternity style ring when I tried it on. Glad I did as I don't think an eternity ring will ever materialise, and I don't wear much other jewellery.

I got a totally plain slim white gold band as engagement ring has diamonds all down the shoulders.

Lovely thread. A rare vote for yellow gold for mine (dating from 2012).

Don't want to show mine because I'd have to get my phone out to take a pic but we just have plain white gold bands. We made them ourselves at a metal working workshop. Only cost £100 or so for materials and £50 for instruction. Was total panic when I lost it (did find it again) because my husband made it and I wouldn't be able to replace it at all.

My engagement ring was made of wood and cost £40 but never fit me (too big - I tried those ring sizer things at the jewellers and always ended up thinking I was a bigger size than I am!)

My husband has a wooden wedding ring. Totally impractical!! It’s lovely but he keeps it for special occasions and day to day wears one we bought at the Vatican on our honeymoon.

I wont give the story behind mine as its too outing but i never wanted to get married but deep down really did but and wanted someone to know that. High maintenance eh? Been together ages now and had to drop big hints though X

I know a lot of people wear theirs but I got a wood one mainly because I knew I was planning to swap it out for the wedding ring. Mine is simple, just wood, no stone inlay or anything.

Thanks, it’s actually a really dark sapphire though. It just currently looks black in the appalling canteen light.

I wear mine as shown. A PP would have a fit but it's the best way they fit. Dh bought me the full eternity ring a few months after DC1 was born.

No engagement or eternity. Married 13 years, together over 20.
